L-R: Momo, Mina, and Sana

MiSaMo (also stylized in all caps) is a J-pop subunit consisting of Mina, Sana, and Momo - the three Japanese members of the K-pop girl group TWICE.

The first official Twice subunit was formally announced in February 2023 and officially debuted in July, following pre-release singles "Bouquet" and "Marshmallow", the former originally appearing on the soundtrack for the Japanese series Liaison: Children's Heart Clinic shortly before the subunit debut was confirmed.

Debut extended play Masterpiece features elegant/luxurious concepts and some techniques that are seldom explored with Twice, such as Sana and Momo singing at lower registers than usual and Momo being the main rapper.

Yes, you can watch me, but you can't trope me:

  • Break-Up Song: "Rewind You" is about an on-and-off relationship that is expected to end.
    "Everytime we touch
    Gradually, both of us
Know this relationship will repeat itself again
But we know it will end someday"
    (English translation)
  • Color Motif: White turns up a lot, including in the "Marshmallow" video, to highlight their elegant concept.
  • Concept Video:
    • "Do Not Touch" has an art concept.
    • "Marshmallow" has the members working at a department store/office complex. Mina is a part-time employee, Sana is an influencer, and Momo is an intern.
  • Cucumber Facial: Sana gets the cucumber facial treatment in the "Marshmallow" video, but without the facial cream.
  • Face on the Cover: Masterpiece has a cropped image of the members in front of a red curtain with candles. The full image was filtered to resemble a painting.
  • Fake-Out Fade-Out: "Bouquet" appears to end on an orchestral section, only to return with a Truck Driver's Gear Change.
  • Female Empowerment Song: "Do Not Touch" is about consent and waiting for the right time until the partner wants to be more intimate, which is symbolized with the overall art concept.
  • Fun with Acronyms: MSM from the "Marshmallow" video is an abbreviation of the Marshmallow Department, yet it also shares its initials with MiSaMo.
  • The Leader: When asked on stage who the leader of the trio is, Momo responded that the leader is whoever is the happiest the day, which tends to be Sana. Not coincidentally, Sana is the only extravert in the trio, whereas Mina and Momo are introverts.
  • Living Statue: The members first appear in the "Do Not Touch" video as statues in dim lighting. They become living humans when the light shines on them.
  • Longest Song Goes Last: The full version of "Bouquet" (4:24) is the last and longest song on the Masterpiece EP.
  • Non-Uniform Uniform:
    • The opening trailer has the members wearing all-white yet distinctively different attire.
    • Some of their debut showcase performance costumes. The black dresses with diamonds worn for performances of "Behind the Curtain", for example, have different diamond patterns, though this is more subtle between Mina and Momo compared to Sana.
  • Pimped-Out Dress: The members wear multiple to show their elegant concept, such as Sana's two-piece white dress with puffy sleeves in the opening trailer.
  • Portmanteau: Mina + Sana + Momo = MISAMO
  • The Rich Have White Stuff: White appears prominently in some of their content, most notably with their fancy white dresses in the opening trailer.
  • Self-Empowerment Anthem: "Bouquet"
    "It's fine as it is
    I'm fine as I am
    So don't push yourself
Until the day I can love myself even if I'm not good enough"
    (English translation)
  • Spoken Word in Music: The beginning of "Behind The Curtain"
    "Ladies and gents
Let's show something to amazing, you know?"
  • Sunglasses at Night: Mina's bodyguard in the "Marshmallow" video keeps his sunglasses on despite spending almost the entire video inside the department store until she removes them near the end.
  • Visual Title Drop: The "Do Not Touch" video ends with the group turned into a painting with a "do not touch" sign in front of it.
