Summer Camp: Terror in the Forest is a novel available on Amazon in both eBook and softback formats. It was first published in 2016, and has so far been noted for its dark plot, particularly the dystopian elements, as well as the characters notable for demonstrating the flaws inherent in all humans. The blurb is as follows; In the world of Inika, summer is in full swing. A group of children set off for what is promised to be a month they will never forget. When they arrive, however, they realise that not everything is as it seems. The summer camp is actually a place of suffering and harsh labour. A pair of brothers and their friend must avoid the staff and other campers if they wish to survive. One thing is certain; they will never be the same again..

This novel provides examples of:

  • Alpha Strike: Whenever a guard decides to confront a prisoner. Also when the one of the main characters defends themselves against a bully
  • As You Know: From the prologue on, characters routinely exposit on the setting as an internal monologue.
  • Purple Prose: All of the characters are prone to long internal monologues and philosophical musing that occasionally dips into As You Know dialogue where they remind themselves of how their world works.
