Mother Feather is an Indie Rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2009. The group specializes in the "pop cock rock" style originating from the NYC club scene and is noted for its energetic live shows.

Members:

  • Ann Courtney — Lead vocals
  • Elizabeth Carena — Backing vocals, keyboards
  • Matt Basile — Bass
  • Chris Foley — Guitar
  • Gunnar Olsen — Drums

Discography:

  • Mother Feather (2016)
  • Constellation Baby (2018)

Tropes:

  • Animal Motifs: Birds, as the name would imply.
  • Intercourse with You: "747" is a little unclear whether its "plane landing" metaphor is for dancing, picking up a one-night stand at a dance club, or both.
  • Male Band, Female Singer: A Two Girls to a Team variant, with Ann and Elizabeth singing for three male musicians (Elizabeth also plays keyboards).
  • Parenthetical Swearing: The band's name started out as a fumbled swear from Ann, which she later described as "a direct message from my subconscious via a Freudian slip".
