Book 1: Moon

    Chapter 1: Echoes of Thunder
  • After a strike of lightning booms outside the prince's window, Callum assures Ezran that everything was alright and to go back to sleep.
  • Despite being a jerk to him in his first appearance, Soren goes easy on Callum after realizing that Callum wants to impress Claudia.
  • While not on full display, Callum looking worryingly over at his little brother as he plays with Bait outside hints at how much he cares for Ezran and doesn't want him to be king at such a young age.

    Chapter 2: What is Done
  • Harrow's tearful goodbye to Callum. Callum knows he is not the rightful heir to the throne so he addresses Harrow with respect for his position, to which Harrow insists that he doesn't need to do.
  • Callum proclaims that he won't need to read Harrow's final letter to him because everything will be okay. Then Callum turns to leave before returning and giving Harrow a hug, which he reciprocates.
  • Callum pretending to be his brother when he hears that he's the other target besides the king.
"Well, you found me. I am prince Ezran."

    Chapter 3: Moonrise
  • Claudia looking at the portrait of Harrow and Viren when they were much younger, and Viren admits that they have been close friends for a long time. He also seems to be ready to sacrifice himself for Harrow as he takes the basket of the two headed snake and prepares to see Harrow.
  • Claudia assuring Callum as she casts her lightning spell that she wouldn't hurt Ez.
  • It's a small moment, but Harrow is looking fondly at a picture in a frame before putting it down when Viren arrives.
  • Soren hesitates to have the guard seize Callum on Viren's orders. Soren may act like a Jerk Jock towards Callum at times, but he's not a bad person and doesn't want to see him hurt.
  • As soon as Rayla sees the Dragon Prince's egg she expends every effort to stop the assassination. She even fights Runaan, who is implied to be her mentor and Parental Substitute, to cover for Callum and Ezran. Think about it. She could have killed the princes and handed over the egg to him instead, and he would have definitely forgiven her and then some for her earlier failure. This proves what a kind girl she is at heart.
  • Rayla telling Callum "Say the word, and I'll go back into that tower with you."

    Chapter 4: Bloodthirsty
  • Rayla decides to get Callum's magic cube for him from the Winter Lodge, even though she knows it's probably a waste of time.
  • Amaya greets the princes by giving them a giant bear hug, being glad that they are safe.
  • While trying to keep Amaya from discovering Rayla at the lodge, the princes tell her that they haven't eaten breakfast yet. Amaya immediately stops her security sweep of the lodge and scolds them by saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day before taking them to the kitchen to feed them.
  • While it's misplaced, Amaya's brutal takedown and interrogation of Rayla not only displays her badassery but also her Mama Bear tendencies considering she was mostly acting this way because she thought Rayla was at the lodge to hurt Callum and Ezran.
  • Ezran seems to be feeling closer to Rayla, saying that she'd know what to do after they sent Bait down the dumbwaiter.

    Chapter 5: An Empty Throne
  • After the tense situation at the end of the last episode, it's genuinely nice to see the group become closer friends.
  • Amaya's message to Sarai when she visits her grave. No translation is needed to see how much she loved her elder sister.
    • Viren and Amaya even laugh over Sarai's love of sweets showing how much the queen is loved and fondly remembered, even after her death.
  • Callum tries to help Rayla relax on the boat ride by asking her questions about herself. It even starts to work until they hit the topic of her parents.
  • Rayla manages to overcome her fear of water to jump back in the river and save Bait, even noting that she's risking her life to save a toad that doesn't even like her.
  • When it seems like the group is set up to get back in the boat to keep traveling downstream, Callum kicks the boat away so that the group can go by land instead since he knows it will be more comfortable for Rayla.
    • She takes note of this gesture and warmly thanks Callum.
  • Amaya telling Gren her reason for choosing him to look for the princes, despite it being a major disadvantage for her.
Amaya: [General Translation] "I trust you, you have been my voice. Now I need you to be my will and save those boys."

    Chapter 6: Through the Ice
  • During her fight with Corvus, who at this point still thinks that Rayla kidnapped the princes, Rayla tells him that she doesn't want to hurt Callum and Ezran because they are her friends. The trio has only been together for a few days at most but they're already thick as thieves.
  • Rayla finally comes clean to Callum and Ezran about what's wrong with her hand and how her binding won't come off unless Ezran dies. She then declares that because of that, losing her hand is worth it.
  • Rayla, Ezran and Callum group hugging once they realize that Ezran is ok.

Chapter 7: The Dagger and the Wolf
  • Ezran is shown wrapped up in Rayla's cloak to get warm as he tries to fight off the cold he got from falling into the frozen lake in the previous episode.
  • Rayla pretending to be human is mainly funny, but it's nice to see her have a bit more fun with her friends as she tries to blend in.
    • Shortly after swiping some gloves from a snowman (to hide her four-fingered hands), she then takes the snowman's carrot nose, breaks it in half, and sticks it back in its head like horns, giggling as she proclaims "Snow elf!" in a bit of genuine joy we haven't seen much of from her.
  • Rayla trying not to let her failure to get the tie cut off get her down as she peppily asks her friends how their visit to the vet went.

    Chapter 8: The Cursed Caldera
  • While hiding out from the giant leech monster, the team is split in two and the group spill their hearts out about their insecurities to each other while being reassured by their friends of how You Are Better Than You Think You Are.
Rayla: The morning I came to your castle, my team was discovered by a human guard. It was my job to chase him down and stop him. But when I caught him, he looked up at me, and he was so afraid. And then I just let him go. I don't know why.
Ezran: Because you felt for him.
Rayla: But he was a human. My enemy.
Ezran: Yeah, but then you saw he was scared. And you knew he was a person, just like you.
Rayla: That shouldn't have mattered. I had a job to do. Do you realize I'm an assassin who's never killed anyone?
Ezran: Uh, I think that's a good thing. And by the way, thanks for failing at your mission. I like being alive.
Rayla: I'm glad you're alive, Ezran. Knowing you is definitely worth losing a hand for.
Ezran: That's the weirdest, nicest thing anyone's ever said to me.

