Boys Like Girls is a Pop Punk and pop-rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. They're best known for their hit single "The Great Escape".

The band consists of Martin Johnson, Paul DiGiovanni, Morgan Dorr, and John Keefe. Boys Like Girls formed in 2005. The band took a hiatus in 2011 but began working on an album later that year.

The band has released three albums: "Boys Like Girls" (2006), "Love Drunk" (2009), and "Crazy World" (2012).

This band provides examples of:

  • Distracted by the Sexy: Their Rolling Stone magazine cover from 2008 in which they are wearing slutty white clothes caused a lot of controversy due to their tween fans hating it and their Hannah Montana episode being banned for a short time before it went on the air again.
  • Electric Love: "Thunder" compares the singer's love for someone as being similar to thunder.
  • Lucky Charms Title: "Hero/Heroine" has a title like this.
  • Silly Love Song: As their name suggests, Boys Like Girls has many songs about young love, including "Hero/Heroine" and "Thunder".
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: "Dance Hall Drug" is about precocious preteens and young teens who try to act more mature than they are.
