"By what authority did God fix a ceiling beyond which the human race could not progress? When Maria looks back on her life, she finds this is the first time it crosses her mind, even in idle daydreams, to ask whether it was possible to kill God and steal His power."
TGWPGWAS is a short story written on LiveJournal by squid314 about a world where there exists a "telluric field" which mysteriously limits technological potential. The protagonist, a happy-go-lucky sociopath, gets pricked by experimental drugs that give her immortality. After a few centuries of playing the part of her own "daughters" she decides to study the field, in spite of the astoundingly high mortality rate in the tellurological professions.

This work provides examples of:
- Applied Phlebotinum: The convenient field that holds back technological progress and that kills off anyone but the protagonist.
- Godhood Seeker: The end goal of the protagonist.
- The Noun Who Verbed: The title.
- Stable Time Loop: All of the "accidents" and the field are just a big "prank" pulled by the protagonist's future self.
