"I think I've seen everything there is to see in this game at this point."
Shinyodd, after crashing his Dacia Permission Weed

Shinyodd is a Northern Irish YouTuber who specializes in car games, most commonly Forza, Automation, and BeamNG.

The bulk of Shinyodd's earlier uploads consisted of Forza gameplay, but after being banned from Forza Horizon 4 in January of 2019, he uploaded his first Automation stream wherein, with help from viewers, he made the riced hatchback to end all riced hatchbacks. After a sequel two months later involving a kei trucknote  with wings and a snow plow, Shinyodd became renowned within the Automation player base for his automotive "shitposts", and after thirteen more such builds, his subscriber count had more than tripled by the end of 2019.

In addition to his Automation/Beam streams, he's also played other racing games, including DiRT, GRID, and Street Legal Racing: Redline. He also plays Pokémon games on occasion, from mainline titles like Scarlet and Violet to even spinoffs such as Pokémon GO.

Tropes in Shinyodd's videos:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Shiny repeatedly gets the name of the Tesla Cybertruck wrong, which eventually culminates in him calling it the "Tesla Clusterfuck".
  • Absurdly-Long Limousine: sBEVE, a mid-engine Dodge Neon limousine pickup with a V12 engine. The odd capitalization stuck.
  • The Alleged Car: Sure, Henry makes plenty of power from his V12 engine and has a lot of downforce, but all that power going straight to the rear wheels makes him practically uncontrollable, the brakes suck, and at high enough speeds, all that downforce causes him to bottom out and scrape along the road. It's also worth mentioning that Henry, like other Automation cars that are covered in fixtures, breaks into a million pieces in a crash.
  • Author Appeal: He tends to include Pokémon music on his videos.
  • Big "OMG!": Whenever he gets rear-ended by the AI in Beam.
  • Big "YES!": Upon successfully exporting the Dacia Permission Weed's 3D model. Blender crashed on his previous attempt.
  • Buffy Speak:
Shinyodd: [making Takummie Fujiwanker] We've accidentally made, like, 2020 Le Mans Prototype, sss... shit... thing...
  • The Bus Came Back: After the Pogvette, Shinyodd intended to put Automation chat builds on indefinite hiatus, note  but an update introducing unrestricted fixture placement brought him and his chat back for another stream.
    • Said stream, which resulted in the Glizzy Gobbler, also takes this trope literally with the "What the fuck", a multiple-decker bus orders of magnitude taller than it is long with a passing resemblance to the Child Decimator 47 (Shinyodd's previous red multiple-decker bus build)... and a habit of collapsing in on itself in a frenzy of polygons before the game resets it.
  • Commie Land: Became the premise of one particular Automation build, the Blyatmobile Reactor 4, a so-called "Russian NASCAR".
Shinyodd: Before we start suggesting things and whatnot, I would just like to do this real quick.
[puts white Adidas stripes on the black car while "Tri Poloski" plays]
  • Felony Misdemeanor: Shinyodd would have easily ignored the 6-second drag car challenge put forth by sim racing YouTuber Jimmy Broadbent, had Jimmy not mispronounced his name.
Jimmy: Is it "Shinny-odd"? He does Automation stuff. Yeah, the Irish guy with the R31 that I like. Go make a car that can do six seconds, 'cause I can't fuckin' do it.
    Shinyodd: I am fucking furious.
Shinyodd: I would've overlooked your challenge and said, "Yes, I am useless. I cannot make a car do six seconds 'cause I am retarded. But, now that you've—now that you've said that sentence, it is now a game of revenge. It is not a challenge anymore, this is a payback!
  • Freestyle Version: Attempted to Stal of all songs, twice.
    • After Automation crashes while making the Tesco Clusterfuck:
    Automation is a game
    Makes me want to mansplain
To the developers why it's bad
And why I have lost my dad
I was seven, he was forty
    And he left my home
Haven't seen him since, been fifteen years
    And now I'm all alone

Don't worry, 'cause the beat has dropped
And now I'm gonna never stop
Minecraft is the game to play
Whenever you are a raging gay
    Hello, Elon, how are you?
    I hope you fucking burn
Put it on a plate like a Toblerone
Cut up, and hope it makes me... your home
    And bring my dad home
Who I haven't seen since I was three
    Yeah
    • After beating Jimmy's quarter-mile target time with the High Internet Velocity:
    Bentbroad
Yes, that man in the shed, bod
More like, your time is dead, uhh
    Car...
  • Fun with Acronyms: Shinyodd's six-second drag car, the High Internet Velocity.
    • When making Ollie, he jokes that ESCnote  stands for "ejaculate, succulate, and cucculate".
    • In his look at the 2015 release of Corona Motorsport, he says the game is HIV, which he claims stands for "Hi Imhaving Vfun".
  • Gameplay Randomization: A couple of times, Shinyodd attempted to build a car, but with engineering options and fixtures chosen by a random number generator. Neither car ended up driving well or looking good.
  • Hollywood Police Driving Academy: After Shinyodd—driving Henry—outran a police car and crashed, the police car followed suit seconds later.
  • Hot Paint Job: Henry.
  • Montages: A mainstay of Shinyodd's channel before getting into Automation.
    • Happens when he grafts the face of a Dodge Neon onto sBEVE.
  • It Kind of Looks Like a Face: The front of the Argos Pogvette looks kind of like the Twitch emote PogChamp.
  • Parody: The Venetian Sunstang, Mildly Disappointed Max, James Dong, the Tesco Clusterfuck, and Takummie Fujiwanker.
  • Random Number God: In both Automation RNG streams, Shinyodd had put together a satisfactory engine... until it was decided that low-quality fuel would be used.
  • Running Gag: At least once per Automation stream, someone will donate and ask Shinyodd to add something stupid to the car, usually along the lines of "give it Supra taillights" or "cover the roof in spoilers".
  • Surprise Car Crash: An unintentional example, when the Telephone Box Failure (the first RNG car) is rammed by a previously off-screen sBEVE in BeamNG.
  • Unpredictable Results: The stream chat is guaranteed to request some wild shit. Exactly what, though, is a mystery.
  • Weaponized Car:
    • Mildly Disappointed Max. Unfortunately, given the limitations of the Automation fixture system, all those oversized gun barrelsnote  are just for show.
    • James Dong is "armed" with front missile pods, door-mounted guns on either side of the windshield, pop-up bulletproof screens, oil slick dispensers, a massive rocket launcher on the trunk, and an ejector seat... for the passenger.
