"Carry On his Name" is written by H Meyer, and is a sequel to the first book, The Bread Of Kindness. Unlike the first story, this is told in third person narration, and begins two years after Joseph's death. While the prologue is set in 1892, there are three more main time periods: World War I, World War II, and the modern day.
This can be purchased off lulu.com, or read on Deviant Art (under 'Ilite'). The summary is as follows: "Two years after Joseph Merrick's death, Lola's son, Brian, comes across a long forgotten photo. Will Brian's and Lola's descendants help Lola carry on Joseph's memory, or will he be long forgotten quickly?"
Tropes include:
- Killed Off for Real: Lola Reid, who dies during the blitz in World War Two when a bomb is dropped on her house.
- Never Got to Say Goodbye: Lola and Richard, when the latter dies from The Spanish Flu in 1918.
- Shout-Out: There's definitely a few in there.
- To TV Tropes: Megan in the modern day mentions Nightmare Fuel and quips to herself that TV tropes had ruined her life.
- A giant one to the Joseph Merrick tribute website at www.josephcareymerrick.com That embodies most of chapter 15!
