Eddie's awesome Opel Astra
Under a Freezing Moon is a 2019 sci-fi - supernatural novella by Asi Hart.Eddie works as a security guard. He has decided to work both the day and night shifts, consecutively, because he's a workaholic and the work is way too easy.
At first he just drives around, listening to the radio and making sure all is like it is supposed to be. He ends up having to deal with a mad scientists and zombies.
Tropes in this novella include:
- Alien Blood: the Zombies don't bleed red.
- The Alleged Car: Eddie's Opel isn't exactly awesome to begin with, but gets infinitely worse as the story progresses.
- The Government: the Zombies are a government project.
- Mind Screw: Eddie never finds out how much of his adventures really happened. Just that it was enough to land him in jail. Considering that The Government is involved, it might have been all of them.
- Necromancer: Dr. Henenlotter just brings bodies to life... sort of.
- Shotguns Are Just Better: Italian semi-automatic shotguns are best.
- The Stoic: Eddie is oddly calm about most of the happenings.
- Soul Eating: Henenlotter tells Eddie that "there's something out there that kills the soul."
