Day of Reckoning is an original story published on Fiction Press that covers the adventures of three young boys as they get themselves into unreal situations. It is heavily based off old school anime and manga, so it relies on tropes and references from that era.

Day of Reckoning follows a boy name Jakel, who along with his friends Darek and Josh, get into situations that range from demon invasions, adventures in a scorching desert, and galactic journeys with space pirates.

The story has gotten quite popular on Fiction Press. Its homage to anime and manga of old, along with its charm that still makes it original in its rights is what makes Day of Reckoning its own adventure.

Day of Reckoning contains examples of:

  • Berserk Button: Harming innocents or friends in anyway is a way to get any of the boys fired up.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Jakel and Josh are a prime example. They're both very friendly and are usually always smiling, but are still not to be messed with.
  • Blood Knight: No matter how much the odds seem against him, Darek loves a good fight.
  • Determinator: Once the boys have a goal to achieve, they probably won't be stop.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: At first the pacing is weird and before you know it, the first arc is done. It gets better over time though.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Darek is a protagonist who will do the right thing, but that doesn't change his brutality and absolute bloodlust once he gets himself into a fight.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Jakel is probably once of the the nicest of the boys. He has shown that he can still take a lot of punishment and dish it out as well.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Darek can be a jerk to Jakel and Josh, he can be quite blunt with everyone, but he shows that he does care for the well being of others.
  • The Rival: Darek to Jakel in a friendly rivalry, and Prince Darkanos in the more traditional way.
