"No School Idols allowed!"...until a few episodes later.
Whether it was a sequel or an alternate universe spin-off, one will mostly expect any confirmation of repeated histories in the world of school idols.NOTE: Spoilers for Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie: Over The Rainbow will be completely marked, so read at your own risk if you don't mind being spoiled!

- The idea that the third years were former idols was floating around since the first episode and popular among fans. Later episodes continued to drop hints and it was all but confirmed until Dia explicitly stated seven episodes later that she, Kanan, and Mari were a three-member idol group that made it to Tokyo, but completely failed to perform on the big stage.
- As for the fans who expected the 2nd years to have a relationship similar to a "love triangle" between the main character, the childhood friend & the transfer student since Riko herself transferred to Uranohoshi, this speculation is ultimately confirmed as the first season's 10th episode had You showing some signs of jealousy to Chika and Riko, with Riko confessing to Chika at the end of the episode. Despite that, their relationship was never mentioned again in subsequent episodes.
- Consider: You got her turn in the credits for a second-season Character Focus episode about Dia, then Riko appeared in the credits with Yoshiko joining her. Suddenly, end-credits scenes were no longer limited to a single character, unlike School Idol Project's second-season credits. It turns out that Dia's own credits appearance was saved for an episode centered around Ruby so they can both appear.
- As for the Over The Rainbow movie, several points of speculation were confirmed:
- The blonde haired woman actually being Mari's mother is ultimately confirmed in the latest trailer for the Over The Rainbow movie.
- The new androgynous character that talks with You being actually female was pretty much confirmed.
- Aqours pulling a SUNNY DAY SONG, a massive dance number... in the opening of the movie.
- The female parent character that resembles You being her mom from the second season's 12th episode is confirmed in the movie's pre-credits scene, where she stood beside the group of the girls' parents.
- A minor one: Chika's father also did a similar cheering gesture like Honoka's father did in the first movie, albeit seen from behind.
- Though they had yet to disband, many fans expect that Aqours would visit an area with a sunset shining on them (in that case, a beach), similar to how µ's stood at the Nebukawa Train station. While Aqours did watch the sunset at Mito Beach, the scene reinforces that this version of Aqours is over but the remaining 6 members will continue being school idols at the new school.
Love Live! School Idol Festival All Stars
- Since the characters' reveal, many assumed that Ayumu will become the leader like Honoka & Chika. And she did as shown in a School Idol Festival: All Stars illustration.
- Many NozoEli and KanaMari supporters had expected Karin and Ai to carry the legacy of the purple-blonde pairing after the reveal of the final results for the Nijigasaki Sub-Unit groupings
. - Many fans expect Karin to do some similar actions a la Nozomi and Mari after her reveal. Turns out that she did grope Kasumi once◊ in Nijiyon.
- Many who assumed that a possible Kotori-style photobomb will happen among the Nijigasaki members saw this confirmed. In another Nijiyon chapter, Setsuna made the same photobomb during Karin and Kasumi's photoshoot.◊ Kasumi also made a photobomb in the Tokimeki RUNNERS animated music video.
- Some also expected that Karin would be an expy to Eli as she possesses both maturity, bodily proportions & dancing skills. Her Ice Queen personality, on the other hand, is entirely a different matter.
- Many fans assumed that Lanzhu and Mia will join the Nijigasaki High School Idol Club at the end of Season 2 just like Shioriko who joined after Season 1. They joined before the season ended but were only Promoted to Playable after the last chapter of the season.
