And this is a non-villainous example. Joshu is just that selfish.

The world of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is filled with never-ending strife for the Joestar Bloodline, and most of that strife comes from these individuals who care for nobody but themselves.

  • DIO Brando is well-known for being the biggest jerkass in the whole series. Most of the problems and bad things that happen in this series are somehow related to him. He also has a pretty twisted sense of humor and way to deal with people he doesn't care about, even going as far as forcing a woman to eat her own baby just for his own amusement.
  • Looking at Dario Brando, DIO's father from Phantom Blood, it's pretty clear where DIO got his more vile traits from. An abusive drunk whose first appearance has him robbing the corpse of the recently deceased Mary Joestar, then later abused his wife to death and forced his son to sell her dress in exchange for booze. He's so detestable, that fans will agree that DIO's murder of him is one of his few justifiable actions.
  • Kars, the Big Bad of Battle Tendency, doesn't have the more likable traits his fellow Pillar Men have. Whereas Esidisi and Wamuu were much more affable and noble, seeing the heroes as Worthy Opponents, Kars is much more sadistic, much more dirty in his fighting style, and treats his opponents — as well as humanity in general — as mere toys to be played with, as shown with what he does to an unconscious Lisa Lisa in front of Joseph.
  • Several villains from Stardust Crusaders count as this:
    J. Geil (OVA): (writhes around on the floor, crippled and sobbing in fear) Spare me, Polnareff! I beg you! (...) I-I was wrong! I'll do whatever you say, so please forgive me!
Polnareff (OVA): (with deathly quiet fury) My sister... my younger sister must have said the same thing to you. But you killed her anyway. YOU KILLED HER FOR YOUR OWN SICK PLEASURE!
    • Out of all the villains in this Part, none better exemplify this trope than Steely Dan. After taking Joseph hostage with his Stand, Lovers, Dan forces Jotaro to do any number of painful and embarrassing acts for his own amusement; from using him as a human bridge and making him clean his shoes with his tongue, to forcing Jotaro to steal jewelry and then ratting him out for it, all while acting like an insufferable asshole the entire time. This all just makes Jotaro's payback all the more satisfying.
    • While Alessi's jerkassery and maniacal tendencies are more Played for Laughs than anything, it still doesn't take away from the fact that he's an Ax-Crazy and repulsive coward of a child abuser who gleefully uses his Stand to torture people, goes out of his way to gloat and mock them when he thinks he's rendered them helpless, and whose Squick-y actions and demeanor are very reminiscent of a pedophile.
  • Diamond is Unbreakable:
    • Starter Villain Angelo spends just about every moment of screen time he has in showing just how much of a terrible person he is. Like J. Geil before him, Angelo is a depraved and petty Serial Killer and rapist, who enjoys taunting and toying with his victims all while preparing his killing blow.
    • Tamami Kobayashi is a greedy con man whose Stand, The Lock, causes people to become overwhelmed by their own guilt, usually caused by events Tamami set up, to the point that they can end up killing themselves. Though after Koichi defeats him, he becomes more of a Jerk with a Heart of Gold.
    • Akira Otoishi is presented as smug and full of himself, and is willing to commit murder if it means getting what he wants, as shown when he murders Okuyasu's brother, Keicho, in order to steal the Stand Arrow.
    • Despite being one of the heroes, Rohan Kishibe is this. He has an It's All About Me attitude, seeing other people more as objects he can use for inspiration for his manga. He's also extremely prideful, obsessed with winning and proving himself better than others. Outside of Koichi, who Rohan develops a strange respect for, if it wasn't for the fact that he's helping solve the Kira case, the rest of the cast probably wouldn't hang out with him.
    • Terunosuke Miyamoto has a fascination with scaring people, and this manifests into his Stand, Enigma. Besides that he's also shown to be very smug about how he goes about doing what he does.
  • Golden Wind:
    • Leaky-Eye Luca, an early antagonist, is a drug dealer who seems to enjoy bossing others around simply because he can.
    • Illuso is by far the most unlikable of the members of La Squadra, being a Smug Snake who gets enjoyment out of torturing and bullying others, all while ranting about his invincible Stand ability.
    • Cioccolata and his servant Secco are a particularly nasty duo of assholes even considering the setting full of ruthless mobsters and assassins. Cioccolata is a sadistic former surgeon who gets his kicks on killing and torture and is generally extremely narcissistic, self-centered and egotistical, considering himself above others due to his morbid view of life. Secco isn't much better than him, being an opportunist who leeches on Cioccolata's wealth and is an obnoxious and foul-mouthed Manchild to boot.
  • Stone Ocean:
    • It turns out Weather Report is this after he gets his memories back.
    • Anasui acts this way to anyone whose name isn't Jolyne or Jotaro.
    • Donatello Versus seems to have inherited this trait from his father, DIO.
  • Steel Ball Run:
    • Early minor antagonist Benjamin Boom Boom of the Boom Boom family, being an abusive father who constantly badmouths his sons as well as their mother, and outright ignores one of them when he's clearly dying.
    • Dario Brando's Alternate Universe counterpart is somehow even worse than the original. Whereas the original Dario was abusive at worst, this Dario outright tries to murder Diego.
  • Jojolion:
