Go To

"The Hellgate is open. You scrub the blood from your eyes with the heel of your palm. The sickly-sweet tang in the air is just like your dream. The tangled bodies of your fellow explorers form a throne of flesh for the Demon Lord. The screaming has only just begun.
Just as you've always dreamed."

The Traitor brings their friends to the mansion, with the intention of murdering one of them to use as a human sacrifice. If the Traitor succeeds in performing the ritual and opening up the gate, the forces of Hell will begin to destroy the human world as the Traitor notes how sweet the screams of terror sound, enjoying how they can watch the carnage while being completely unharmed by it.
  • Death Doth Find Us All: This Traitor makes a pact with the sapient House on the Hill to bring it new victims to eat every decade in exchange for the years they would have lived. Consumed with remaining young and healthy forever, the Traitor lures unsuspecting explorers to the house, regardless of their age, and stalls them there while the House ages them to death. If the Traitor wins, they will simply step over the ashes of the fallen, content with repeating their heinous actions every decade forever.
  • The Feast: Always Madame Zostra unless not in play, this Traitor is the leader of a pack of deranged cannibals who reside in the mansion. The Traitor found a way to become immortal through a ritual involving cannibalism, so to pursue it, the Traitor has led or kidnapped numerous amounts people to be murdered, cooked, and feasted upon inside the mansion. When the Haunt begins, the Traitor takes delight at seeing their favorite dish, a head severed from the mutilated body of their latest victim. Wanting nothing less than to be worshiped as an immortal, the Traitor doesn't care how many victims they'll claim if they get what they want.
  • Ring of King Solomon: This Traitor has had dreams of terror and pain ever since they were a young child. Discovering that the cause of these dreams were mysterious pentagrams under their bed, the Traitor makes a deal with the forces of Hell that they'll begin preparations for the Demon Lord's arrival as long as the nightmares stop. Eventually, the Traitor began to find life boring and missed the dreams of terror that they originally wanted to avoid, so they made another deal to finish the preparations as long as they'd get those dreams back. Deceiving their friends into opening up the gates of Hell, the Traitor notes how they're done with simply dreaming and is ready to make their dreams of pain and screams a reality, wishing to plunge the world into chaos for the sake of their fetish. If the Demon Lord and his forces kill the other explorers, the Traitor will happily note how the carnage is like how they've always dreamed and has only just begun.
  • Stacked Like Cordwood: This Traitor is a relative of the Haunt's primary antagonist, Crimson Jack, an infamous Serial Killer who revives every time he's killed to slaughter any people who come inside the mansion. To kill their boredom the Traitor takes advantage of their relative's dangerous mindset and befriends people with the sole purpose of leading them to the mansion to watch them get slaughtered by Crimson Jack, for their own amusement. When the explorers enter the mansion, they notice how the Traitor is standing in a room filled with stacked corpses of victims that the Traitor brought for Crimson Jack in the past. With the goal of summoning an evil god to end the world, the cult members have murdered and sacrificed numerous amounts of people in their attempt of bringing forth their god. The Traitor decides to bring their friends to the mansion, who they truly only view as victims for the cult, as the latest offerings to the cult's god. The Traitor then lures them to the mansion and kills them through their voodoo dolls, keeping a scrapbook filled with the dolls of their previous victims. When the haunt begins, the Traitor has the voodoo dolls of the other explorers hidden around the mansion, several in areas that will slowly torture the explorers the dolls are based off of such as slowly being burned alive, or suffocating more and more with every passing turn. If the Traitor wins, they cross off the dolls of their newest victims before getting bored and deciding to go and find new "friends".
  • Worm Ouroboros: The titular Ouroboros, a twin-headed snake that can encircle the world, begins the Haunt by forcibly exiting the body of the HR, killing them by splitting their body into two from the inside. After exiting the explorer's body, Ouroboros feels a strong desire to show off its strength, and decides to grow larger and more powerful so it can encircle the house and destroy it without any regard for the explorers who are still inside. If Ouroboros wins, after destroying and eating the house and the explorers inside it, Ouroboros plans on continuing its rampage of destruction until it grows large enough to deliver the same fate to Earth and, eventually, the entire universe as it did to the house.

In the Haunt The Dark Light of Bhaal, Bhaal uses a magical lantern to break the mind of the HR to turn them into a bloodthirsty maniac, orders the HR to kill their friends, and, if the Traitor succeeds, Bhaal has them search for more victims to slaughter. In the Haunt Battle of the Bhaalspawn, Bhaal calls for his children to gather in Baldur's Gate before influencing their minds to convince them to all fight to the death, cackling with delight as he watches. Responsible for more Haunts than any other villain in the game, Bhaal treats Baldur's Gate as little more than a playground to cause death and destruction.

During the Haunt, Acererak has the Traitor use the sphere in an attempt to kill and absorb the soul of every citizen within Baldur's Gate. If the Traitor succeeds, Acererak thanks the Traitor by killing them and devouring their soul as well. In the Haunt The Death Curse, to stack up on souls, Acererak and Ras Nsi send a Yuan-Ti to gather souls to hasten the spread of the titular Death Curse, intending to have it infect the entire world. If the adventurers discover a note left by Ras Nsi, it's revealed that Acererak has infected his own ally with the curse as well.

If the Traitor succeeds in assisting Olhydra in her goal, Olhydra will enter the Material Plane to expand her rule, intending to flood the entire planet to make it her own.
  • You'll Have The House Slaad With That: The Traitor from this Haunt is secretly a Death Slaad who disguised itself as an adventurer. Prior to the Haunt, the Death Slaad sent its offspring to attack the heroes, only to kill its own children to earn the trust of the heroes. While traveling with the heroes, the Death Slaad secretly implanted several Slaad Tadpoles inside them that will eat the adventurers from the inside. When the tadpoles are ready to emerge, the Death Slaad reveals its true form to the adventurers, and tells them about the Death Slaad placed inside them solely to see them panic. If the Death Slaad succeeds in killing all of the heroes, it'll note how it inflicted the same fate upon countless other adventuring groups in the past for its own amusement, before moving on to infect all citizens of Baldur's Gate with its spawn, intending to have the city to be the first of many to be infested.
