  • Sadist Teacher:
    • Inutsuka gave Nanami bad grades because she criticized her playing of music. Her mother had to bring in Momota, who is a famous music teacher to get her to see sense. She got scolded by the principal and she never bullied Nanami ever again.
    • Suzuki kept harassing Yota because he had brown hair. He insisted on being dyed black despite Yota's scalp being sensitive to hair dye. When Suzuki was scolded for his actions, he began to accuse Yota of things he never did to get back at him.
  • Sanity Slippage: At the end of "My sister messed up, but I ended up paying for her… But then…" Sayo's spoiled sister Hiromi gradually went insane and started to break everything in her parents' house after becoming a shut-in since her boyfriend dumped her, causing her parents to call Sayo for help, but she rejected the calls for all the abuse they put her through.
  • Scars Are Forever: When Eito confesses to Mitsuki as part of a penalty game, she shows a large scar on her stomach after she got surgery on her ovaries, causing her to be unable to have children. Eito ends up falling in love with Mitsuki for real and eventually marries her.
  • Schoolyard Bully All Grown Up: Takeda bullied Yuto in high school because the latter was into cosplay. Years later, when Yuto was invited to a matchmaking party by a co-worker, Takeda was there and he began to make fun of Yuto again, escalating into assault as he got drunker. Eventually, Yuto called the police and he was taken away. The last time Takeda was seen, he was in a gang and grew weed then disappeared when the police came.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!:
  • Second Love: In stories where the male protagonist is dumped by his previous girlfriend, he often ends up paired with another girl just as beautiful as the previous one, but also more loyal to him.
  • Serial Homewrecker: Discussed in "My girlfriend falls onto the ground with a red arm as a lady screams at her!" after Aya's recent scuffle with a waitress at a beachside café was uploaded to the internet. Her coworkers started calling her a "cheater" and a "devil who seduces men" after finding her past affair with a boss whose wife was the waitress' sister.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Yumi is normally a dressed down acupuncturist with nerdy glasses and bland hairstyle. However, when a model had an accident and Ryo called Yumi to check her injury, the model chose her as her substitute. One makeover later, and Yumi turns out to be a dead ringer to the model and saves the photo shoot.
  • Shower of Love: In "When I got home, my wife was taking a bath with a man I didn't know!" Shinichi called his cheating wife Rena while she was having her affair in the shower as retaliation for blackmailing his daughter Yuuka. When she and her lover came out of the shower, the lover turns out to be Yuuka's teacher Mr. Okada.
  • Shrinking Violet: Yumeka is very shy and not very flashy due to her heart problem. Later on, after her heart surgery, she became more confident.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: Defied in My father in law left me in the mountains, but then…. According to Mao, her father could have been criminally charged for the titular incident involving Kazuki—owing to Kazuki being clinically No Sense of Direction, this is already in the area of assault. However, in most of Pacific Asia (except former British and French colonies), alleged assault between family members requires the victim to press charges to prevent the State from unnecessarily interfering in private affairs. In this case, Mao's mother declines to press charges against her husband (the titular father-in-law) mainly to avoid the social stigma of being a felon's family.
  • Sleeping Their Way to the Top: Kumiko cheated on Yusuke with an entertainment producer to make their daughter, Mai, into a model. Moreover, she planned to dump Yusuke and live off of the girl instead once she became successful. However, Kumiko used most of the money given to her by the producer on frivolities. However, it all comes to a head when Yusuke divorces and sues her for damages.
  • Sleeping with the Boss:
    • "My girlfriend falls onto the ground with a red arm as a lady screams at her!": Aya became known for this at her part-time job, but she dumped the man when his wife and sister-in-law held her accountable. Thus her fling broke the couple apart and the ex-wife fell into depression, for which her younger sister wants to make Aya pay.
    • "My colleague posted this picture of me online, but then…": Fujikura is revealed to have slept with the manager when the embarrassing photo she uploaded of Mirei more showed her kissing the manager in the background. She desperately tries to delete the photo but it was too late as the CEO called both her and the manager in. Turns out she hooked up with the manager to get Mirei transferred to a different department.
  • Speech Impediment: Baba, Haruto's mentor and bully, speaks with a thick lisp.
