Ultraman

  • As detailed in this article, the entire reason this series and the franchise it spawned came into being can count as this: in light of the Cold War paranoia and turbulent emotions rampant in the 1960s, Eiji Tsuburaya decided to create Ultraman as a friend from the stars that could bring hope to the people and inspire them to discover the mysteries and wonders of the world. From how classic Ultraman ended up being and how deeply it influenced Japanese pop culture, it's safe to say that his vision was realised.
  • In response to the pleas of the kids who created Gavadon, Ultraman opted to not kill it, instead transforming it into a constellation.
  • In episode 35 "The Monster Graveyard", Hayata transforms into Ultraman to pay respects to the monsters he has killed up to that point.
  • The Science Patrol gives Pigmon a proper burial and a moment of silence after the latter's Heroic Sacrifice at the end of episode 37 "The Small Hero".
  • When Zoffy came to take Ultraman back to Nebula M78 after the latter's defeat by Zetton, Ultraman refused to go with him, because Hayata will die if he went back, and he would rather sacrifice his own life than take Hayata's. Thankfully, Zoffy was prepared for this and brought two lives with him, allowing Hayata to be separated from Ultraman.

Manga/2019 anime:

  • In the Volume 9 afterword, it's revealed that Hideo Ishiguro, who plays Gai Kurenai in Ultraman Orb, has followed the manga from the start and asked Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi for an autograph. The mangakas were happy to hear it.
