In a World… where most of the land has been turned into a vast desert by an apocalypse in the distant past, a lone food truck drives along from town to town. Its driver, a man with a mysterious past known only as Gordon, comes across a young woman sleeping naked in the middle of the road, swerving to avoid running her over. Her name is Arisa, and if there's one thing she loves to do, it's eat. The two travel together, with Gordon whipping up spectacular dishes and Arisa putting them away just as fast. But Arisa is wanted by Vald, a shadowy military organization, and they will stop at nothing to capture her!

Crazy Food Truck, written and illustrated by Rokurou Ogaki, was serialized on Shinchosha's Monthly Comic @Bunch manga website from July 2020 to December 2021. Viz Media licensed the series for English publication.

This manga provides examples of:

  • Artificial Human: Arisa and Myna are both part of the "Doll" program, clones made from Colonel Sarah's cells.
  • Big Eater: Arisa can eat way more than anyone would expect for someone of her size, and loves every bite.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Arisa and Gordon are killed by Vald, but Kyle, Tanaka, and Myna carry on their legacy with a new food truck named after them.
  • Chef of Iron: Gordon has to be a badass to survive in the wastelands, plus he's ex-military.
  • Clark Kenting: Gordon "disguises" himself by wearing glasses and a bandana on his head. He doesn't even use a false name, which makes it easy for the military to discover who he is once he gets on their radar.
  • Crucified Hero Shot: When Arisa is captured by Towata, they display her in a cross-shaped cage filled with some kind of fluid keeping her unconscious, or at least unable to move.
  • Escaped from the Lab: Arisa escaped from Vald's "Doll" program.
  • Faking the Dead: Gordon faked his own death after an Assassination Attempt which was foiled by Kyle and Sarah, but they told everyone it succeeded.
  • Fat Bastard: Colonel Diego, whose men have taken over Blue Lake City, is a very fat man and a cruel overlord.
  • From Camouflage to Criminal: Gordon and Arisa visit Blue Lake City, and help liberate them from a gang of military deserters.
  • Healing Factor: Arisa (and her little "sister" Myna) can heal within a day from wounds that would take much longer for normal people. When she stops healing quickly, Gordon realizes something is wrong.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Arisa is frequently naked, and even when she's clothed doesn't wear much. Since she's an Artificial Human who Escaped from the Lab, she doesn't know or care about nudity taboos (plus, wearing less clothing in the desert makes sense, at least during the day).
  • Mysterious Past: Both Gordon and Arisa have secrets in their past: Gordon is a former Vald general who faked his own death, and Arisa is an Artificial Human who Escaped from the Lab.
  • Relationship Upgrade: In the final chapter, Gordon and Arisa kiss and have sex for the first time in the food truck, right before the military catches up to them.
  • Sand Is Water: There are still isolated lakes, like in Towata, but many areas of sand have sea life in them, like squid and oysters. Gordon mentions that life "adapted and evolved" (in only a few hundred years since the Unspecified Apocalypse).
  • Standard Post-Apocalyptic Setting: The outback variant, where the entire world seems to have become a desert wasteland, with weird mutant animals and safe settlements few and far between.
  • Super-Strength: Arisa can take down a 50-foot-tall squid with a single karate chop.
  • Supreme Chef: Gordon's food is delicious to anyone who tastes it, though usually it's just him and Arisa.
