Literature / Threadbare Friends With Bunny Feets

Go To

It has been years since King Melos I was defeated and the dungeons surrounding and incorporating Cylvania were shut down. However, just because there's peace, it doesn't mean they don't have enemies. Enemies within, enemies without. And between the Republic of Cylvania and her enemies stands a little bear and his friends.

Threadbare at the beginning of his new adventure
Once upon a time, there was a teddy bear.Brought to life by a kind but foolish golem-maker, he had a great deal of adventures.
He saved his little girl, made many friends, fought daemons and tyrants, and saved the land.
And for a while, it was good.
But the teddy bear was wise enough to know that very, very few people get to live happily ever after. And, indeed, he soon had more woes mixed in with the joys.
So, he enjoyed happiness when he could, but every now and then he would whisper "Status," to keep an eye on how he was growing.
And this is what he saw.

Bunny hopping into tropeland

  • Faking the Dead: Copperfield fakes his death early in the book so he can run around and be a menace on behalf of his mysterious benefactors without raising suspicion.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Threadbare just trust everyone until given a reason not to. So when he runs into a ship full of obvious pirates... he helps patch up their ship and send them on their way. Bye, new friends!
  • More Teeth than the Osmond Family: The boss monster in the forest is the mother of all mimics, a ginormous creature that has infested an entire castle.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Cecilia isn't dealing well with her life as a woman of peace on the Cylvanian council.
  • Shout-Out: When Threadbare shoves the two Reason mid-bosses into the lava pool, each one sticks up a hand that gives a thumbs up (even though they don't have hands). For some reason, this makes Threadbare sad.
