MADK (Motsu Akuma to Danshi Koukousei) is a manga written and illustrated by Sumiyoshi Ryo that mixes elements of psychological horror, and romance.

"MADK!!" provides examples of:

  • Beast with a Human Face: Makoto's head is sewn onto a dog body for a short time.
  • The Blank: Datenshou no facial features.
  • Body Horror: Makoto's head is gruesomely separated from his body, sewn onto a dog body, before finally receiving a replacement human body.
  • Character Development: Initially Makoto is introduced as a meek, and sympathetic character, although shown to have dark tendencies. After a time leap, he has transformed into a overtly conniving and manipulative person.
  • Demon of Human Origin: Makoto used to be a human prior to meeting J.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Makoto has disturbing inclinations and fantasies. This distress him, and he wishes to die before he hurts anyone.
  • It Was a Gift: Makoto receives a gold medallion from J, with the initial 'W' etched into it. J received from his master and passed it onto Makoto.
  • Manof Wealth And Taste: J has very opulent tastes in clothing and decoration.
  • No Poker Face: As noted by Makoto/M, Datenshou is very easy to read despite having no facial features.
  • One-Letter Name:
    • Makoto begins to go by M.
    • J's true name is unknown, and he's referred to as J for lack of other options.
  • Only Sane Man: Despite being a demon Datenshou is straight-laced, and is horrified by some of J's antics.
  • Really 700 Years Old: J has an appearance of a young man, in chapter 7 Fjord states J recently turned 700.
  • Summoning Ritual: The series starts with Makoto summoning J through a ritual.
  • Third Eye: J has a third eye on his forehead.
