Back to the Land Before Gotham Falls is a crossover between Back to the Future, The Land Before Time, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Gravity Falls. It premiered on Disney Channel on May 13, 2013, and has gotten mostly favorable reviews. The series is about Marty McFly, Littlefoot, Batman and Dipper having adventures in Gravity Falls, and fighting villains such as the Joker, Sharptooth, and Gideon. It was criticized at first for being an "outrageous crossover that would never, ever work," but as new episodes were made, the critics began to soften. It now airs triweekly, with new episodes airing at 4:30 AM on Mondays, and reruns airing 11:30 PM on Sundays and Thursdays.
Back To The Land Before Gotham Falls shows examples of:
- Bad "Bad Acting": In the live-action The Dark Knight Rises and Back to the Future segments, they got okay actors for Batman and Marty, but Dipper is... not the best.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Marty in the episode "Assassin's Need."
- Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: Appears on the list of how Littlefoot's alternate future selves die.
List: Falling off a building, getting set on fire, falling off of a building into a fire...
- Chest Insignia: Batman's bat symbol when he wears his old costume, and briefly Marty's knife when he is turned into a brainwashed assassin in "Assassin's Need."
- Crossover: Duh.
- Double-Meaning Title: The "Falls" in "Back to the Land Before Gotham Falls" can either be referring to Gravity Falls or the fall of Gotham in The Dark Knight Rises.
