Peruvian artist Milena Victoria Warthon Tamariz is the inventor of the Andean Pop music genre, which combines Andean Music with American Pop. Amongst the Andean side of her influences, there are huayno and saya; as well as some Latino genres like reggae, cumbia, criolla, and rock.

Born on March 21st, 2000, Warthon won the folk category of the 2023 Viña del Mar International Song Festival with her single "Warmisitay". That same year she also released her first studio album, the aptly named Pop Andino; a conceptual piece about the Andean woman's life. Her first original song, "Agua de mar" went viral in the Spotify Peruvian top chart two years prior. The next year, in 2022, she participated in the La Voz Perú, where she garnered further fame.
