Just an everyday babysitter and his charge.

After potentially putting a peace treaty into jeopardy, Toru Kirishima, the "Demon of Sakuragi," is summoned by his boss who imparts him with the hardest challenge of his life: babysitting his daughter Yaeka. Thus begins the hilarious misadventures of a babysitter who happened to work for the Yakuza.

The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting (Kumichō Musume to Sewagakari, "The Yakuza Boss' Daughter and her Caretaker") is a seinen manga written and illustrated by Tsukiya. It began serialization on the Comic Ride website in June 2018 before moving to Micro Magazine's Comic Elmo. It received an anime adaptation in July 2022.

The manga provides examples of:

  • All Just a Dream: In episode 4, Kirishima has a nightmare where his boss forces him to make YouTube videos to enlist more agents and later forms a boy band.
  • Blatant Lies: When Kirishima notices that the thugs he had beaten up yesterday are tailing him and Yaeka, he tells Yaeka that they were playing red light green light with them. Yaeka calls him out for his lies when they don't show up.
  • Butt-Monkey: Sugihara is this, regularly suffering misfortune, usually at Kirishima's hands.
  • Child Care and Babysitting Stories: The entire premise involves the Yakuza member Kirishima being asked to take on the most difficult job ever — taking care of his boss' daughter, Yaeka, that is. Kirishima learns that family isn't always bound by blood as he bonds with Yaeka.
  • Comedic Sociopathy: Kirishima only became the Sakuragi family's right-hand man as an excuse to act up on his aggressive urges.
  • Delicate and Sickly: Yaeka's mother Miyuki is this, being hospital-bound and at times not even conscious.
  • The Dreaded: Kirishima is called the Demon of Sakuragi for a reason. His definition of "having a polite conversation" is brutally beating his enemies.
  • Floral Motifs: The Sakuragi family is associated with cherry blossoms.
  • Missing Mom: Yaeka's mother is a patient at the hospital who had fallen into a coma.
  • Neighbourhood-Friendly Gangsters: The Sakuragi family are noted as being unusually affable for a mob organisation, to the point where the people they go after tend to be crooks, murderers and greedy loan sharks. Case in point, Kirishima is violent but has a very strict code he sticks to, and former member Aoi is shown to be a good hearted family man. Kazuhiko himself is shown to be a Benevolent Boss.
  • Papa Wolf:
    • Kazuhiko threatens to kill Kirishima if he let anything dangerous happen to his daughter.
    • When Yaeka is kidnapped and injured by a rival gang, Kirishima reverts to his "demon persona" and severely beats the crap out of the assailant.
  • Parents as People: Kazuhiko clearly does care for Yaeka, but his position as The Don of the Sakuragi group means he tends to be busy and not spend as much time as he'd like with her.
  • The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: For as much as they are supposed to be Yakuza, they don't seem to ever do any sort of crime.
  • Psycho for Hire: Kirishima only became interested in the position of being the righthand man to the Sakuragi Clan because he had an outlet to indulge in his violent impulses.
