Edward Joel Kowalczyk (born July 16, 1971) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who's mostly known as the lead singer of the band Live. After his toxic split from the band in 2009, he focused on a solo career of mostly Christian music. This page is for his career as a solo artist. Keep in mind that he performs any and all of his old songs from when he was with Live, so song-tropes from that era still apply to him. He rejoined Live in December 2016.

- Real Men Love Jesus: Ed's pretty serious about his Christian faith. Incidentally, he's also got one of the pottiest mouths in Christian rock.
- Precision F-Strike: "Stage", "Freaks", "Voodoo Lady", and "People Like You" all drop one or two pointed F-bombs, although in all but "Voodoo Lady", they're rather gratuitous and out-of-the-blue.
- Reincarnation: "Lightning Crashes" strongly implies that the 'old mother' who has just died has been reincarnated as the baby just born 'down the hall'.
- Similarly Named Works: His song "Grace" is not a Jeff Buckley cover. Not to be confused with a Live song called "Graze".
- Slasher Smile: He does it in several videos, and he's got fangs in his lower jaw.

- Tear Off Your Face: On Tricky's music video for "Evolution Revolution Love", whenever the vocalist changes, the last vocalist peels off his face to reveal the next singer.
- Walking Shirtless Scene: In his younger years, he was very fond of either wearing open shirts or no shirt at all. He was on the scrawny side up until about 2003, when he suddenly had pecs and started shaving his chest.
