Unbelievable, super cool, outrageous, and amazing,
phenominal, fantastic, so incredible!
note
  • Emmet attempts to make peace with the Duplo aliens by crafting them a heart. The Duplo leader eats it but it’s still nice of Emmet to make the gesture.
  • While most of the side-characters in the beginning tend to either ignore or treat Emmet with annoyance, three do not. Specifically they are Batman, Lucy, and Princess Unikitty. Batman talks with Emmet about his side-adventures, Lucy is still dating Emmet even if she’s trying to push him into changing like everyone else, and Princess Unikitty actually lives in Emmet’s house which hints that the two hang out regularly. This speaks volumes and shows that while the three have changed with the times they still value Emmet’s company.
    • Similarly, Emmet and Lucy's conversation about brooding after he brings her coffee. Crapsack setting aside, it's a cute, sweet interaction that suggests their relationship has involved many similar happy times over the past five years.
    • Forshadowing aside, the moment Emmet tells Lucy despite how hard he tries to be brooding he can't when she's around because of how happy he is to be with her.
  • Emmet builds a house for himself and Lucy. It gets wrecked and later turned into his spaceship, but Lucy later rebuilds it into a slightly nicer house.
    • When said house is destroyed the first time, Emmet is understandably distraught. Despite being less-than-supportive on the idea of trying to live a normal life again, Lucy still places a comforting hand on his shoulder in understanding.
  • Emmet and Lucy's relationship as a whole, is wholesome. There's never a single moment where Lucy critiques Emmet for being too optimistic or yells at him for not being tough enough. It's clear that she loves him, and loves his presence and influence in her life.
  • After being seperated for 35 minutes or more, Emmet and Lucy reunite together and they hug. They even hold hands!
    Lucy: Emmet!
Emmet: Lucy! What are you doing here?
Lucy: I'm here to save you.
Emmet: I'm here to save you! We are saving each other!
    • You can see Lucy's face when Emmet holds her hands smiling and thinking "Yeap, he's still the same guy, even after five years".
  • Lucy praises Emmet for the idea of building a toaster before they fall into a lava pit.
  • Although it doesn't last when Armamageddon begins, Superman actually treats Green Lantern like a friend during their time in the Systar System instead of finding him obnoxious like he usually does. The reveal that they weren't brainwashed means that Superman genuinely wanted to be nice to him for once.
  • Batman and Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi finding genuine happiness in their marriage. But they have quite a few moments.
    • While in the Bin of Storajj, none of the figures could move. But when Watevra comes back to life, Batman is the first to move, instantly running to greet and hug her.
Batman: Watevs! I thought I lost you!
Watevra: Babe, I thought I lost you!
    • Later in battle against Rex's army, they fight over who's sacrificing themselves to save who.
    • After the wedding & their worlds are merged, Watevra is shown in her horse form and Batman is riding on her back.
    • When Batman asks Superman if he's jealous about his marriage, Superman replies that he's truly happy for Bruce, and Batman in turn proceeds with the wedding despite no longer having the threat of a girl liking Superman more than him looming over him.
  • Emmet saves a teeny star-shaped alien who was uncomfortably wedged in the closed doors. Bearing in mind Emmet is Finn's avatar, it's precious to see Emmet has a Big Brother Instinct inside that giant heart of his. This, plus Emmet's offering of a giant heart to the DUPLO aliens, implies an attempt was made to get along with his sister when she joined in at the end of the last movie and it shows that no matter how much of an jerk he can be to her deep down Finn truely loves his little sister.
    • To top it off, Finn gives this heart to Bianca and tells her it can be "whatever you want it to be". Bianca makes this heart the center of her entire Systar System, turning it into Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi. Even after Bianca constantly changes the queen's shape during her story, she reverts it to a heart for the wedding, suggesting that she admired it to the extent where she would study and memorize how exactly Finn built it.
  • Lucy saving Mayhem from falling to her death, which allows the two to finally have a normal conversation.
  • Although Emmet was doubtful at first to trust in Lucy, due to her showing her true hair by accident, believing that she may be brainwashed, he trusts her, despite Rex's warnings
Lucy: Emmet, it's me (Emmet is doubtful about it)... Emmet? (Beat)
Emmet: I can always trust you.
  • Rex Dangervest telling Emmet he's proud of him right before Back to the Future-ing out of existence.
Rex: I'm proud of you, kid. You're gonna grow up to be better than me.
