Trails from Zero

  • Just seeing how much Cecile dotes and treats Lloyd as her own little brother despite the two not being related by blood is really heartwarming, and Lloyd himself clearly thinks of Cecile and her parents as his family too. Further increasing this is the fact that Cecile's friends, like Ilya, also treats him affectionately, which shows just how much she gushes about him as her little brother to other people.
  • The night talk between Lloyd and Elie on the roof during chapter 2. Elie has been feeling down because she'd seen first hand just how hard it'd be to change Crossbell for the better and being reminded just why her father's spirits broke, wondering if her dream was truly impossible and how she'd just be a hindrance to the rest of the SSS; even Lloyd's pep talk doesn't really do much at first because Elie simply felt like she's not as strong as Lloyd, and she doesn't understand where his optimism came from. However, Lloyd then reminds her that she is not alone, that her skills and expertise is needed for the SSS to take on Crossbell's problems, and that more than anything he'd be happy and feels like he can take on anything as long as Elie is by his side. It's a very heart-to-heart scene that reminds both Elie and the player that they're trying to tackle the Crossbell problem together, and despite the cheesiness of the speech, Lloyd does manage to cheer Elie up and strengthen her resolve to stay in the SSS and not to give up on her dream. As the cherry on top, the two learns their first combination S-Craft after this scene, further showing that they've gotten closer.
    • Randy and Tio also shows how relieved and happy they are the following morning after seeing Elie back to her usual self, with Tio even saying she was afraid that Elie was going to quit the SSS. It really shows that the SSS has become quite the close-knit team in the two months they'd been together.
  • Dieter's speech in chapter 2 to the SSS about the nature of justice in Crossbell must also be mentioned, simply because he topped it off by saying that he's expecting great things from the SSS and believes that they can be the source of change that the city needs. After getting trash-talked by the mafia, looked down by other police divisions and upstaged by Bracers up till this point, seeing someone who just respects and believes in them from the get-go is an uplifting moment and a much-needed boost of confidence that the group needs.
  • Chapter 3 is just filled to the brim with these moments as the Crossbell Festival is in full swing:
    • Ilya making her stalker and burglar into her secretary after she ranted how someone like Ilya won't ever know the feeling of the poor like herself, even giving the possibility that the girl could be a dancer in the future. This is also where Rixia reveals that Ilya practically did the same thing to her in the past, and shows just why the woman's a respected figure despite her eccentricities.
    • Lloyd and Randy's talk after the Downtown Race as they lay exhausted. After some cryptic allusion to Randy's true self and past, Lloyd admits that Randy reminds him of Guy, and that he sees him as the Big Brother Mentor of the group, and he hopes that once he stands on the same level as Guy and Randy, Randy would be able to tell him his story. This prompts Randy to laugh and headpats Lloyd, saying that he just couldn't resist, and it is a very nice bonding moment between the two.
    • Lloyd and Tio's talk before and after their confrontation with Kitty. Seeing how much Tio trusts Guy, to the point that when she runs away from home she went to Crossbell because that's where he lives and keeping the Misham straps that he gave her despite not being the type of person to get attached to such things, really shows just how reliable and good Guy was.
      • Lloyd promising to take over Guy's promise with Tio, and Tio herself asking Lloyd to make his own promise that is different from Guy's must also be mentioned, especially as this is the first time we see Tio gives a full-blown smile.
    • At the end of Phantom Thief B's quest line, he left a note for the SSS that basically thanked them for helping Renne face the truth about her family. Ouroboros or not, it's heartwarming to see the other Enforcers cares about her in their own way.
  • The Intermission, being a Breather Episode focusing on KeA, is filled with these:
    • KeA is absolutely adorable, and in the one week she'd stayed with the SSS, has gotten incredibly attached to Lloyd and the group. On the other hand, Everyone loves her, even Sergei, and it really makes the SSS feels like a close-knit family.
    • When KeA first saw a car, she excitedly asked whether the SSS has one too... So she can ride on them together with everyone in the SSS. When she later rides on a bus, her reaction is just adorable.
