Suzy's Strange Saga is a CYOA by End Master on Choose Your Story. It is a sequel to the Good Girl branch of Tales From The Basement, another story by the same author. In that story, Suzy meets characters from several other works by End Master.

While there are several stories within the same universe, Suzy is the lynchpin that ties them all together.

Stories in the Suzyverse with their own pages:

Stories in the Suzyverse whose tropes go on this page:

  • Love SICK: It's a serial killer-mad scientist's anniversary with his sister.
  • Repression: Just a day in the life of a high school boy who has a lot of repressed feelings.
  • Suzy's Strange Saga: The direct sequel to Tales From The Basement, which focuses on Suzy McCray's adventures in trying to find a job and surviving a nuclear apocalypse and is the story in which all stories in the Suzyverse are tied together.
  • Tales From The Basement: Choose one of three basement-dwelling adults to play as.
  • TRASH: A day in the life of a fine specimen of trailer trash as he either tries his hand at working or continues to avoid it like the plague.

Examples of tropes in the Suzyverse:

    open/close all folders

     Love SICK
  • Ax-Crazy: Among many, many other incidents, Leslie beheads a girl scout and does the Mexican hat dance around her body while naked.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: A large part of the story is that it is Leslie and Lilith's anniversary. They are also siblings.
  • Couldn't Find a Pen: In one path, the protagonist writes his love poem on the wall in blood. His sister is not overly pleased.
  • Extremely Short Timespan: Love SICK takes place entirely on the main character's anniversary.
  • Fingore: One of the victims has clarinet reeds shoved under the fingernails.
  • High-Pressure Blood: The girl scout's blood is like a fountain.
  • Slipping a Mickey: The Mormons who show up in one path are given drugged milk.
  • Villainous Incest: Leslie and Lilith's relationship sure is incest and they sure ain't heroic.

     Repression

  • Axes at School: The main character can commit a shotgun massacre in his school if the player wishes it so.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: The main character and his sister have a romantic relationship in one path, as well as the famous Group Hug.
  • Control Freak: The Protagonist's mother.
  • Driven to Suicide: One of the more common bad ending.
  • Extreme Doormat: The Protagonist. There are several instances when the player can change this, most of which ends horribly.
  • I Love the Dead: The Protagonist can, uh, do things to his mother's body right after he killed her.
  • Parental Incest: Several opportunities for it, most infamously the Group Hug, in which the main character has a threesome with his mother and sister.
  • Self-Made Orphan: In one route, the Protagonist can kill his mother.
  • Sibling Murder: The Protagonist's sister isn't off the limit.
  • Suicide by Cop: One possible ending after the Protagonist kill everyone in his school.

     Suzy's Strange Saga
  • Brother–Sister Incest: The Morningstars practice this frequently, and Bobby Morningstar left his sister to be with Suzy. It is possible for them to be in a polyamorous relationship. Lilith and Leslie are also sister and brother in a romantic relationship.
  • Cult: The Morningstars run one worshipping a chaos goddess named Tiamat.
  • Sexy Jester: When Suzy becomes a clown, Roofie calls her look "harlequin seductress" and reminds her that it's a family friendly show. Her act also involves the other clowns fighting over her. It seems that Suzy's daughter with Lance also fits the bill.
  • So Beautiful, It's a Curse: Suzy. Not only does she receive continual harassment and is not always taken seriously because of her looks, but it was mentioned that her sister Kelly tried to disfigure her several times in the past out of jealousy. Subverted in that Suzy later turns things around and starts to use her looks to her advantage.

