Heartwarming / The Snow Queen (2005)

Go To

  • Any of the tender or sweet moments between Gerda and Kai.
  • In this adaptation, as opposed to other ones that makes her a villain, this version of The Snow Queen is benevolent, first shown when she grants Gerda some Liverwort, and further solidified by her sincere maternal affections for Kai, and her ferocious efforts to protect him.
    • To be specific, in Episode 2, Gerda's Grandma, Mathilde, is sick with the flu, so she runs outside, in the middle of the night, to find some near a frozen lake. That same night, The Snow Queen happens to spot her digging in the snow. So with her powers, she summons for Gerda, a Liverwort plant, to allow her to use. This also serves as the first hint that, this time around, she isn't malicious.
    • In Episode 3, She plants a tender kiss to Kai's cheek. Later, her reasons are to protect him from The Devil's influence.
    • In Episode 4, She takes time to call Kai's name a beautiful one.
    • In Episode 6, she takes time to also call Kai's music playing to be beautiful.
      • Said Music reaches the little girl that was about to die from a terminal illness, removing her illness, healing her, and also allowing her peas to grow, helping the girl's mother, like she always wanted.
    • In Episode 33, as a reward for Kai having worked so hard to restore the seal, she not only tucks him in bed, but also gives him a goodnight kiss on the cheek.
    • In Episode 34, she frees Kai from being demonically possessed not by fighting, but by calmly drawing him into a (somewhat literal) Cooldown Hug, which Kai happily accepts after coming to his senses.
