"Don't leave me, Soundwave." "As you command, Megatron"

Heartwarming moments in The Transformers: The Movie.

As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

  • Megatron is mortally wounded and lying helpless on the battlefield of Autobot City as Starscream kicks him and orders a retreat. Megatron weakly lifts his head and gasps out "Don't leave me, Soundwave!" Soundwave kneels and gives his usual response: "As you command, Megatron." While the other Decepticons run from the counter-attacking Autobots, Soundwave proudly (if briskly) carries his fallen commander to safety, Rumble following with his fusion cannon. Most loyal Decepticon in the ranks, there.
    • While it seems inexplicably Out of Character then for Soundwave to not try to stop Starscream from tossing Megatron aboard, deleted scenes from the script show that Soundwave's bid for leadership was a means to ensure Astrotrain return for Megatron. As to why he didn't stop Starscream in the first place, without the convenient breakout of the brawl, Soundwave was in no position to make a move without getting ganged upon by the other contenders, so he had to be smart about displaying his Undying Loyalty.
  • Kup sitting down and telling one his war stories to the Dinobots has a very grandfatherly feel to it. The Dinobots also play the role of excited children very well.
  • The Autobots' interactions with Daniel are pretty sweet, especially since he's the son of their closest human ally Spike.
  • Daniel Witwicky reuniting with his father Spike near the end of the film. Bonus points for saving his father, along with Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, and Jazz from certain death in Unicron’s innards.
  • When it looks like all hope is lost, the Matrix finally opens and we hear Optimus speak...
Optimus Prime's voice: Arise, Rodimus Prime.
    Hot Rod: Optimus...
    • ... and Rodimus Prime is born.
    • Fridge Heartwarming: When looking at deleted scenes from the script, Kup, Arcee, and Optimus himself explicitly do not blame Hot Rod for his death. While they sadly didn't survive to the final product, thus largely fueling the much-maligned reputation of Hot Rod in the fandom, the fact that Optimus himself, from within the Matrix, personally acknowledges Rodimus, showing that he doesn't blame Hot Rod at all, and personally recognizes the young bot's growth throughout their journey as leader when the chips were downnote . Even in his true revival later in season 3, he never looks down on Rodimus.
  • Kup telling Rodimus Prime "I knew you had potential, lad".
    • Even more touching if we consider the scene– heartwarming in itself – when Hot Rod rescued Kup from the giant metal squid-like creature and patched his injuries.
    • The misadventure on Quintessa was where most of Hot Rod's growth occurred, and it's Kup, the most critical of the young bot, who saw all of that.
  • The Touch by Stan Bush is with out a doubt THE Crowning Music of Heartwarming of 1980's rock: Unapologetically encouraging you that "You're at your best when the going gets tough!! You've been put to the test, but it's never enough." Makes you want to be a hero just listening to it.
    • Dare, another song on the film's soundtrack also by Stan Bush, has pretty much the same message, that you can make your dreams come true if you dare.