     Tales From The Basement

  • The Alcoholic: George McCray is nearly always drunk since his wife died.
  • Basement-Dweller: While technically all three of the main characters are basement dwellers—it is "Tales From the Basement" after all—it is the Anime Addict who fits this trope best, as he is an extreme otaku who contributes nothing to his household. Even in the path where he does get a job, it's at a comic shop, and he never stops being a perpetual loser.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: Bobby Morningstar and his sister.
"Fucking your sister alleviates the tension so to speak, but really it doesn’t allow for a good future bloodline."
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe:
    • Jack the E-Bay Escapist tries this successfully when he has no money to buy the bomb shelter and gains god-like powers, but he loses his powers when somebody tells him he can't do something. When he buys the Gray Building, he can try this when about to be attacked by mutant wolves and ends up in an endless time loop.
    • Brian tries to make She-Hulk come to life through the power of belief unsuccessfully.
  • Creepy Uncle: Uncle Ed makes frequent comments about how attractive Suzy is and outright says that he would sleep with her if she wasn't his niece.
  • Crossdresser: Peter often steals Suzy's clothes to wear.
  • Cute and Psycho: Patricia is an adorable (and underage) schoolgirl whom Brian is absolutely smitten with, but despite her initially sweet appearance, she is quite violent and abusive and causes so much trouble at home that her parents ignore her cousin sleeping with her because they are happy she has someone to take out her craziness on.
  • Don't Make Me Destroy You: Uncle Ed threatens Suzy this way to keep her from screaming when he catches her in his room with the body parts of his victims.
  • Driven to Suicide: After being rejected by Patricia, Brian has the choice to become An Hero.
  • Going Cold Turkey: When Brian decides to give up anime, he breaks his DVDs and computer and burns his manga to eliminate all temptation.
  • Granola Girl: Moon Shadow is a hippy who seems to spend most of her day meditating outside or going on about spiritual energy.
  • Kissing Cousins: Brian the Anime Addict lusts after his underage cousin Patricia quite intensely, and they can end up in a sexual relationship.
  • Licking the Blade: Uncle Ed licks his knife when talking to Suzy after she finds body parts from his victims in his room. It doesn't help her nerves any.
  • NEET: The reader starts (and often ends) the story as a NEET, regardless of path. All three main characters are not involved in education, employment, or training.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: Uncle Ed threatens to kill Suzy unless she helps him get rid of the Morningstars.
  • Otaku: Brian has withdrawals when he quits anime cold turkey.
  • Parental Incest: In one path, Jack the E-Bay Escapist and his mother repopulate the earth with mutants after the bombs fall.
  • A Party, Also Known as an Orgy: Julie throws these quite often, and Suzy can end up attending one that features spit roasts in the yard—and not the kind with a lamb—among other things.
  • Perverse Sexual Lust: Brian for anime characters mostly, but notably for She-Hulk as well in one path.
  • Portal Door: The door to the Gray Building is this, and it leads to different worlds—not always the same ones.
  • Properly Paranoid: Ben. Not only will his bunker come in handy in SSS, but the underground is actually filled with mutant monsters, and it turns out they actually were the project of either the government or some other organization.
  • Serial Killer: Uncle Ed is speculated to be one by his family. He is.
  • Tranquil Fury: Uncle Ed is unnervingly calm when he catches Suzy snooping in her room and Bobby Morningstar said that Uncle Ed had this when he learned of Suzy's betrayal.

     TRASH

  • The Alcoholic: Mel. He spends much of the story drunk—particularly the endings. When he bartends at the strip club Tina works at, he can wind up getting drunk on the job.
  • Bestiality Is Depraved: Mel is pretty disgusted when, not only does his second cousin Suzy enjoy being raped by pigs, but his Cousin Clem admits to having put the pork in the pork a few times.
  • Bouncer: Mel can get a job as a bouncer at the strip clup where Tina works. This leads to some conflict when some rude patrons are involved.
  • Butch Lesbian: One of the patrons Mel interacts with in the strip club. So much so, that Mel mistakes her for a man.
  • Extremely Short Timespan: The story takes place over the course of a day.
  • Kissing Cousins: In one path, Mel's second cousin Suzy gives him a blowjob.
  • Shotgun Wedding: Mel manages to avoid one with Suzy, after her parents catch her giving him a blowjob in the barn.
