In a competitive gaming scene powered by memes, Smash takes the cake for having more than any other game.
Please note, if you wish to add an example here, please leave a note or labelnote explaining why it's an example. Zero-Context Examples are not allowed on TV Tropes. Similarly, please try to keep the memes actually related to Smash in some way and make sure they're relatively well known already in the community. This page is not for forcing anything you find funny to become a meme.

Series-Wide
- No JohnsExplanation A term meaning "no excuses" made up by a small group of Melee players after their friend of the same name, who was known for making up reasons for why he lost. As the Melee community grew and the group kept using it as an in-joke, it gained popularity.
- This one got a small revival in 2014 after Reggie Fils-Aimé included it in a speech he made for EVO, though it apparently fell into disuse in the meantime as there were some half-joking comments asking why Reggie didn't like people named John.
- Officially an Ascended Meme as a randomly generated nickname in Smash 4.
- TIRES DON EXITS!!Explanation One fan's (poorly spelled) objection to the insistence that each character can be put into a specific tier.
- We Tech Those! / No Tech Zone!Explanation A 'tech' occurs when you are slammed against a wall or floor and quickly recover without bouncing off. In advanced play, teching can save you from bouncing off the side of the platform to your doom, or getting caught in a devastating air combo. Expect these phrases to come up a lot when competitors succeed or fail at it and are punished dearly.
- We take those! Explanation Derived from the above, this is usually said whenever someone claims a stock earlier than usual, typically due to gimping the opponent's recovery.
- EL TECH DE JESUS Expalanation Translated as "The Tech of Jesus", this is used when there are multiple techs in a row offstage. While the original clip was originally from a Smash 4 set in Mexico between MkLeo and D~Elvis, it became popular in both the Melee and Ultimate scene.
- Smelly Smash players.Explanation The Smash competitive scene has the infamous reputation of being populated by people who don't practice good hygiene, and this is often used as a sarcastic jab towards competitive players.
- #ESAMOpinions Explanation Competitive Smash player Eric "ESAM" Lew is known for his very questionable opinions. The best-known example would be his insistence on Pikachu being one of the best characters in Smash 4. It is commonly used to refer to a stance that is not widely shared in the Smash community.
- ESAM is bald Explanation Many, many jokes are made about ESAM's bald head.
- NairExplanation Palutena's and Ike's neutral airs (Nair for short) are incredible moves and key parts of their kit in Ultimate, to the point of being spammed, even at top level play. For the latter, this has even led to people calling Ike's Ultimate appearance "Nair: The Character" and variations of it. This also applies, albeit on a lower scale, to Ridley, Cloud's 3DS/Wii U appearance, and Luigi's Melee appearance.
Smash 64
- Isai is too good. Explanation Joel Isai Alvarado, also known as Isai, is a former Super Smash Bros. Melee player and currently only plays the original Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 64. While Isai mains Pikachu, he frequently sandbags tournaments with the entire roster and has basically created the modern metagame due to how far ahead of the other competitors he is, to the point where he won a major tournament using only Jigglypuff, which resulted in her moving up two spots in the tier list and being at the top of mid-tier. All of these factors combined are how this meme was given birth.
Melee
- "No items, Fox only, Final Destination."Explanation A jab at tournament-level Super Smash Bros. (Melee) players, who generally turn off items to avoid random elements, keep up on character tiers (Fox and Falco typically being top-tier in Melee), and play only a subset of available stages to avoid unfair advantages or more random elements — Final Destination is often a favorite due to being a featureless flat plane. These efforts at making the Super Smash Bros. series more balanced for Tournament Play are dismissed by some players as taking the fun away from the game. Note: The phrase is a snowclone of the unrelated horror movie's tagline.
- "Final items, no only, Fox Destination!"
- The year is 20XX. Everyone plays Fox. Explanation A hypothetical post-apocalyptic year where the knowledge and skill of players have reached a point where they play with absolute perfection, and can no longer improve; Fox, being the most efficient character in the roster, is the only viable character left; and as a result of every player playing perfectly, the matches are determined by a rock-paper-scissors match for port priority.
