Hunting Zombies and making out with my girlfriend(s), that's the highlight of my days!
Faced with doomsday, the special power inside Ling Mo was woken up. He found out that he could control zombies. Therefore he could walk through the zombie crowd safe and sound using his power, and eventually, he met his beloved girlfriend – Ye Lian, but only to find out that she has already been transformed into a zombie. To help Ye retrieve her memories, Ling Mo started his survival in doomsday.

Available as either webnovel or webcomic format.

Associated tropes:

  • After the End: The story starts after a quick spreading Zombie Apocalypse has already destroyed civilization, the survivors all forced to fend for themselves.
  • And Then John Was a Zombie: A prevailing hazard to all the survivors, named character or otherwise.
  • Apocalypse Anarchy: Law and order has completely fallen apart. There are no police, no governments, no emergency services. Everybody is left to their own devices to survive and looting is the only source of essential supplies. The only possessions and rights anyone has are those they can protect with their own two hands.
  • The Apocalypse Brings Out the Best in People: Defied. The resulting anarchy has brought out the worst in everyone, including the protagonist.
  • Battle Harem: Ling Mo's girlfriends are all mighty fighters, one way or another.
  • Happiness in Mind Control: Ling Mo's zombie girlfriends are legitimately happy that he's controlling their minds, as otherwise, they would be mindless zombies, acting purely on instinct, unable to have agency of any kind. In fact, Shana openly states, unprompted, that she doesn't want to go back to her former life as a human.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: In chapter 104 of the web comic format, all of Ling Mo's girlfriends get powerful weapon upgrades at Shana's family estate.
  • Might Makes Right: Strength is the greatest currency in the setting. The strong have more say in what goes down than the weak.
  • Monstrous Cannibalism: Zombies trapped in an enclosed space without humans around will attack and eat each other. Zombies also go after other zombies which have already been wounded.
  • Our Zombies Are Different: They may be mindless, but they're fast, agile, have enhanced all five senses, and The Virus forms a "gel" in their brains that allows them to evolve. This evolution is the only hope Ling Mo has of returning Ye Lian and Shana back human, or granting them enough of their core consciousness so that he doesn't have to rely on his Psychic Link to keep them stable and non-threatening.
  • Protagonist-Centered Morality: What's good for Ling Mo is good, and what isn't is annoying, at best.
  • Punchclock Hero: Combined with Sociopathic Hero. Ling Mo is only out for his own survival, and restoring the consciousness of his Zombie Girlfriends, and he's not entirely sane. If coming to your rescue aligns with that, congratulations. If not, sucks to be you.
  • Questionable Consent: Ling Mo and his girlfriends do erotic stuff with each other, and the girlfriends are usually the initiators; however, they're not entirely aware of their actions, and Ling Mo often wonders if they're acting on his subconscious desires. In return, Ling Mo frequently states that he's not entirely certain of his consent, as his Mind Manipulation ability goes both ways, and he's constantly strongly influenced by the desires and emotions of the zombies in his thrall, girlfriend or otherwise.
  • Rape as Drama: If you're a female among a group of survivors, rape is an ever-present threat. One female survivor is even shown being raped to death, on-screen.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Everybody who has red eyes is dangerous. If Ling Mo's girlfriends' eyes turn red, it means either they're about to rampage on a zombie threat, he's lost his control over them, or both.
  • The Virus: Frequently discussed. The transmission vector for the zombie threat is not well known or fully understood. Bites and exposure to zombie blood are known vectors, but saliva and other bodily fluids appear to be somewhat safe, as Ling Mo has kissed, and been kissed, mouth to mouth, by his girlfriends without turning. Not to mention going all the way to full-blown sexual intercourse with them. The initial outbreak was so fast and widespread that an aerial vector has not been ruled out.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: One happened prior to the start of the story, and the threat is ever-present.
