Superflex (R) is a series of materials created by Michelle Garcia Winner, designed to help improve the social skills of children with Autism and similar disorders. The Superflex materials feature a collection of Unthinkables (R), which represent undesirable behaviors, as well as Thinkables (R), which represent desirable behaviors.

This work contain super cool examples of:

  • Celebrity Superhero: Superflex is heavily implied to be this, due to the frequent mentioning of Superflex related merchandise in the books.
  • The Cape: Enforced, as Superflex is an archetypal superhero.
  • Badass Cape: Enforced for Superflex/Aiden, the classic superhero archetype.
  • Badass Normal: Aiden is a regular 9-year-old boy, but he is capable of using his flexible thinking strategies to override the psychological manipulation powers of the Unthinkables.
  • Create Your Own Hero: The disappearance of Superflex leads to Aiden, an unsuspecting 9-year-old boy, taking on the role.
  • Drama Queen: Glassman gives birth to these.
  • Everyone Is a Super: The book series aims to promote the idea that anyone can be their own superhero, and help others find theirs.
  • Hair-Raising Hare: Energy Hare-y.
  • Monster Clown: Downplayed, but Wasfunnyonce does cause victims to misplace their humor.
  • Powers in the First Episode: Aiden becomes his Superflex in the 1st installment, Superflex Takes on Rock Brain.
  • Super-Empowering: Both in-universe and out; Aiden's goal is to help people find their own Superflex and defeat the Unthinkables, as well as help the reader defeat their Unthinkables and become their own Superflex.
  • Totally Radical: The way the works are presented can sometimes come off like this, due to the gratuitous use of "cool", and "awesome", as well as the presentation in the comic book format, complete with a superhero.