- 20XX IS NOW!Explanation A crowd chant used whenever somebody pulls off a ridiculously stylish move as Fox.
- 20GXExplanation An alternate scenario to 20XX where everyone instead plays Captain Falcon, considered competitive Smash's "hype machine". Named after F-Zero GX.
- The opening cinematic of Ultimate has Fox standing on Final Destination with no Items in sight, another reference to the meme.
- "YO DID HE JUST WALK UP SLOWLY AND DOWN SMASH!?" Explanation A quote from Bobby "Scar" Newman when Mang0 performed, what is now, one of the most infamous hard reads at Big House 4.
- HAPPY FEET! WOMBO COMBO!!!Explanation during a 2v2 match, SilentSpectre (Captain Falcon) and Tang (Fox) took out Lucky (Fox), and got Zhu (Fox) to his last stock. The two defeated Zhu by performing an extremely difficult and fast combo from zero percent to death in FIVE SECONDS. This managed to impress the commentator HomemadeWaffles, and the combo is considered one of the best in all of pro Smash.
- That ain't Falco! Explanation One of the several famous lines from the Wombo Combo video. Zhu attempted to save himself from being ganged up on by using his Back Air attack, but forgot he was playing Fox, not Falco, whose Back Air is much weaker.
- "WHERE YOU AT!? WHERE YOU AT!!?"
- "GET YO' ASS WHUPPED!!"
- HE READ THAT ROLL! Explanation In EVO 2013 Loser's Finals (Mango (Fox) vs. Hungrybox (Jigglypuff)), Mango pulls off one of the most clutch and astounding hard reads ever, reading Hungrybox's roll and charging an up smash, to win the set 2-0 and advance. It quickly becomes known by some as the "Up Smash Heard 'Round The World".
- Ganondorf's Up Tilt Explanation Bizarro Flame, known as one of the best Ganondorf players in the world, has a tendency to show off extremely inefficient but extremely stylish combos to KO his opponents, including one famous one where he tech chases to combo 5 down airs and the competitively useless up tilt to KO SSBMStrain.
- THE PUNCH Explanation Ganondorf's forward aerial in Melee, in which he arcs his fist down from the sky for a powerful attack. Inspired by this thread at GameFAQs, in which a user posted an enthusiastic, if uninformed, defense of Ganondorf as a competitive character.
- The Apex 2015 Salty Suite Leffen vs. Chillindude829 money match. Explanation After Leffen insulted him in a series of tweets and an interview, Chillindude829 challenged him to a First-to-5 money match, with $100 and the right to use Fox's default color in tournaments at stake. Chillindude829 proceeded to lose the match 0-5.
- My B.Explanation What Chillindude829 said on-camera after his devastating loss.
- Respect Your Elders Explanation Chillindude829 also produced a Leffen diss track.
- Multishining Explanation Fox can actually use his reflector multiple times in succession, but it is very hard to pull off. Even elite players needn't use more than two or three in a row. But you will see every single newbie try to master the technique instead of more useful ones, like SHFFLing aerials or shine turnarounds.
- Jigglypuff's back aerial Explanation Jigglypuff's back aerial in Melee is famous for having a crazily disjointed hitbox that extends twice as long as Puff's leg and does a fair amount of knockback, allowing for the Wall of Pain combo, where an opponent is comboed with aerials off the screen.
- Marth's grab range Explanation To save you a long explanation, Marth's grab range is longer than Yoshi's. If this seems reasonable, remember that Yoshi extends his tongue out of his face to grab the opponent, and Marth simply swings his hand out in front of him. The joke is regularly expanded to make his grab range even more ridiculous, like saying Marth could just grab characters from across the stage, or even across TV screens.
