Manga
- How Cute Explanation Due to Shirogane's various imagine spots being centered around this phrase, this meme has spread around the fandom.
- Comme c'est mignon Explanation During Shirogane's Imagine Spot in chapter 20, Kaguya says her Catchphrase in French due to it being during a party hosting students from Paris. Discussions about the series will usually have this posted in response to anyone who writes "how cute".
- "NO.◊" Explanation This reaction face of Fujiwara has spawned many uses especially in forums. For context, Fujiwara is strongly objecting to Shirogane suggesting he try out another skill that he is completely inexperienced at.
- "Shut up, or I'll kill you.◊"Explanation Another Fujiwara reaction meme. This is from the end of chapter 157, after Ishigami worked out that Fujiwara's not burning as many calories as she thought she was.
- "It's a Romantic Comedy" Explanation A reference to the many◊ times that Kaguya does faces that don't really belong in a Romantic Comedy.
- Wiener Explanation In chapter 5, Kaguya was obsessed with eating some of Shirogane's lunch with particular attention being focused on his octopus shaped hot dogs or as the chapter called it, wiener. The implications was not lost on the fandom and whenever Kaguya shows any attraction to Shirogane, the word wiener is bound to come up. Chapter 27 reinforced this, with Kaguya bursting into laughing fits at the mere mention of the word.
- Chinchin. Explanation Another version of the meme, more notably used by Filthy Frank fans, due to the character "Chin Chin".
- /ourguy/ Explanation The nickname given to Ishigami due to his similarity to the fanbase and for stealing the show every time he makes an appearance. It's hard to find a forum discussing new chapters where the fans don't refer to Ishigami as /ourguy/.
- "I want to die, so I'm going home."
- "Oh, OK. Please don't die."
- Maki encouraging Ishigami to confess to Tsubame and offering to hang out with him if he gets rejected (despite her own relationship woes) earned her the similar title of /ourgirl/, particularly among those who now ship them together.
- "That was a lie!" Explanation Chapter 31 had a running gag where characters would say something, only for the narration to reveal that they were lying and what their true intentions were. Fans took to using the format when making comments about the series, especially after the joke resurfaced in chapter 105.
- "Hayasaka lied as naturally as she breathed" Explanation A statement about Hayasaka made in the manga that has been used in a similar manner to "That was a lie!", albeit less frequently.
- "Could this (wo)man be one of my people?" Explanation A ramen connoisseur entertains this thought over Fujiwara after seeing her make a very detailed order. This line gets edited plenty to highlight similarities between characters from many different works.
- JUSTICE FOR HAYASAKA Explanation Hayasaka is one of the most popular female characters in the series, but lacks a love interest of her own despite her desire for one. This ended up becoming the fandom's rallying cry.
- JUSTICE FOR MAKI Explanation Much like with Hayasaka, most fans want Maki to be able to get a boyfriend.
- RIP Karen Explanation (spoilers) After Karen's dramatic fainting and Blood from the Mouth when she caught a glimpse of Kaguya and Shirogane's first kiss, fans started joking that she had been killed from sheer joy. The fact that it took ten months real world time for her to show up again only perpetuated the joke.
- 40 seconds/4 pages Explanation In Chapter 138, Ishigami states that sex scenes in the magazine that Kaguya-sama is published in can occur if it is confined within 4 pages. Also, Kashiwagi tells Kaguya that sex occurs 40 seconds after a French kiss. Therefore, any reference to a future event where Kaguya and Shirogane... consummate their love is usually referred to in those terms.
- Baseball Team Explanation An earlier version from chapter 28 referring to Shirogane’s desire to have 9 children so that he can form a baseball team.
- Being Maki is suffering Explanation Maki frequently becoming depressed due to her unrequited love situation whenever it gets brought up. Especially prominent in the We Want to Talk About Kaguya spinoff, as Erika has a habit of praising Kashiwagi and her boyfriend's relationship in Maki's presence CONSTANTLY.
- It's still hard right now!! Explanation An out-of-nowhere penis joke included at the end that stood out for being the only comic relief moment in the otherwise serious and rather depressing Chapter 155.
- Nerd herder. Explanation The fandom's title for Onodera, after Chapter 158 showed her inexplicable interest in Ishigami/Iino/Tsubame's relationships.
- The daddy in the east Explanation A line from Hayasaka in a Japanese to Chinese to English translation of chapter 159. What was actually being said was "Shirogane's father has been sighted in the east exit."
- The Dark Stork Explanation One of Iino's poems repeatedly mentions a "dark stork", which terrifies Shirogane due to the unexpected tone .
- Nigerundayo!! Explanation A joke born from Chapter 189. Shirogane walks into a shipping war and is told to pick a side. His reaction is to promptly run away. Fans were quick to point out how fitting it was for Dio's son to use the infamous Joestar's family secret technique.
