- Logan has the ability to hear the dead and see a supernatural entity that others can’t see. Hearing the dead cry out to him near constantly takes a toll on him mentally and has him questioning his own sanity. His coping methods to tolerate the constant noise also isolate him from others.
- Glenny’s ability to read minds combined with her tendency to say things before thinking puts her at odds with her peers as she reveals things that she shouldn’t know. She is a lonely young woman at the start of the series for this reason.
- Determinator: In “Call From the Crossroads” when Glenny is kidnapped, Logen goes to save her. This is in spite of his broken ribs, torn stitches, cut up feet, concussion and his being heavily dosed with Vicodin after surviving a car wreck
- Embarrassing First Name: Logan goes by his middle name. His given name Remington is only used by his parents or by his sister when he is in trouble.
- Extreme Mêlée Revenge: Burns getting his head crushed to a pulp with a baseball bat at the hands of Glenny post kidnapping. See also Pummeling the Corpse
- Heroic BSoD: Implied to have happened before the start of the series to Logan between his post-war PTSD and the loss of his wife, Maria. He was committed to a mental hospital.
