"I couldn't have done it without you guys."

  • That montage in the movie where Simba keeps waking up Timon and Pumbaa for various reasons (such as having to go to the bathroom or because he's thirsty), the last time he's shown waking up Timon and Pumbaa, Simba simply says that he had a bad dream (probably not too hard to figure out what the dream was about). Timon, though initially angry/annoyed after being woken up for the umpteenth time, immediately softens after hearing Simba's reasoning this time and wakes up Pumbaa, explaining the situation to him. Pumbaa (speaking for both himself and Timon) offers to let Simba sleep with them, which the cub agrees to—after that, Simba appears to sleep with them every night (it's absolutely adorable).
    • Also, while Simba's time with Timon and Pumbaa may not have been "productive", per se, the duo ultimately helps him become the ruler he ends up being as an adult as well as helping him through coping with the loss of his dad.
    • This expands the idea that, while not the most ideal people to raise a rightful future king, the duo were probably the best people to take care of a traumatized and lonely child who's life was completely flipped over and lost everything in it, as far as he knew. Whatever flaws Simba has as a king, an adult, and a parent as we see in other media, it's easy to imagine that, had Simba actually managed to survive in the desert on his own, he could've grown up a lot worse had Timon and Pumbaa not come into the picture.
  • At the end, Timon and Pumbaa bow before Simba before his coronation as the King of the Pride Lands, to which Simba gives them a warm hug in return, saying he couldn't have become king without them.
  • Timon's relationship with his mother, especially when he says goodbye to her.
  • The hyenas walking off into the sunset.
  • Timon and Pumbaa share a lot of tender moments together throughout the film. But one of the selling scenes is definitely when they wash up on shore. Timon finds out that Pumbaa's pretty much very alone in the world with nowhere to go; to which he admits that he's in the same position. Add their tender smiles to one another and it's a Heartwarming Moment attack to the feels.
Timon: Pumbaa... you're the only friend I've ever had.
    Pumbaa: (gasps) You mean...
Timon: Yeah, Pumbaa. And friends stick together to the end.
  • When Timon becomes The Determinator and dives into the tunnel to stop the hyenas and save his friends and family. Even though he survived, the implication had been that he was willing to sacrifice his life to help them. He does this without a second thought, completely ignoring his mother's plea for him not to go through with it, which probably would have been the smarter choice.
  • In a Tear Jerker, Timon, after months of enjoying his dream home, suddenly doesn't feel happy in it after the others leave; Rafiki shows up and Timon tells him that he's realized that his real joy is with his friends.
  • After Pumbaa leaves to back up Simba in taking down Scar, Timon follows... and catches up to Pumbaa easily, because the warthog was apparently running in slow-motion the whole way, just so Timon could make up the lost time.
Timon: What was with the running, if you call that running?
Pumbaa: I was giving you time to catch up.
  • Come on, the little bits in the 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' segment were really sweet. In the failed attempts to get Simba and Nala apart, it only brought them closer together.
    • First, Nala gets a thorn in her paw, then Simba tossed it back in the grass. Cue a 'Thank you nuzzle' from Nala.
    • Second, the spiders make a love heart web for not only them, but for Simba and Nala too. Pumbaa sums it up best.
    • The last one is the icing on the cake. When Timon and Pumbaa land in the tree, a flock of butterflies come out and surround Simba and Nala. Aww!
  • Although they didn’t know Simba, Uncle Max and Ma are just as proud and in awe to watch him his place as king, though it's easy to see why. They presumably saw Simba going out of his way to embracing the two, and it's clear what they see. This new rightful king that will restore the Circle of Life was raised well by the outcast they and their people wrote off. Simba is the result of Timon and Pumbaa's own growth, an achievement none of their people could ever have imagined would come from said unlikely duo.
  • "Sing the praises of Great Timon/Greatest meerkat we've ever known!"
  • A small moment, but still touching. After Timon climbs out of the pit at the end, once his Ma is done hugging him in sheer joy that he's OK, she instinctively reaches up to fix his hair like she used to do back at the colony, but stops herself, remembering how annoyed he was by it. He gives her the green light this time by bending down and saying "You missed a spot," but it's nice that she now respects her son enough to respect his wishes about what she does to him.
    • Doubles as a Funny Moment but what follows afterwards is Uncle Max giving Timon a big hug (unwittingly choking him to his discomfort). Having spent the movie being disapproving of Timon and being furious towards him for not alerting the meerkat colony of the hyenas' arrival, which nearly got him killed by them, Timon redeeming himself by finishing the trap to send the hyenas tumbling has made Max proud of his nephew and shows that, unlike Scar's antipathy towards Simba, he truly does love Timon.
  • The meerkats living Happily Ever After with Timon and Pumbaa in their dream home.
Ma: I gotta hand it to you Timon, this place has everything.
Timon: Well now that we're all here it does!