- FalcoMaster3000. Explanation A joke was made at a competitive Melee tournament that, based on the sheer popularity of Fox and Falco in competitive tournaments, that there is a line of "FalcoMasters", genetically engineered humans that are made for the specific purpose of playing Fox and Falco to perfection. This caused a player, wearing a mask and sunglasses to cover his face, not saying a single word, and only putting down his name as "FalcoMaster3000", to show up at a professional Canadian Smash tournament and win with Fox, Falco, and Marth. He went nine hours without taking off the mask to talk or even eat, and nobody knew his identity… until it was later revealed to be one SuPeRbOoMfAn, when he showed up to a tourney in 2018 with the mask and sunglasses.
- "Press 1 if you feel bad/*insert emotion* for Hungrybox/*insert player*" Explanation A series of videos about Hungrybox, world's best Jigglypuff, having various emotions at different times, mostly as he's getting his butt kicked. The "Press 1" part originates from tournament announcers interacting with their Twitch streams, as well as from the original video. Perhaps the most infamous of these is the aptly-named "Press 1 if you feel mad for Hungrybox", which is also the origin of the term "HOO-HAH". Other videos in this series include "Press 1 if you feel sad for Hungrybox". This meme has also spread to other players, with such titles as "Press 1 if you feel sad for Leffen", "Press 1 If You Feel Bad for Barthurs", and "Press 1 if you feel bad for Zer0", among many other versions of the same phrase.
- Throwing crabs at Hungrybox Explanation Juan "Hungrybox" DeBiedma, one of the Melee gods and having been the #1 player of Melee from 2017-2019 by playing Jigglypuff, the most detested of Melee's top tiers, has gained a sizable hatedom, with the most extreme case to date being someone throwing an actual (thankfully already dead) crab at him after winning Pound 2019. The absurdity of the situation instantly led to memes, and it's become almost obligatory to make jokes about it when discussing Hungrybox and his haters. This culminated in him embracing the meme by eating an actual crab meal on stream.
- We Esports now. Explanation Said in regards to Melee's rapidly expanding competitive community, after EVO 2013 and multiple big-name tournaments in 2014 like EVO and MLG Anaheim, as well as an invitational tournament at E3 held by Nintendo themselves.
- Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Nintendo GameCubeExplanation One way to make fun of the competitive Melee community is to refer to the game on a Full-Name Basis.
- Wobbling Explanation The Wobble, an infinite combo named after Ice Climbers player Wobbles, who saw great use of the technique when he placed 2nd at EVO 2013 with great usage of it, occurs when one Ice Climber grabs and pummels the opponent while the other Climber repeatedly attacks them after the pummels with a forward or down tilt. It is an inescapable combo, leading to a guaranteed stock if done correctly. It has generated extreme controversy in the community over whether it should be banned, but most major tournaments allowed the technique due to the skill needed to pull it off. However, starting in 2019, major tournaments began to ban or severely limit Wobbling due to concerns that the frequency of the technique in competitive play would turn away players who were new to the scene.
- Inui logic Explanation Inui was an old tournament organiser before getting into controversies and created a term where if A beats B, and B beats C then A beats C. For example, Kage beat Mang0 at Revival of Melee 2 and Mang0 beat Armada at Genesis 1, meaning Kage is better than Armada.
- Crazy Peach luck Explanation Whenever a Peach player in a match has crazy luck and pulls out multiple stitchfaces (which do a high amount of damage and knockback) or multiple Bob-ombs (which are exceptionally rare), expect the commentators to be in complete shock about the favorable randomness.
- EASY MONEY!!!Explanation Famous quote from Ganondorf player Bizarro Flame when challenged to a money match. When asked what would happen in the match, Bizarro gave a beautiful re-enactment of Ganondorf's up tilt. Quickly spread due to its meme-iness.
Smash 4
- For Glory Mode, Fox only! Explanation For Fun allows players to play on any stage besides Final Destination, with items. For Glory only allows Final Destination with no items (but you aren’t required to use Fox).
- BOWSER of all characters has been subject to the long-running meme as of the SDCC 3DS tournament where, you guessed it, quite a few competitors used the King of the Koopas due to how much more agile he is in the fourth game.
