The Space Demons trilogy is a series of Australian young adult sci-fi novels comprising Space Demons (1987), Skymaze (1989) and Shinkei (1996), written by Gillian Rubenstein. They feature a quartet of teenagers - Andrew, Ben, Mario and Elaine - who play a series of Super Prototype video games which connect the real world with worlds inside the games.
The Space Demons trilogy contains examples of the following tropes:
- The Game Come to Life: All three books, which are named after the game played in each.
- The Power of Hate: Space Demons feeds on hate, and prompts the players to "Respond to Hate".
- Win to Exit: Space Demons and Skymaze particularly force the characters to win the game in order to escape back to the real world.