    • When Estelle asks KeA whether she'd want to live with her so the Guild can better protect her, she asked whether Estelle and Joshua will move into the SSS building. When Estelle clarifies it's KeA who'll move in to her home, KeA asked if Lloyd and the rest will move in too. The moment Estelle says she'd be the only one who'd move in, KeA immediately says no with a big smile on her face; the fact that she could resist Estelle's charm and just outright refuses because she'd stay apart from Lloyd and the rest of the SSS really cemented that she had come to love living with them, and definitely sees them as her family.
      • A repeat of the above happened in the hospital, ending with KeA running away mad because Lloyd doesn't get what she wants: she really doesn't care about getting her memories back as long as she could stay with Lloyd and the rest of the SSS.
    • KeA becoming friends with Shizuku. As Arios said, Shizuku is incredibly shy and doesn't have friends her age, so seeing the two becoming friends so quickly is a heartwarming sight to behold.
  • While The Reveal of Tio's past is definitely not this, the rest of the SSS' reaction certainly is. Firstly, they didn't force Tio to reveal her past even when they're currently investigating the drug, because they knew Tio must have a good reason for not telling them, and forcefully asking questions that's clearly uncomfortable for her to answer is not what friends and comrades would do. Secondly, after Tio revealed her past and wondered why she's alive while the other children were dead, Elie hugged Tio and reassures her that not knowing the answer to such a question is only natural; Lloyd adds that neither he, Elie, or Randy know the answer to that either, and Randy adds that he had lost his way too. But all three reassures Tio that there's no need to rush in finding that answer, and she doesn't have to search for that answer alone. Tio was touched so much that she finally shed tears, and despite saying how Elie and Randy has been infected by Lloyd's cheesiness, she's clearly happy and relieved to have them by her side.
    • Later that night, Tio would be asleep in her room, but she's not alone; KeA sleeps with her, and Zeit stands guard for the two girls. It really shows that yes, the SSS is practically one big family now.
  • Lloyd and Elie's final bonding event. In an inverse of what happened at the rooftop in chapter 2, this time it was Elie who inquires about Lloyd's troubles, and him baring his insecurities and heart to her; of how he's always been chasing after Guy and wondering if he could ever measure up to his brother. Elie responded by hugging him from behind and reminding him that the reason the SSS is able to stay and work so well together is not because of Guy or anyone else, but Lloyd. It's a really sweet moment.
  • KeA trying to protect the SSS as they got overwhelmed by the brainwashed CGF, offering to give herself in so that Lloyd and the others won't get hurt anymore, is already this, but the SSS' reaction further cements it. Even though they are winded and exhausted, all of them immediately stands up and begs KeA not to go and give herself in, with everyone saying how important she is to them now; even when KeA expresses her doubt because she has no memories, everyone is firm on their stance that KeA is someone precious to them. It's a really heartwarming moment that shows once again that yes, the SSS is now one big family who'd face everything together.
  • One simple sentence from Estelle and Joshua to Renne: Let's be a family. Awwwwww...
  • On that same note, Pater Mater deciding to ignore Renne's order to run, instead dropping Renne right in front of Estelle and Joshua so the three can finally work everything out.
  • After Geofront lead editor Scott Tijerina passed away in October 2022, a chest message in Stargazer's Tower was updated to "In loving memory of Daniel Scott Tijerina, our fallen hero who exemplified the indomitable spirit of Crossbell."

Trails to Azure

  • Take Sully to the Michelam fortune-teller and let her ask the question. You'll hear the fortune-teller assure Sully that she belongs right where she is and that she knew another girl from the slums who grew up to be a beautiful and strong Bracer. Yes, that's Lucciola who not only survived the collapse of Liber Ark but is still concerned for the 'sister' she left behind.
  • Lloyd reuniting with his fellow SSS members one by one after escaping prison. Bonus points go to Tio and Elie's scenes.
  • Bring Rixia to Arc en Ciel before storming Orchis Tower, and you'll see a cutscene where the cast and crew (minus Illya who's still in the hospital) welcoming her back despite her being off working for Heiyue as Yin.
  • While it's mostly a tearjerker, there's something positively heartwarming about the giant and now sentient combat robot Pater Mater deciding to sacrifice itself for Renne.
  • Talk to the group of three children at West Street before going to the Azure Tree, and they'll tell you they formed the "Crossbell Junior Support Section". Lloyd and the SSS went from the laughing stock of Crossbell to heroes and role models.