- For Glory Mac Mode. Explanation Shortly after release, Little Mac, being fairly simple to use and perfect for Final Destination-styled stages, became one of the most used characters on For Glory mode (and by consequence, one of the most hated).
- SF5 Smash 4 - Serge (Lucario) Vs. Darkfall (Link) SSB4 Tournament - Smash Wii U HD Explanation On July 30th 2016, almost 12 thousand videos on VGBootCamp's YouTube channel had their name changed to the same title named after a match in the Mexican national Smash Factor 5; not to get confused with the common terminology for the SF5 abbreviation, Capcom's fighting game Street Fighter V. This was confirmed as a mistake by GimR, as the VGBC crew were recommended an experienced uploader by many sources; however, the uploader had messed up on his first video. The videos have now been fixed to their correct names.
- Zero-to-death combo. Explanation In response to Bayonetta's aerial combo game being considered one of the biggest game breakers in the entire series, with complainers citing that even an only halfway-decent Bayonetta player can juggle an enemy with ease and KO about any percent on any stage, although most infamously, being able to KO an opponent stock from zero percent in one combo.
- El Tech De Jesus! Explanation In a battle against MK Leo in Spain, MK Leo's opponents went off stage and teched 8 times in a row, causing the commentators to go wild. It's typically considered the best tech showcase in Smash 4.
- 0.9 Explanation Originated from the set Captain Zack vs komorikiri at supermajor Genesis 4, komorikiri realised that the set he had played was on 0.9 knockback, which was why some of his damage confirms and kill confirms were not working. Afterwards, it was found that the previous set, Dabuz vs Zero, was also played on 0.9. Commonly used in twitch chat to describe a move that should have killed, or a player living longer than he should be. May also be used in a match involving Sonic and Bayonetta as a reference to the set.
- Bayonetta Vs. BayonettaExplanation In Smash 4, due to how utterly broken Bayonetta was even after the nerfs, many top players picked up the Umbra Witch to win battles. This resulted in a lot of matches where the top 8 would consist primarily of Bayonetta players, with the most infamous example of this being EVO 2018, the last major tournament for the game before the release of Ultimate.
Ultimate
- "Yeah, I’m a smash player. Along with that I know many things that most don’t know about these communities. Melee isn’t part of the actual smash community and I’m not saying that because I don’t like them. I’m saying that based off of years of research." Explanation Saleem "Salem" Young said this after getting into an argument with Leffen, with Salem later claiming that Melee wasn't a true Smash game. This ended up becoming a copypasta because of the absurdity of what he was saying.
- EU players are penguinsExplanation In discussion responding to criticism over seeding in Genesis 6, particularly over placement of European player William "Glutonny" Belaïd, the best player in Europe, one of the seeders discredited the region by comparing the player to himself beating a bunch of penguins in Antarctica. It added more fuel to the fire, but the comparison was so absurd that a lot of people found it funny and ran with it.
- Dinner-Is-Ready DIExplanation When someone (usually online) DI's an attack so poorly that it ends up getting them killed when they otherwise would have lived. The term comes from assumptions that people who do this online were summoned for dinner with their family, forcing them to deliberately lose without powering the system off, which would net them a warning/temporary ban.
- He's just standing there, menacingly!Explanation Sota "Zackray" Okada's fighting style is mostly just him standing without clicking buttons until something happens that he can respond to, forcing the opponent to initiate interactions and making them unsure how to approach him. It's one of the many reasons why he gave a Curb-Stomp Battle to everyone up to Top 8 at GENESIS 6 (including Light, who is considered one of the best players in the world), and almost beat VoiD.
- Zackray mains literally everyone Explanation Zackray is also notorious for having an incredible amount of secondary characters that he will use on a whim, the most notorious example of this being at The Big House 9, where he used a total of seven characters in bracket and won using five of them (R.O.B., Joker, Wolf, Mr. Game & Watch, Marth, Sonic, and Corrin, with only the latter two not scoring any wins for him). Since then, he has gone to use Byleth, Mario, and Palutena as additional characters.
