"FOR YOU ARE NOT JUST DRAGGING CHRISTIAN WESTON CHANDLER'S NAME IN THE MUD, YOU ALSO DRAG THE AMERICAN HOPES AND DREAMS AND IDEAS OF THE MAJORITY OF THESE GREAT, HUMBLE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ALONG WITH HIM YOU'VE HAD YOUR LAUGHS, BUT ASK YOURSELF, IS IT REALLY WORTH IT TO CONTINUE ON WITH THESE SLANDERS THAT DRAGS THE NAMES OF THE GOOD PEOPLE WITHIN THIS COUNTRY THAT WAS FOUNDED WITH LOVE AND PEACE WITHIN IT THAT THOSE BEFORE US HAVE FOUGHT VALIENTLY TO WITHOLD, THAT I WAS BORN AND RAISED UNDER THE OLD GLORY THAT IS THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE."

Deep Dark Trench is a Vaporwave Concept Album from the artist chris†††, released on September 10, 2018. The album explores the events of the September 11 attacks in three acts. The first act is the attack itself, the second act is 2001 to now and the third act is the millennials telling their future kids "forget it". It was preceded by an EP (released on July 4, 2018, three months and six days prior to this album) titled "Sacrificial Lamb", which serves as both an prologue and an epilogue.

This album can heard on Bandcamp, Spotify & YouTube.

Not to be confused with another, yet more popular, Vaporwave album about this event.

This album contains examples of:

  • Bad Future: The third act is this, about the grown millennials telling their future kids to forget 9/11 and especially the latest terrorist attacks and the fear of another 9/11 coming.
  • Downer Beginning: Considering what this album is about, it doesn't get off to a good start.
  • Neverending Terror: This album (and the prologue/epilogue EP Sacrificial Lamb) tie into each other, meaning war and terrorism don't really stop, they only pause.
  • No Ending: The final track "Thoughts and Prayers" ends with a news sample of Katie Couric talking (this was actually from a Today broadcast on September 11, 2001, 16 minutes before the attack), before the track abruptly cuts to distorted VHS static noise, tying into "Sacrificial Lamb", which ties back into Deep Dark Trench.
Katie Couric: "We’re back at 8:30 on this Tuesday morning-"
  • Nothing Is Scarier: The last track ends with a female newsanchor talking before the track abruptly cuts to static. Considering this is in the third act, it might represent another attack similar to 9/11 happening…. or something worse.
  • Sampling: Since this is Vaporwave after all, this album is made up of this.
  • Vanity Plate: A few of them are sampled at some points in the album, specifically the middle of "National Tragedy" and the end of "American Dream".
