Fricking the Mastermind Explanation Players are occasionally warned not to let their characters have relations with the Mastermind (romantic, sexual, or both). As the identity of the Mastermind is meant to be a tightly guarded secret that isn't publicly known until the end of the game, there is a decent chance that someone will end up unwittingly shipping with the Mastermind anyway. Ryo Yukimura in the first game, Eiji Oshirou in White, Ayako Itou and Sayuri Matsumoto in Alpha (though the latter was with Omega's Mastermind instead), Alice in Rot (though there wasn't an actual relationship, but one-sided romantic feelings), and Kaito Hamamoto, Mayumi Hanezuka, and Hayate Shimazaki in Rubble all find this out the hard way. (Counting predespair relations, Yuu Sagara and Takumi Yoshirou also had sex with Omega's Mastermind, but they have no recollection of that, sparing them the sense of betrayal that many of the others went through.
Even Masterminds themselves aren't safe from this, as seen with Yuuto and Wakana, and with Keita and Nao, although in both cases the players already knew about the other Mastermind and made their relationships into an important part about how their plans developed.
Don't make crews! Explanation A warning given out thanks to the tendency for groups created in the first few days to suffer heavy losses by the end of the game, occasionally being entirely wiped out.
Fujiwara Clan Explanation Four characters have had the surname of Fujiwara in the games, but only one has existed in each iteration. DA 2 Black had Shizuka Fujiwara, DA 3 Omega/Epsilon had Wakana no Fujiwara, DA 4 Rubble had Naohiro Fujiwara, and DA 5 Kaze had Daisuke Fujiwara. Popular theory and jokes between mods imply the Fujiwara Family tree is massive, and they are all distantly related to each other.

"I'll taste the X", "I'll lick the X", and other variants Explanation During the seventh investigation of White, powdery substances cover the surfaces of the bathroom where Kazuya is found in. Despite evidence that cyanide is involved in his death, Chris licks the substance right off the bathroom floor; thankfully, it turns out to be salt. However, Chris then offers to taste-test many other objects that are clearly laced with cyanide, forcing Monobear of all people to discourage him from getting himself killed. Not only does this help propel Chris to Memetic Badass levels, but characters in later cases and games call back to this by offering to taste-test suspect materials.
Naoto Ueyama is dead. (Occasionally phrased as "fucking dead") Explanation Said in reference to a survivor from White. On Naoto's blog, one proposed idea for his future was that he eventually went on a voyage to the Arctic. What little contact he has with others slows to a halt, and Naoto is never heard from again. Despite the hope some other players express, his own player is particularly insistent that he died out there.
Doubt Academy 3
Decapitation Academy Explanation A title sometimes given to Doubt Academy 3, thanks to the high number of decapitations that happened either during executions, during murders (post-mortem or otherwise), or even in the deadblog.
Ryota's obsession with heads Explanation He often tries to steal them for his own purposes, even during an ongoing murder investigation, and at one point decapitates himself to test the healing limits of the Isolation Ward. Becomes an Ascended Meme when his callback item in Rubble turns out to be Emiko's head inside a minifridge.
Death Floor Explanation The nickname given to the fourth floor in Alpha. By the end of the fourth chapter, three of the four residents on it were dead, two of them having died during said chapter. The surviving fourth was maimed by a prior incident. And in the seventh chapter, she too was killed, leaving the floor devoid of living students.
H U M A N A R M Explanation After Nicanor dies in Epsilon, in the deadblog Akira steals the dismembered arm and cooks a meal with it. Not only this, but Usoko joins in on the dinner, and Tamaki stumbles upon the leftover arm in the fridge a couple weeks later. As a result of this, the dismembered arm itself has become a joke.
An Ascended Meme as of Rubble. Poor Naohiro finds the severed, partially eaten arm in the Monomachine, as it's one of Akira's callback items. Later, in Rot, it's mentioned in public evidence lists when chapter seven's victim is found with a crocodile chewing on his arm.
"SMOKESCREEN!" Explanation In the deadblog, Yuuto tries to bring Lee back to life after she commits suicide in the courtroom. Trying to find some way to stop everyone from staring at him, he activates some smokebombs, shouting "SMOKESCREEN!" while doing so. An Ascended Meme during DA3 endgame when Robo-Yuuto uses smokebombs to conceal himself while changing clothes.
Doubt Academy 4
A dude's ass. The ass of a dude. Explanation The sight that Mickey is greeted with when Kaito takes a shower without realizing she's in the bathroom.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAあああああああああああ아아아아아아아아아아아아아아!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Explanation Her reaction.
Doubt Academy 5
Ambulance Crew Explanation A particularly disastrous version of the crew running gag, concerning Sun and the people who came to his aid after he was injured by Monobear. From that point on, every single pre-merge chapter someone in the group was executed (Haruka, Sun, Kin, Kenichi), with only one person (Yuuki) surviving into the merge.
