Yukitaka Shiki is a struggling substitute teacher who will lose his current job after the teacher he is subbing for comes back from her maternity leave. One day, he meets a mysterious woman at a bar who asks him if he would kill a murderer for 5 million yen. In Shiki's first mission, he and his partner Kuzumi stumble upon the room of his target's psychic teenage daughter, Itsuki Yamashina. Itsuki begs to join Shiki and Kuzumi, as she wants to eradicate the world of evil people like her father. Shiki agrees to take her in, and he has to juggle this responsibility on top of his new Professional Killer job.

Kimi no Knife is a psychological mystery drama written and illustrated by Yua Kotegawa. The manga is complete with 10 volumes.


Tropes:

  • Bound and Gagged:
    • In chapter 1, Shiki and Kuzumi is bound and gag Yamashina as they prepare to kill him.
    • In chapter 3, Itsuki gets rolled up into a blanket and gagged so that she can be transported to Shiki's house without much fuss.
  • Deadly Delivery: In chapter 1, Shiki and Kuzumi pretend to be cable inspection workers in order to infiltrate into their target's home and kill him.
  • Destination Defenestration: In chapter 1, a student gets thrown out of a window during a fight. Shiki manages to catch the lower half of the student's body just before he falls out.
  • Psychometry: Itsuki can read the minds and histories of any person or object she touches.
  • Sleep Deprivation: Shiki has a hard time going to sleep after completing his first hit because he can't get his mind off of the murder.
  • Stress Vomit: Shiki goes to the bathroom to vomit after he hears the news report about Kazuo Yamashina's murder because the cold reality of it is too much for him to bear.
