  • The climax of the interview.
Mike Wallace: And do you wish you hadn't come forward? Do you wish you hadn't blown the whistle?
Jeffrey Wigand: There are times when I wish I hadn't done it. There are times when I feel com... compelled to do it. If you asked me, would I do it again, do I think it's worth it?... Yeah, I think it's worth it.
  • In the finale, Mike Wallace, who was constantly afraid of what kind of legacy he will end up having, comes around and switches sides, calling out his boss for fucking up and caving-in to Big Tobacco. And most importantly, he doesn't try to pretend he didn't do anything wrong personally.
Don Hewitt: Mike, you tell him.
Mike Wallace: You fucked up, Don.
    (Hewitt has a Double Take)
Don Hewitt: It's old news. Stick with me, like always. We'll be okay. These things have a half-life of 15 minutes.
Mike Wallace: No, that's fame. Fame has a 15-minute half-life. Infamy lasts a little longer. We caved. It's foolish. It's simply dead wrong.
  • Lowell sticking to Wigand through the entire thing. He has nothing to gain from it: he barely knows the guy, the case stinks and his own network decided to abandon it... and Lowell still stands up both for Wigand and for the fact that he, personally, got him into the whole mess, so hell or high water, Bergman never drops the case and remains supportive to Wigand until full vindication.
