Neo Akihabara Meipouchou is a web serial novel trilogy written by Steward McOy. It takes place in the far future, starting roughly forty years after American anime fans annexed Paris, renaming the city to Neo Crystal Tokyo. These invaders now rule over the city using advanced technologies and private maid armies. Trained in the arts of cooking, cleaning, and assassination, these elite maid soldiers serve powerful politicians and their families, acting to further their masters' interests.

Forty years after the founding of Neo Crystal Tokyo, political alliances are beginning to fray, and maids from different houses increasingly find themselves at odds with one another—and with underground Paris liberation movements. If the infighting spreads to the military, the city will be vulnerable to invasion by powerful geopolitical foes.

Young Aina Dufort is a new maid in the education minister's household. Her incredible strength makes her an ideal maid-in-training, but she'll have to learn to control her power—and her emotions. She'll contend with powerful enemies and rivals, fight for love, and struggle to survive in a world with mecha, cat-human hybrids, and magical girls.

This book provides examples of:

  • The Ace: Naomi is a maid with unparalleled strength.
  • Ascended Extra: Élisabeth, initially a minor side-character, becomes more important to the story late in the second book.
  • Cast Full of Gay: Most of the cast is homosexual or bisexual, or their sexuality is left ambiguous.
  • Cat Girl: Created by genetic engineering, there is a large population of human/cat hybrids.
  • Crystal Spires and Togas The city is protected by a large crystalline dome, which the rulers of the city have named the GINZUISHOU.
  • Dehumanization: Maids are treated as tools by the ruling elite.
  • Elite Agents Above the Law: When carrying out their orders, the maids answer only to their chain of command. They have explicit immunity from the law.
  • Foreign Culture Fetish: The rulers of the Weeaboo Confederacy try to model their society off of Japan, as depicted in anime. Predictably, they get most of it wrong.
  • Global Warming: Much of the world has been rendered uninhabitable by centuries of war.
  • Humongous Mecha: The Weeaboo Federation has built mecha modeled after the mecha from other anime.
  • Magical Girl: Magical girls, and occasionally magical boys, began appearing in the city not long after it was conquered. Some are born with magical powers, and others gain them later in life.
  • Maid Corps: Each great household fields its own maid corps, each with distinct uniforms.
  • Miko: Fumiko is a miko at Neo Chichibu Shrine
  • Ninja Maid: The maids use assassination techniques stereotypical of ninja. They fight with weapons disguised as cleaning equipment.
  • Noblewoman's Laugh: Both Nanami and Mari "Oh ho ho" on multiple occasions.
  • Nuclear Weapons Taboo: Nuclear weapons are one of the only weapons banned by the Weeaboo Federation.
  • Ojou: Nanami is the daughter of a noble family who eventually inherits the title herself. Mari pretends to be from such a family.
  • Older Than They Look: Naomi and Yoko, maids from old Paris, look much younger than their actual age. They claim that their meidou training conferred extreme health benefits.
  • Permanent Elected Official: Although a democracy on paper, the Weeaboo Federation's Diet is comprised mostly of nobility. Their positions as MPs are hereditary.
  • Politically Motivated Teacher: Akira teaches the government's political propaganda to help cement his caste's hold over the city, though he regrets it.
  • Powered Armor: Hideaki Heavy Industries manufactures a powered armor suit similar to the one Hideaki used in the war to capture Paris.
  • Robot Girl: Hideaki Heavy Industries also manufactures a line of gynoids, many of which are purchased by great households to do the cleaning work, freeing the rest of the maids to train and go on missions.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: The ruling caste is, by law, above the law.
  • The Sky Is an Ocean: The Weeaboo Federation built skyships modeled after Commodore Perry's black ships, and one modeled after the Space Battleship Yamato.
