Despite it's mostly humorous tone, One of the major themes of Tian Ya Ke is finding love and warmth in strangers; its themes of Family of Choice provides plenty of those moments.
As for the Official Couple, the relationship between Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu revolves around the concept of finding a zhījǐ, which leads to a lot of surprisingly heartfelt moments.

Heartwarming moments in Tian Ya Ke:
- Zhou Zishu calling Wen Kexing his zhījǐ in chapter two.
- Zhou Zishu gently waking up Zhang Chengling up from a nightmare concerning his recent family's death, and promises him that he'll wake him up if he experiences another nightmare.
- The novel describes his tone as soft, and is shown so in the Audio Drama.
- In multiple instances, Zhou Zishu covering a sleeping Zhang Chengling with his own outer robes.