  • Spit Take: Takumi spits his coffee when Keisuke messaged him that he was divoricing Ayano. Turns out she faked a part-time job to cover up her affair with another guy.
  • Spoiled Brat:
    • Yuto from My own foster family hated me was spoiled all his life thanks to his parents taking their niece Ami in just to get money from the grandmother. Years later after Ami left the house, he squanders the inheritance money after said grandmother's passing, sinking himself and his parents in debt and forcing them to sell their house. One year later, he ended up in jail for committing petty crimes and shoplifting.
    • Miki Sato is a stuck-up rich girl who stole valuable things from other girls with impunity since her father was a powerful city council member.
    • Rika was a spoiled young woman who abused her husband Haruto after their Arranged Marriage and cheated on him with his flashy college best friend Toru. When Haruto confronted her for that, she and her father, the latter of which was Haruto's boss, chewed him out and justified that Rika can do whatever she wants in the marriage, which led to him divorcing the spoiled brat.
  • Stalker with a Crush: When Mana finds a bug (spying device) in her room, she freaks out and accuses her otaku brother of it since he liked little sisters. However, when she realized it wasn't him because he isn't interested in real girls, she points at her crush Ryogo, but he distrusts her and asks her to break up with him. After a heated discussion, she discovered it wasn't him either, but her best friend Misaki, who also had a crush on Ryogo.
  • Stalker without a Crush: Maho deliberately assaults a pregnant woman to the point where she must be rushed into a hospital for getting in the way when she goes for a job interview at a company. Unfortunately for her, one of the interviewers immediately tells her that she will not be hired, because Maki, whose boyfriend was stolen by Maho, turns out to be an employee who was sent by the company to observe her from the moment she left her house for the interview to make sure that she is suitable for the job.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Tadaha Eriko was taller than most people due to inheriting it from her father. It made her a target of bullying when she moved to Japan.
  • Story Arc:
  • invokedStreisand Effect: This story has an In-Universe example at Chiyo's wedding. When the paparazzi started to hound the groom with questions about his involvement in a corruption scandal after a drunk guest spilled the beans on him, he has them and the gossiping guests kicked out. However, it only made things worse as the man was taken to court several times and was eventually found guilty.
  • Stealing the Credit: Hideki stole his brother Daiki's illustrations and poems and claimed them as his own, though Saori is aware that these were made by Daiki, so she and Daiki decide to expose Hideki at the school contest by having an illustration showdown between the brothers to prove that the illustrations were Daiki's. After Hideki was exposed for stealing the credits for Daiki's illustrations, Saori rejects his confession publicly and calls him out for his misdeeds, and his friends and followers also start drifting away from him.

  • Take That!: A story where a girl is forced by her parents to marry an overweight, unattractive man in exchange for money to pay of their debt is titled "My toxic parents made me marry an ugly Discord mod but…"
  • Teacher/Parent Romance:
  • Threat Backfire:
    • Takada threatens Yuji to get his father to fire him for making him do paperwork despite the latter being the former's superior. However, Yuji then reveals that he will be promoted to the vice president position and all of the board members including Takada's father will be replaced by the company's stakeholders, due to a rumor of him and some board members being involved in a corruption case, causing them to be fired, this renders Takada powerless and he quits the company later.
    • A housewife and her husband who claims to be a lawyer attempt to extort Takashi out of money for calling out their son for trespassing in the yard around his house while it was actually the housewife's fault for letting her son going there without Takashi's permission. Fortunately, Takashi's wife is a real lawyer who shows her badge to the couple and there are also several security cameras around the house recording everything they did, causing them to be arrested and they eventually move out of the neighborhood.
    • Hataoka is a manager of a company who threatens to fire the younger employees for refusing to do a job with an impossible deadline, they don't object to his threat and resign in front of him. After his transfer to a branch in the middle of nowhere, the employees retracted their resignations.
    • Kawamura threatens to fire Tanaka for helping a man and also looks down on him for being a high school graduate, he and the other employees decide to quit because they are also high school graduates.
    • Akina threatens her husband Shunsuke that he won't be able to live on his own if he divorces her, he replies back by handing her the divorce papers, causing her to weep and beg him to not divorce her.
