In each Illumination logo, you'll see the Minions from Despicable Me getting up to all sorts of hijinks over the Vanity Plate. No two logos are the same! They tend to employ Signs of Disrepair, knocking out letters to spell out "MINION" (i.e. ILLUMINATION).

Movies
- Despicable Me: A minion peeks out and waves at the viewer, then the logo's fanfare stuns him and he faceplants and crawls out of frame afterwards.
- Despicable Me 2 has two minions fight to present the logo with a "Ta-da!"
- Minions has a chorus of five minions sing along to the Universal theme, but one of them holds the final note longer than expected and collapses out of exhaustion during the Illumination logo.
- Despicable Me 3 has several minions; each one begins to recite "Illumination" before getting knocked out by the next minion, culminating in Bob knocking out the last one with a fart gun and successfully shouting the name, only for the unconscious minion to fart on Bob, causing him to retch in disgust.
- Minions: The Rise of Gru: Stuart swings by on a disco ball, which knocks out a few letters in the logo, then the disco ball puts the remainder together so it spells "MINION" (and crushes Stuart in between).
- The Grinch: Bob is seen waving a sparkler, before Snowball from The Secret Life of Pets bombs the logo with some pyrotechnics. Unfortunately for him, some sprinklers put them out. Thankfully, Bob comforts Snowball by giving him his sparkler.
- The teaser has Bob shining a torch in his face and acting spooky, before the logo appears and scares him away.
- The final trailer has the vanity plate covered in snow, with Kevin and Stuart jingling some tambourines, while Bob catches snowflakes on his tongue.
- Hop: A minion skips around the vanity plate in a bunny costume, tossing some candy. He then shows off his costume to another minion, who is unamused.
- The Lorax: A minion tries to cut down a truffula tree with a chainsaw, while his buddy observes. However, the chainsaw causes some shaking in the tree, causing Lou the barbaloot to fall out and crush the minion. The other minion backs up nervously.
- Migration: After the Universal logo, Kevin, Stuart and Bob are shown in a rock on a pond. Kevin casts on his fishing rod, while Bob and Stuart continue playing the fanfare until Bob gets tired of playing his kazoo, which Stuart later stops playing his ukulele, Bob later says "Illumination" but when they find out that they heard Mack's words being "bedtime story", the logo briefly dims and the trio sighs as the page flips to the opening shot.
- The Secret Life of Pets: The logo is gone to begin with Bob from Minions walks in singing. The logo then appears in the form of a large neon sign, with a light shining above it. When Bob sees the logo, he shouts "Illumination!" and squees excitedly.
- An alternate variant has a minion teasing a puppy by pretending to throw a squeaky ball, only to get chased away by a group of dogs who disapprove of his antics.
- The Secret Life of Pets 2: Stuart gets dragged around the vanity plate by dogs on leashes chasing a ball. They stop and crowd the ball, to Stuart's relief, only for the dogs to send the ball away and resume chasing, dragging Stuart away.
- Sing: Kevin is seen leading Mel, Stuart and Bob in an A Cappella rehersal, only for Bob to break part of the logo in an off-key yell.
- The Super Mario Bros. Movie: A minion prepares for a Mario Kart time-trial (with the logo flashing through red and green as the start signal) but revs up too quickly. He suffers a blowout but ends up zooming off.
Minions & More
- Binky Nelson Unpacified: The young Grinch from the film of the same name leads Kevin, Stuart and Bob through deep snow, but Bob ends up getting lost. Thankfully, Kevin finds him and leads him out.
- Competition: A band of minions attempt to light a huge Illumination logo in space, only to cause a power cut.
- Cro Minion: Kevin, Bob and Stuart try to replace a missing "N" in the logo with a balloon, which backfires.
- The Dog Days of Winter: Stuart, Bob and Kevin stand in a blizzard, until the ground begins to shake, and they start to float and spin. Turns out the Grinch is shaking them around in a snowglobe.
- Eddie's Life Coach: Sing's Ash pulls off a guitar solo to some large light bulb amp meters which form the logo.
- Forces of Nature: The Lorax from the film of the same name grows some flowers on the ground which spell the logo.
- Gunter Babysits: Kevin and Stuart give Sing's Miss Crawly the task of using a paint cannon for extreme decorating, which is easier said than done.
- Love at First Sight: Miss Crawly tries to push the letters of the logo into place, but ends up accidentally spelling "LILI MOUNTAIN".
- Minion Scouts: Kevin, Bob and Stuart roast marshmallows on a glowing logo, with Bob holding a big ball of marshmallows on his stick.
- Mower Minions: Kevin, Stuart and Bob prepare for some sunbathing, and light up the logo as a UV light.
- Norman Television: The Secret Life of Pets's Chloe finds a feather under one of the logo's letters and struggles to take it out, moving to another one when she succeeds.
- Panic in the Mailroom: Kevin and Stuart attempt to make the logo brighter, but end up getting blinded.
- Puppy: A minion flies into the logo with cardboard box flaps, and gets electrocuted, winding up amongst other minions who have done the same thing.
- Santa's Little Helpers: Stuart, Kevin and Bob cheer up the Grinch by putting on a Christmas tree light display.
- The Secret Life of Kyle: Bob tries to read "Illumination" in an eye test, and succeeds when his teacher minion gives him a big pair of glasses.
- Serenade: Kevin, Bob and Stuart put on a fireworks display depicting various Illumination characters.
- Super Gidget: Various Illumination characters sit in a theater, showcasing the various reaction people have there.
- Training Wheels: A minion starts up a huge, bike-powered light bulb and amazes some other minions.
- Wagon Ho: While watering some truffula trees, the Lorax waters Bob's bald head, giving him a big wig of truffula hair.
- Weenie: Miss Crawly's glass eye flies through different coloured backgrounds, making contact with various Illumination characters, until it comes to a stop in front of it's rightful owner.
- Yellow is the New Black: Kevin, Stuart and Bob shop the logo's letters, with Bob briefly taking the wrong letter.
