"Tropes is what I am":

  • Epic Rocking: "Jungle", "It Never Goes Away", "Seduction of the Innocent", "I Confess" and "I Walk Alone" all surpass the 5-minute mark, and many of the other songs on the album fall just below that.
  • New Sound Album: Probably their biggest departure, the album is very grunge-influenced. It's basically an Alice in Chains album with Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons on vocals.
  • One-Word Title: "Hate", "Rain", and "Jungle".
  • Record Producer: Toby Wright, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley.
  • Religion Rant Song/Sinister Minister: "I Confess" is about a priest who dabbles in both drugs and religion and is confessing his sins to himself in the mirror.
  • Step Up to the Microphone: Bruce does the lead vocals on "I Walk Alone".