- Streamer KeiExplanation Chapter 191 reveals that Papa Shirogane gets lots of Superchat donations during a stream whenever Kei walks by the camera, which she has started to do on purpose, since it's much more lucrative than delivering newspapers, with her brother worrying to lose his sister to money. Fans went along with the joke, and even the author is in on this.
- Bruh Explanation Ishigami is in a catatonic state after being rejected by Tsubame, and the Student Council try to get him back to his old self. The thing that does him in is Fujiwara saying that she has never said anything stupid, to which Ishigami gave this reply. Expect this to get spammed in comments.
- Hayasaka's "Lucky Charm" Explanation i.e. a condom. In Chapter 219, Kaguya mentions that Hayasaka gave one to her as a "Lucky Charm", eerily mirroring the plot of a doujinshi of the series, where Hayasaka does the EXACT SAME THING. The fact that the author would reference a Doujinshi of his series drove fans insane, so the numbers of that doujinshi would come up every time the "lucky charm" is mentioned.
- WaluiinoExplanation In Chapter 227, Iino provides comfort to an emotionally vulnerable Ishigami by letting him lay on her lap. After Iino makes it clear to Fujiwara that she's gleefully enjoying this, Fujiwara is horrified and claims her "Inner Waluiino" is leaking out. This naturally lead to many images of Iino being drawn as Waluigi.
Anime
- Reddit discussion threads for the anime get an astounding amount of Reddit gold, silver, and sometimes platinum in mere hours. Considering that it takes real-world money to even give Reddit gold and doing so is recommended only if you really appreciate a thread, it's no surprise that many would joke that the Shinomiya conglomerate is the one with the funds and connections to accomplish this feat.
- Chika Dance Explanation Fujiwara's song and dance segment at the end of episode 3 of the anime exploded in popularity after it came out thanks to how completely unexpected and cute it was. Now people are claiming that thanks to it, anime is now saved.
- KONO PAPA DA Explanation Papa Shirogane shares his seiyuu with Dio. Given that his introductory scene has him answering the phone when Kaguya was expecting Shirogane, such a comparison was pretty much inevitable.
- Usually mentioning this brings up a Hilarious in Hindsight observation. Their sons (Giorno Giovanna, not any of Dio's other illegitimate children) are quite similar. Both are kind-hearted blonde teenagers that are leaders. (Shirogane being the Student Council President and Giorno often acting like a leader and eventually becoming the head of Passione.)
- Editing scenes replacing Papa Shirogane with Dio is also popular. Observe.
- I raised that boy. Explanation Fujiwara saying this to Kaguya after seeing the spectacular results of training Shirogane in volleyball from ground up. Often used as a reaction image to the situation where the training pays off wonderfully, such as introducing a friend to anime and them taking it in completely, or even examples related to the context of the meme.
- Sick Kaguya Explanation A shot of Kaguya◊ sick in bed from Episode 9 ended up becoming a popular exploitable image due to how adorable she looked.
- Stressed Chika Explanation Fujiwara's dawning realization at how bad Shirogane's volleyball skills are gets used as a reaction image to an escalating situation.
- OH LOVE ME, MISTA Explanation The first words of the first opening. It's usually spelled that way for obvious reasons.
- DADDY DADDY DO Explanation The first words of the very catchy second opening. It's quite memorable among fans for how hilarious it is.
- DADDY DADDY DIO Explanation Again another Fan Nickname for Papa Shirogane, based on the second opening song.
- Sniper Kaguya Explanation In the intro, Kaguya shoots an arrow. There are many edits of various characters getting shot, usually in an overly offensive but hilarious Mood Whiplash.
- Hey, Hey! Explanation Hayasaka calls out to Kaguya in Episode 16 with this line in a cheerful, passive aggressive tone while accompanied by a Face Framed in Shadow. Fans took to using it as an exploitable image.
- Social Distancing Explanation Funimation originally changed Shirogane's line "Why are you so far away from me?" to "What's the deal with the social distancing?" in relation to COVID-19 basic rule, until fan backlash caused them to change it back.
- SILENCE THIS SPOILER GIRL! Explanation Fujiwara accidentally spoils a plot twist for a Tear Jerking manga for Kaguya, prompting an enraged Shirogane to shout this as Ishigami slaps tape over her mouth. Fans began using it as a response to any unwanted spoilers.
- Miko Iino desk pat Explanation When Iino confronts Shirogane about the aforementioned manga incident she aggressively hits his desk. This has often been edited to be in time with memetic songs.
- Kei getting madExplanation When Kei acts rebellious with Shirogane in Season 2 episode 10, people noticed her slight change in expression greatly resembled a preexisting meme making fun of groups seen as overly subservient to a certain set of opnions. Thus, this template was born.
