Yo, Cecilia (Spanish for "I, Cecilia") is a Web Original teen novel wrote by Mexican author Alejandra Govea Hernandez (known as "Ale Alejandra").

Tells the story about an Ordinary High-School Student (with some heavy Deadpan Snarker tendencies) named Cecilia; she sees HER dream come true when Nicolas finally shows some interest in her after a study night. Everything seems perfect...until it turns out she's pregnant...with another boy. Hilarity Ensues (and yeah, some drama too).

A well played drama that has gained some respect and attention of several readers from across the Spanish-speaking writing sites.

This story contains examples of:

  • All Men Are Perverts: With a special emphasis on male nerds; referenced in episode 5.
Cecilia: I know the last thing I want is having people staring me shaking my ass to Lady Gaga songs
  • Author Appeal: Includes possible castings for the characters and music from actors and musicians the author enjoys.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Cecilia has compared her life and situation to telenovelas and/or teen dramas a couple of times.
  • Mr. Fanservice: Nicolas, mostly.
  • Self-Deprecation: Cecilia, from time to time.
  • Shout-Out: From artists like Lady Gaga to the Twilight book saga and even some The Lord of the Rings in there.
  • Spiritual Antithesis: The book is this to El Club de Hopewell, being comedies heavy in pop culture references and posmodernist self-awareness, but while Hopewell is usually surreal and humor-oriented, "Yo Cecilia" takes a more slighty dramatic and realistic angle.
  • Spiritual Successor: The book may be seen as Spanish speaking version of Juno.
  • Squick: In-Universe, the beginning of episode 7:
Cecilia: Urinate in a plastic cup in front of your best friend, it's one of the most disgusting things anybody can do.
  • Stage Mom: Cecilia had thoughts of becoming one of these, signing on her future baby to pageants and contests, but those ideas were more a joke than anything else.
  • Stupid Sexy Flanders: Not that extreme, but even Cecilia admits Rebecca is very good looking.
  • Teen Pregnancy: The main plot device.
  • Where the Hell Is Springfield?: Judging by the names, it is obvious that the book takes place somewhere in Latin America, most likely Mexico, but it's never stated anything clear.
