Five Nights at Freddy's:

  • Believe it or not, Foxy the Pirate was kept as a secret. The Steam description never mentions Foxy, only Freddy and his two friends. Foxy quickly became an Ensemble Dark Horse, so he isn't really a secret anymore.
  • For such a pivotal part of lore, it can be easy to forget that the animatronics being possessed by the souls of dead children was originally an easy-to-miss Easter Egg you had to intentionally search for.
  • Phone Guy dying in Night 4 became well known after multiple mentions of it in the fanbase and one of the main evidence against the "Phone Guy is the Killer" theory.
  • Golden Freddy, a rare Easter Egg, became well-known due to the mystery behind him.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2:

  • The game being a prequel is common knowledge among the entire fanbase and if someone questions it, they are either new into the fanbase, or were outside the series and/or theorizing side for a long time.
  • The Puppet being also possessed became as well-known as the original five being possessed. Child possession in general, really.
  • The Toys might be possessed, for the same reasons as above.
  • The Puppet being The Man Behind the Man is well-known, thanks to the fanbase going wild with fanart.
  • The murders from the "SAVE THEM" minigame are not the Missing Children Incident. The lore doesn't work if this was the case, and the fourth game and the Fazbear Frights go against it.

Five Nights at Freddy's 3:

  • Springtrap is William Afton, the Murderer. His whole character revolves around this.
  • The souls are set free became well known due to the numerous fan art and theories around it.

Five Nights at Freddy's 4:

  • The nights are literal nightmares of the protagonist, all well-known due to the names of the animatronics in the first place. However, Sister Location throws a wrench into this.
  • The option of the protagonist of the nights not even being the Child becomes more and more known after the release of the Survival Logbook.
  • The Child dies by being bitten by Fredbear. It's practically the central point for theories about this game... or at least was, until Word of God confirmed in which year this took place - 1983.
  • The Child and his Big Brother Bully are Aftons and one of them is Michael. Like with the former, it's the central point for theories.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location:

  • Circus Baby is pretending to be good and is actually the Big Bad. It's well-known because of the ending.
  • Baby is possessed by Elizabeth Afton, the Murderer's daughter and possible Morality Pet. Like with other theories of animatronics being possessed, this is well known.
  • We are Michael Afton, the Murderer's son. Once again, well known due to theories.
  • Ennard is an amalgamation of the Funtime animatronics is well known as the main point of Ennard's character.
  • The Funtimes are designed by Afton for the same reason as Ennard being an amalgam of them.

Five Nights at Candy's:

  • RAT exists. As the series' Big Bad and among its most popular characters, this should have been expected.
  • The remaster has a secret boss fight with Shadow Candy and a secret cutscene teasing the fourth game. As one of the game's few new additions, this quickly blew up.

Five Nights at Candy's 2:

  • CAT exists. As RAT's The Dragon and one of the few new characters, this should have been expected.

The Joy of Creation: Ignited Collection:

  • Creation is the game's Final Boss. The character's popularity and being the titular character quickly made Creation someone well-known.

Five Nights at Freddy's Plus:

  • The Puppet will be in the game. Upon making her Freeze-Frame Bonus cameo, her existence was quickly spread as one of the trailer's most well-known parts.