- Losers bracket Zackray Explanation Similarly to Leo, whenever he gets sent to the losers bracket of some tournaments early, he tends to beat everyone in his path to win the tournament, with Enrique "Maister" Solís doing this at The Big House 9 and Jagaimo doing this at Umebura SP 7. This mostly happens at Japanese tournaments, however, with his attempts to do so at Frostbite 2020 and 2GG: Kongo Saga having him run into MkLeo and Paris "Light" Ramirez respectively, who are two out of only four players in the top 10 of the PGRU that have a winning record against him.
- Yeah, but remember when Shuton daired a Pikmin to recover? Explanation During an Ultimate match between Robert "Myran" Herrin (as Olimar) and Shuto "Shuton" Moriya (as Richter), at one point Shuton, with a Pikmin stuck to him while offstage, did Richter's down aerial (which bounces him if it connects with a hurtbox) and hit the Pikmin, essentially granting himself an extra jump off of it and making an otherwise impossible recovery back to the stage. This clip is generally regarded as one of the best moments to come out of the first year of competitive Ultimate.
- Lippo Mode Explanation Samuel “Dabuz” Buzby is a player who is known for his... particularly large lips, and people frequently use this expression whenever he starts doing well in a set.
- Dabuz looking kinda cute tho 😳 Explanation Twitch chat tends to spam messages that can be interpreted as a joking Celeb Crush for Dabuz whenever he plays, with this being the most prevalent one. The meme also extends to smashers that the playerbase sees as Adorkable, like Maister and Takuma "Tea" Hirooka.
- Game 4 MkLeo Explanation Leonardo "MkLeo" Perez, the current best Ultimate player in the world, has a habit for clutching victory from the jaws of defeat in the fourth game of a set, the first and most famous example of this being his reverse three-stock comeback against Gavin "Tweek" Dempsey at EVO 2019. Since then, people tend to joke that Leo's opponent is screwed when a set reaches that point, which more often than not turns out to be true.
- Losers bracket MkLeo Explanation Whenever Leo gets sent to the losers bracket of a tournament early, he tends to tear through everyone in his path to win the tournament, with Takuto "Kameme" Ono causing this at EVO 2019, and Pedro "Prodigy" Alonso causing it at Frostbite 2020.
- Tweek blowing 2-0 leads on MkLeo Explanation Tweek, while a very good player (third best in the world as of the Fall 2019 PGRU) almost always gets reverse 3-0'd by MkLeo whenever the two face off in bracket, with it occurring at EVO 2019, Super Smash Con 2019, twice at 2GG: Kongo Saga, and Frostbite 2020. This has gone on to the point where people joke about knowing the set outcome when they happen to see that Tweek and Leo are going to face each other in bracket. The joke started to die off after Smash Ultimate Summit 3, where Tweek 3-0'd Leo in both sets they played... and then came back in full force when Leo reverse 3-0'd Tweek in the winner's finals of Riptide
- The antics of retired top player Nairoby "Nairo" Quezada on his stream have created their fair share of memes:
- Nairo failed art class and can't draw a circle Explanation In one of his videos, Nairo talks about how he failed art class in high school and then tried to draw a circle to prove that he was good at the subject. The result was... not good, to put it lightly. The joke would get paid off at Smash Ultimate Summit 2 later on in the year, where during the talent show skit, Nairo drew a circle as his talent.
- Nairo's gambling addiction Explanation Nairo had a large tendency to place bets on pretty much anything whenever he streamed, be it through betting gift subscriptions on Twitch with his viewers or playing the lottery in variety games. In fact, he gambled with Smash 4's (and later Ultimate) spectating system (using in-game currency) so frequently that he was able to create a series titled "Nairo Bets It All" out of it.
- "I've got your back." Explanation During Nairo's return to streaming on April 8th, 2021, he received such a large amount of donations from people that were happy to see him back that it caused the set donation message quoted above to repeatedly play over and over again on the stream.
- Stream snipers Explanation Nairo's frequent attempts to complete the Iron Man challenge have seen him run into people who near-constantly show up on his streams in an attempt to end the run, with varying degrees of success. Eventually, Nairo would make content out of the gaggle of griefers by hosting an invitational consisting of 8 stream snipers duking it out for his (and the audience's) amusement.
- DDee the 13 year-old prodigy Explanation Ezra "Samsora" Morris, the second best player in the world, ended up losing to a 13 year-old kid in a first to 10 (whoever wins ten games first wins). The prodigy in question, DDee, exploded in popularity overnight, with many prominent names in the community looking to face him, such as Brian "Cosmos" Kalu, Eric "ESAM" Lew and ZeRo. Other players later faced him such as Maister, Gabriel "Epic Gabriel" Romero, Ricardo "Sinji" Mathison, Gavin "Tweek" Dempsey and even MkLeo himself. He ended up becoming #3 in Georgia, one of the strongest regions in the USA, at the age of 15 and became heavily popular once again after his incredible bracket run at his first major event, MomoCon 2022, where he took down several top players to get 5th place.
- Deep Leffen Bot Explanation Someone managed to create a bot that has an algorithm based on Leffen's tweets (though the published tweets themselves are curated), as well as his posts on Reddit and r/smashbros and r/SmashBrosUltimate itself. Needless to say, Hilarity Ensues.
- Kameme's hatred for Zero Suit Samus Explanation Kameme, a renowned Mega Man and Wario player from Japan, harbors a notorious dislike of Zero Suit Samus stemming from all the way back in Smash 4, and it persists in Ultimate, with both Mega Man and Wario being agreed as winning matchups for ZSS. It got to the point where Kameme put her as a completely impossible matchup for Mega Man in particular, and it was compounded even further with his losses against two of Japan's best ZSS players, Shintaro "Kuro" Kakihara and Toshimasa "Choco" Hayakawa (the former double eliminating him at Umebura SP 6), though he finally snapped his losing streak against the character with his victory over Marss at Let's Make Big Moves.
- ZSS sux Explanation Tyler "Marss" Martins, a perennial contender for top 5 in the world for both seasons of the PGRU, frequently downplays the strengths of his main, Zero Suit Samus, with the phrase "ZSS sux," which caused it to become a well-known meme within the competitive Smash community due to how frequently and nonchalantly he says it.
- Pikachu BUSTED Explanation Eric "ESAM" Lew (widely considered to be the best Pikachu player in the world) is NOT shy about how his main might actually be a bit overpowered, or "busted/broken".
- Peach mains and matchup charts Explanation Unlike the example with Marss above, who is clearly joking whenever he says Zero Suit Samus is bad, Peach mains, most notably Samsora, are unironic in their belief that Peach struggles in matchups that no top tier would normally struggle in, with the most egregious examples of these being that the Peach/DK and Peach/Ganondorf matchups are even, as perpetuated by Samsora himself.
- The False Combo Explanation False uploaded a twitter combo of DK against Bowser, with DK using nair, Side B, down B, Footstool, Side B, d-tilt, jab with one up-B as a kill. The combo itself was not truenote A true combo is impossible to escape from if done correctly at all, with plenty of mockery from the fanbase because of it, with some have replicated it through different games as part of the joke.
- "All Bowser players are carried" Explanation Bowser is considered the best superheavy of all of them, and is relatively easy to pick up and play without much training or experience, boasting Flame Breath that consistently deals a whopping 40%, a multi-hitting dual-sided Up-B that can be used effectively out-of-shield in a blind panic and a fast command-grab that kills ridiculously early. Because of this he's fairly popular amongst lower level players who wouldn't do well with other characters. The quote itself comes from Andrew Yang, which has since become an in-joke in the community.
- Never take Sephiroth to Smashville Explanation Sephiroth's best stage by far is considered to be Smashville, which was pointed out by Larry Lurr's title. This is due to his incredibly large range covering a large area around him, making it much harder to deal with his aerials due to Smashville's small size, with his up air being able to hit the main floor when the opponent is below close to the blast zone. In addition, blast zones are smaller, allowing easier times for Sephiroth to get KO's outside of Winged Form. The title since became a copypasta.
