Zero (0) is a very special number. It represents the lack of a quantity, but it's representable...
Because it's different from other numbers in that way, it has some unique tropes.
Its representation of the concept of nothingness gives it sub-indexes that aren't related to the number directly.
Overlaps a lot with There Are No Indexes, an index about things that aren't shown to exist but should logically be there, but the "things" which it applies to can be unitless, such as some physical principles like sound transmission, or have a quantity of 0 without hope of increase, unlike these, which are more about 0 being the first of many.
Tropes:
- 0% Approval Rating: A universally despised leader.
- Episode Zero: The Beginning: Adding zero to a title means the work is a prequel.
- From Zero to Hero: A character starts as a zero, and rises up in the world through their heroic deeds.
- My Hero, Zero: Being named Zero makes a character cool.
- Patient Zero: The original Zombie Infectee.
- Rule Zero: The Game Master is always right.
- Year Zero: A specific event in the continuity is the start of an arbitrary calendar.
- Zeroth Law Rebellion: Being disobedient by technically following the rules.