    • Even before that, Lucy offering her hand to Rex the way Emmett offered his to Lord Business in the first movie. Only this time, Rex doesn't take it, not because he's beyond redemption, but because he knows everything's going to be all right: Lucy came back for Emmett.
  • Lucy turning the "Everything's Not Awesome" from a Dark Reprise of "Everything Is Awesome" into a song of hope.
    • Specifically the line "Everything is better when we stick together", the only line repeated verbatim from the original song - stating that togetherness isn't only beneficial in happy situations, but also makes bad situations better as well.
    • Also keep in mind that in the beginning of the film, Lucy was the one expositing the "everything is bleak and hopeless" viewpoint to Emmet. But it's quite easy to see how much she's come to value who he was and his ability to stay hopeful even in a horrible situation. In the end (almost literally) Lucy learned far more from Emmet than Emmet did from her.
    • "THIS SONG'S GONNA GET STUCK INSIDE YOUR--- Heart!
      • And guess what? Their singing convinces Finn to look inside the storage box and fix Queen Watevra, essentially mending his and Bianca's bond, and reigniting her imagination. All the while, we hear Emmett's You Are Not Alone speech.
    • Listen to the "This song's gonna get stuck inside" bit: it's being sung to "Everything is Awesome's" tune. The two songs become married to one another. This accomplishes what Bianca/Queen Watevra intended in the first place: to marry the two worlds and reconcile the bond between her and Finn.
  • Finn and Bianca reconciling at the end and joining their LEGO worlds together.
  • Lucy rallying both the Systarians and the Apocalypsburgians to come to Emmett's rescue in the Undar System.
    • The latter is especially heartwarming because of how much a departure it is from the mean-spirited populace they were in the beginning of the movie. After Emmett's friends were abducted, the rest of the Apocalypsburgians just threw him under the bus, for lack of better words. Yet, after singing "Everything's not Awesome", they find it in their hearts to come to Emmett's aid like they should've from the start. All of them!
    • Rex's surprise when he sees Lucy arrive to save Emmett. Not angry or infuriated, just surprised. It's almost as though witnessing it ever so slightly cracked his bitter views. Almost.
  • Lucy asking Emmet if they can still be "special best friends", to which he says "forever", before holding her hand. Awwwww!
    • When Lucy apologizes for trying to change him, Emmet immediately responds that he's done way worse stuff during the movie and has already forgiven her.
    • Fridge-Heartwarming: One of the reasons Rex might not have taken Lucy's hand was because he knew, in another timeline, he will take her hand as Emmett.
  • The fact that Bianca went to the trouble of portraying Finn's characters as accurately as possible even when doing so with Lucy/Wyldstyle complicates her goal of marrying Batman to Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi really shows how much love and respect she has for her big brother.
  • The credits show a montage of real life sibling pairs and their combined LEGO creations.
  • As funny as “Not Evil” is, it becomes this in hindsight once we learn Watevra really isn’t evil. She’s really trying to appeal to the interests and needs of the heroes; from giving Benny his own spaceship building team, to giving Metalbeard a LITERAL PIRATE SHIP PLANET for him and his crew to sail, she’s really trying to prove she’s a friend.
    • Fridge Heartwarming: How does Queen Watevra keep figuring out what each of Emmett's friends (minus Lucy) wants? Because her true form is a heart, ergo "love". She knows what each of them loves.
    • Also, she is controlled by Bianca, who most likely watched Finn play with his minifigures for a really long time and as a result was able to figure out what each one of them likes. Bianca really does admire her brother...
  • A minor moment, but a notable one nonetheless. In the beginning of the first film and this one, when Emmet is greeting Mrs. Scratchen-Post's cats, he seems rather disinterested in greeting Jeff. In the epilogue, when he greets the cats and Rex's raptors, he wonders where Jeff is when he almost doesn't show up and looks happy to see him when one of the raptors coughs him up.
  • Lucy reaffirming her realization of how Emmet is perfect the way he is by not only rebuilding the house he himself built for them but lost, but by also making sure Planty is alright as well as giving Emmet one of the original albums (complete with original cover) of his favorite Everything is Awesome song. Further adding to this is her finally showing what is most likely her most well kept secret: that she was one of the bands singers, possibly even the writer or one of the writers of his favorite song, and she’s finally comfortable and happy to let him know. Emmet’s shock and sheer awe of this revelation is nothing short of hilarious, and heartwarming.