- Sparg0at Explanation Edgar "Sparg0" Valdez is considered to be the best player on wifi, the best Cloud and one of the best Pyra/Mythra players alongside MkLeo and Cosmos and it's very easy to mix his name with the term GOAT (Greatest of All Time) which has happened due to his supreme skill at the game while being 15, notably being the 2nd best player in the world, surpassing even Tweek at that age.
- Sparg0 is the next MkLeo. Explanation Sparg0 is shown to have plenty of similarities with MkLeo, the current best player in the world. Both started as 15/16 year old Mexican prodigies who became the 2nd best players in the world at the time with Leo being #2 at Smash 4, both are masters of sword characters, both have great losers runs and like Korean culture such as K-Pop. This has lead people to claim that history will repeat itself and Sparg0 will overtake MkLeo similarly to how MkLeo overtook ZeRo in Smash 4.
- He needs it Explanation A stock phrase that makes fun of people for claiming that their character desperately needs That One Attack, a passive attribute such as a Comeback Mechanic among others, otherwise they would be bottom tier. Examples include Sephiroth's winged form (And the Super Armor that comes with it), characters like Sonic (Forward-smash), Sora and King K. Rool (Down-Smash) having Smash Attacks that basically serve as spot dodges with a hitbox and Kazuya having... well, everything but the kitchen sink.
- The Falco Agenda Explanation The idea was that Falco mains deliberately undersell the character's incredible strengths (including some borderline unloseable matchups) and constantly place him in low or mid-tier when making tier lists, either to prevent him from getting nerfed or to avoid criticism on using a supposedly overpowered character. To some, they continue the joke by saying that Falco mains now unrepentantly brag about how absolutely broken their character is now that he is at no risk of being nerfed any more. It has become an injoke on Larry Lurr's channel and has spread throughout the rest of the Smash community. People now often use the term "[character] agenda" for other characters that are insisted on being low or mid-tier that the user has trouble with or hates fighting against.
- "No one beats Maister x times in a row!" Explanation Enrique "Maister" Solís, the world's best Game & Watch player, is unusually prone to facing MkLeo (a fellow Mexico City native) late in major brackets; MkLeo just about always wins. As of Low Tide City, MkLeo has a 14-0 offline set record against Maister.
- R.O.B. is big. Explanation R.O.B. is by far the most common character in top 64 of majors, and the most common character overall. In spite of this, many R.O.B. players insist the character is not top 10 due to his large hurtbox making him combo food, in spite of his numerous other advantages, including a projectile that blocks opposing projectiles, a reflector that hits both sides multiple times and kills, many safe kill confirms... and the fact that his arms don't have hurtboxes, hurting their claim of him being too big. Other players have been using this to poke fun at R.O.B. mains, with many opponents considering the character much better then his mains say he is.
- KAZUYA MISHIMA Explanation During Smash Ultimate Summit 4, Japanese players Takuma "Tea" Hirooka and Naoto "ProtoBanham" Tsuji occasionally said KAZUYA MISHIMA in the voice of the announcer from Tekken after they win a game. Everyone get in on this and humorously said KAZUYA MISHIMA after every game, regardless if they win or not.
- QUIDD GAMES❗❗ Explanation Quidd is considered one of the best Pokemon Trainer players in the world when offline returned alongside Japanese PT player, Atelier. When Quidd won Let's Make Big Moves 2022, fans started spamming this in Twitch Chat in reference to the popular Squid Games❗❗ meme due to how similar his name is pronounced to the word Squid. The phase started returning when Quidd attended Collision and got top 8.
- Larryposting Explanation Larry Lurr is a very popular Smash player and content creator, which has caused fans to post pictures of him, with the most common one being him wearing a Mega Man shirt with a green jacket and red pants◊. These pictures got so popular that even Hideki Naganuma started posting about Larry Lurr on his Twitter.
