Associated Tropes:
- Action Survivor: Most of them are just trying to stay alive long enough to get home, if possible.
- Battle Royale Game: In addition to having to worry about the monsters and traps of the dungeon, the students are forced to worry about each other, as one of the only information they have is that the gate out only has enough power to rescue three of the 41 students brought to this new world.
- Beach Episode: Kotaro and Meiko find themselves in a part of the dungeon with an artificial ocean and beach. Kotaro even fashions Meiko a bikini, after much trial and error. The two of them briefly manage to put their cares aside and have fun, even equating the experience to their normal Summer Vacation. Since they are still in a monster-filled dungeon, the "vacation" doesn't last.
- The Cake Is a Lie: All the instructions the students get promise that they will be welcome by the human kingdom if they manage to clear the dungeon, with a magical compass pointing which way they should go. While this seems suspicious, the students have no other options but to trust what they're told.
- Contrived Coincidence: Souma Yuuto's [Vocation] as [Hero] comes with the inherent ability to always have him pull a Big Damn Heroes when one or more of his Unwanted Harem are in danger and he's the only one who can deal with it.
- Cosmic Chess Game: Implied. Considering that of the 41 students who were dragged into this dungeon only three are allowed to exit alive, and each is made the devotee of a different god...
- Cute Bruiser: In this world, you cannot judge the strength of people by their appearance.
- Double Standard: Kotaro gets put through a lot of crap by his classmates for stuff that they forgive others for, especially Souma Sakura [Saintess] who is willing to forgive a psycho cannibal who has already murdered and eaten a fellow classmate, while seeing nothing wrong with abandoning Kotaro to die because he was caught masturbating. And even then, it was because he needed his semen to summon a golem that his very life depended upon...
- Elemental Powers: Aside from martial arts, most magic in this world is associate to an element: Light, Dark, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Ice, Lightning. The rule of Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors is applied too, for example undeads are weak against white magic.
- Enhanced Archaic Weapon: There are various magical weapons, such as swords whose sharpness is magically enhanced or Elemental Weapon.
- Fantasy Character Classes: The system of vocation follow those rules. There are mages who uses Elemental Magic, crafting, invocations... depending of their type. Fighters who has enhanced physical abilities and can use Supernatural Martial Arts... And some vocation that can use both magic and martial arts.
- Guilt-Free Extermination War: Deconstructed. The students see the goma, describe them as giant cockroaches, which is suitably squickastic, and have come to believe they're unflinchingly evil because the goma will stop whatever it is they're doing, turn, and attack with lethal force to try to kill and eat them, not necessarily in that order, so the students have taken to try to exterminate them in self-defense, seeing little wrong in subjecting them to horrific experiments. In return, the goma see humans as unspeakably hideous and unflinchingly evil for seeking to exterminate them on sight, to the last child, and try to eat human meat on the belief that this will somehow make them stronger, killing even helpless children. To make everything worse, dialogue is impossible since both sides can only hear each other speak in total gibberish.
- Humans Are Bastards: The students may all be classmates, but each and every one of them is primarily concerned with his or her own survival as a top priority, and usually, if that means trampling over another classmate's corpse, so be it. The main characters are not exempt.
- Humans Are Ugly: From Goma's perspective.
- I Ate WHAT?!: Driven mad by hunger, Hajime chances upon a weakened Ooyama. Once he recover his mind, Hajime finds clothing belonging to a male student and is revolted, then checks his newly acquired skills and realizes he ate a known homosexual.
- It Gets Easier: Many of the students have the rational fear of combat and killing that living in a modern "pacifist" country provides. As they're forced to kill, this resistance slowly decays until it stops being relevant.
- Kidnapped by the Call: All the class was forcibly summoned in another world.
- Magical Accessory: There various artifacts that provide enhancements to the wearer, they could be found in treasures box or made with the power of some [Vocation].
- Mass Empowering Event: The entire class 2-7, along with their classroom, is dragged into a new world, and forced to gain [Vocation]s by swearing allegiance to one of the local gods.
- Missed the Call: Kotaro falls out of the classroom as it's being transported to this new alien world, where the entire class is immediately dragged into a dungeon, forced to fight for their lives. Fortunately, he doesn't wind up too far away from his class.
- This Is Reality: Apart magic anything and everything else has the logical real-life consequences, especially the need for food, clothing, and shelter.
- Sexy Discretion Shot: Or Take Our Word for It. Quite a few of the characters have sex, and they say so, but the reader never gets any details.
- Super Power Lottery: The students of class 2-7 get a [Vocation] that supposedly suits them best, by becoming devotees of the local gods, but they are not given a choice of which god contracts them, what abilities they start with, or even what abilities they gain as they progress through the dungeon. They all have to struggle to figure out how to best use their talents to survive, and the dungeon is completely unforgiving of any mistakes.
- Yandere: Par for the course for the author of these series, the story features women who are a bit "too devoted" to their men, and react with murderous fury to any threat towards them, real or imagined.