    • Yuko threatens to divorce Shinichi and get her father to stop ordering from his parents' company because he refused to do more house chores for her just because he works for said company. Shinichi laughs and happily agrees with the divorce as he already has evidence of her cheating on him with another man and his company doesn't have to rely on Yuko's parents' kindergarten anymore because they've been receiving orders online.
  • Title Drop: The episode "The dark side of entertainment producers…" has one at the end after the affair between Kumiko and the producer to make Mai a model became public, with the title being half of the article's headline.
  • Troubled Fetal Position: All antagonists that end up becoming a shut-in after receiving their Humiliation Conga end up appearing in this position.

  • Wasted Beauty: Aya from "My girlfriend falls onto the ground with a red arm as a lady screams at her!" is a pretty young woman who turns out to be known for having a past fling with a former boss behind his wife's back. While Aya's parents paid the alimony for her, she never apologized to the man's wife or sister-in-law. Moreover, she only dated Fuyuki for being the only one unaware of her past and used him to bully other female employees until the beachside café incident, when the waitress showed Fuyuki a recording of Aya gloating about being prettier than the boss' ex-wife while disparaging the poor woman for being an introvert. After that, she even manipulated her current boss into bullying Fuyuki for refusing to give her the time of day.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Saori and Yuko were best friends until the latter gets married to a rich man, which gradually changes her attitude and starts to look down on the former, especially when she brings up her marriage to factory worker Yohji.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Haruka was scouted by a modelling agency which turned out to be a scam. They sold Yuki to a rich family to pay the debt. Haruka basically disappeared after the scam and was never mentioned again.
  • Wicked Stepmother:
    • Rena became abusive towards her stepdaughter Yuuka after marrying Shinichi, even to the point of locking her out of the house whenever her lover showed up.
    • Maria bullied Haruto when they were in elementary and middle school. When Haruto's father marries Maria's mother, Reiko, she resumes bullying Haruto verbally with her mother joining in tormenting him. Reiko also only married him to get their family inheritance when he dies. It's later revealed that Haruto and his step-family were never officially family in the first place, because his father never turned in the marriage papers.
    • Yuki's stepfather treated Yuki coldly throughout her childhood, he eventually crosses the line by forcing her to get married with a man without her consent to pay Haruka's debt.
  • Wingding Eyes: When Kanako begged Tetsuya to take her back upon finding out his company was successful overseas, her eyes display the Japanese kanji for gold (金), which is also the symbol for money.
  • Worst Wedding Ever: During Seiya and Mariko's wedding, Seiya and Mariko are approached by Seiya's boss' secretary, who reads a letter from the CEO. In the letter, the CEO expresses his disappointment in Seiya for looking down on and making fun of his own brother, Satoshi, just because he did not go to college. The CEO then reveals that he has a positive opinion of Satoshi due to his company being business partners with the company Satoshi works for and that, ever since Satoshi started working there, the costs have been kept lower than before. After revealing that the reason he had originally planned to go to Seiya's wedding was because Satoshi is Seiya's brother, he states that he has decided to not attend because of Seiya's negative treatment of Satoshi. He then reveals that the company's CFO is also a high school graduate and tells Seiya to come to his office the next time he comes into work. Afterwards, Seiya starts freaking out, knowing that he will probably be fired, with Mariko then revealing that she already quit her job and telling Seiya to not get fired. The wedding continued, but everyone was nervous the entire time, with the groom's side being empty, and it ended in a very awkward mood.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Kaito was about to hit his female manager for supposedly being useless and talking back to him. Fortunately, Akihiro stopped him before he could hit her.
  • Wrong-Name Outburst: Mizuki accidentally called her Yosuke "Masato" when they were talking about planning the wedding which ends up exposing her affair to Yosuke.

  • Yakuza: Kazuma was rescued by a Yakuza member and wanted to be like them, including getting himself a tattoo on his back. However, his admiration fell apart after they told him to do things he didn't want to do.
  • You're Not My Father:
    • Tatsuma doesn't want anything to do with both of his parents because they neglected him in favor of his brother who later became a deadbeat shut-in after failing to be a model.
    • Natsuki wants nothing to do with her mother Akemi, who prioritized horrible men over her, prefering to be with her step-father Yusuke, who at least showed that he cared about her.
