NewJeans (뉴진스) is a five member multinational Kpop girl group that debuted in 2022 under ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE Labels.

The members are Minji, Hanni, Haerin, Danielle, and Hyein. They debuted on August 1, 2022, with their self-titled album NewJeans. The members were selected during the 2019 global auditions by Big Hit and Source Entertainment and have been training for over two years. Their name, NewJeans has a double meaning and is a play on words at the same time. Jeans are known to be a timeless piece of clothing that's worn by everyone in the same way the group can be enjoyed by everyone. It's also a wordplay on the phrase "new genes," meaning they'll usher in a new generation of pop music and offer fresh concepts.

The quintet released the debut music video for their single "Attention" on July 22, and it became their first number-one song on South Korea's Circle Digital Chart. Around the same time, they released two more singles, "Hype Boy" (on July 23) and "Cookie" (Aug 1st).

In Jan 2023, they released their first single album, "OMG" which saw commercial success. The album contains two tracks, "Ditto" and "OMG.". NewJeans received multiple rookie awards after their successful debut.

When it comes to their discography and sound, their music is mainly composed of Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, UK Garage, and Moombahton. The quintet also often participates in writing their songs. Among the members, Danielle, Hanni, and Minji have been credited for writing the lyrics for "Attention" and "Super Shy", "OMG" and "Hype Boy", and "Ditto", respectively.

  • Plaster Cast Doodling: In the "Ditto" side A MV, Heesoo (who represents the fandom) has her arm encased in a cast, and there's a scene where the members write things in English and Korean, with Minji drawing a heart with pink nail polish.
