"Girls Like You" is the fifth single by Maroon 5 from their album Red Pill Blues. The song's accompanying music video was directed by David Dobkin, which features the band and Adam Levine performing the song in the center of a room and a number of women making their appearances.

"The music video" contains examples of:

  • Double Entendre: Cardi B rapping to her boyfriend to call her over she that she could "come and rev it up like a Harley" for him.
  • Double Meaning: The song "Girls Like You" refers to an Love Interest or an old flame. The music video takes it another direction by referring to many inspiring women including the lead singer's wife and daughters.
  • Drugs Are Good: The lyric "Roll that backwood, babe". Backwoods are a brand of cigar notable in the 1970s and 1980s for their heavy advertising, at a time when public perception on smoking health was changing.

As soon as she found her other half, she quickly accepted the ring. However she realizes that she may be rushing it and she needs a moment to think it through. The “skrrt” ad-lib resembles the sound of screeching tires.
  • Meet the In-Laws: Cardi raps about how she knows her relationship is real if she lets the male suitor meet her mama.
  • Relationship Revolving Door: Levine sings about his being drunk and barely alive and whether or not he and his girlfriend can it work or if she'll leave him.
  • Shown Their Work: The clothing worn by the guests of the music video features several messages that represent various social justice and identity movements. Immigrant rights activist Angy Rivera of New York State Youth Leadership Council wears her organization's T-shirt with the phrase "Undocumented Unafraid Unapologetic". Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman wore a T-shirt with the phrase "Always Speak Your Truth". Jackie Fielder, founder of indigenous-led San Francisco Defund DAPL Coalition, wore a T-shirt with the words "Divest, Water is Life".