    Chapter 9: Wonderstorm
  • Ezran persuades Rayla to check out the spooky sound.
Ezran: What if someone needs help?
[Rayla kneels to face him, placing a hand on his shoulder]
Rayla: [smiling fondly] Ez, you have a good heart. [scowls] It's super annoying.
  • Lujanne revealing the truth behind Ava's leg: it was just an illusion to help her fit in.
Lujanne: […] I understood that humans would have trouble accepting her. But I knew her spirit was strong and that was all that really mattered.
    [flashback]
Lujanne: Oh, what a beautiful creature.
    Ellis: [pleading] No, she's hurt.
    Lujanne: [cradling Ava] She's perfect.
    • As she removes the collar holding the illusion up:
Lujanne: She never needed that fourth leg to be happy. Everyone else did.
  • Ezran reassuring and hugging Rayla when she starts blaming herself for dropping the egg and causing their current predicament.
Ezran: You tried, Rayla. You're so good, and brave.
[She sinks to her knees, hugging him back]
  • Callum sacrificing the Primal Stone to hatch the egg, especially after expressing his insecurities in the previous episode about feeling like he was nothing without it.
  • Azymondias is a Ridiculously Cute Critter. After he hatches, he is playful with both Bait and Ezran.
  • When Azymondias meets Rayla, he notices her bound and painful hand, but Rayla says, "It's okay, little one. The important thing is you. One miracle is enough for me today." But Zym gives her another miracle anyway by pulling her binding off. She looks stunned, then breaks into a relieved smile, looking almost ready to cry, as she nuzzles Zym's head with her own.
  • The tracking spell causes glowing lights to appear around the group. Implications of the spell aside, it's sweet to see their amazement at the pretty lights.

Book 2: Sky

    Chapter 1: A Secret and a Spark
  • As he's writing a letter home, Callum has nothing but good things to say about Rayla, even though they did NOT meet on the best of terms and had several ugly hangups throughout their journey. She even interrupts him halfway through his praise and playfully provides several suggestions as to how great she is.
  • Lujanne tries to cheer Callum up after telling him that he can't perform magic by offering him a plate of ice cream. Even if the plate is actually bugs she used an illusion on, she's trying.

    Chapter 2: Half Moon Lies
  • Despite outwardly hating each other, there are moments between Rayla and Soren showing how the two are not so different from each other.
    • Soren even seems to find Rayla a little attractive, thinking she was into him.
  • Claudia being absolutely enamored with Zym, even though she's aware that one day the dragon prince could become a deadly force that could easily wipe them out... But he's so cute and little right now!
  • The fact that Callum and Ezran are just so happy to see Claudia and Soren in the first place. Even if they parted on bad terms, they truly see them as their closest friends.
    • Claudia even forgives Callum for stealing and then smashing her priceless Storm Sphere without a hint of animosity, saying she has faith that he would only have done it for a good reason.
  • Although Soren's objectives may be reprehensible, he refuses to outright kill a child regardless of what's at stake or who ordered him to do it.
    • Earlier, he insists that Claudia wake a sleeping Rayla because "it wouldn't be sporting" to kill a sleeping enemy, even though he's had first-hand experience in how deadly elves can be. In spite of his goofy demeanor (and his orders to kill his friends) Soren really does care about his honor.
  • Callum and Claudia's date with the two of them trying to spruce up their appearance and almost sharing a kiss before Claudia is overcome by guilt about lying to Callum regarding Harrow's death.

    Chapter 3: Smoke and Mirrors
  • When Soren sees Claudia’s eyes full of tears after her date with Callum, he is immediately ready to punch him for hurting his sister but she assures him that Callum would never do anything to hurt her. He then goes on to tell her, a bit awkwardly, that if there's anything he can do for her as her brother, he would always be there for her. Seeing as how most of the time Soren's teased his sister constantly, it's nice to see that underneath it all, he would do anything to keep her safe.
  • While Callum can't bring himself to tell Ezran about their father's death, he does give him life advice and lets his little brother know that he loves him.
  • After Callum fails to tell Ezran about their father, he goes to where Rayla is and tells her that and why, leading to him tearfully revealing he knew, deep down, Harrow was dead but hoped he wasn't. The two friends end up hugging it out.
    • Callum eventually breaks down and mourns the loss of his stepdad. While Rayla knows there's nothing she can say that would comfort him, she embraces him, wordlessly letting him know she's there for him.
  • Soren tries to bring up how disappointed Harrow would be in Callum if they didn't come home. Having just told Callum his dad was dead, Claudia snaps at Soren for being so insensitive. It's nice to see that Claudia really cares for Callum, despite what happens later.
  • Lujanne while pointing out how the others obviously had no regard for walking around this sacred place that she was supposed to protect, she admits that she will miss them all and it would be incredibly lonely without them. Lujanne even hugs Ellis and tells the little girl she was always welcomed back at the Nexus whenever she wants, while also giving Ava her collar back to remind her that someone was always looking out for her.
  • Corvus protecting the prince's on Amaya's orders, willfully going against Claudia and Soren who are obviously intent on harming them.
  • Ezran holding Zym up in the air while Phoe-Phoe flies so he can get a feeling for flying. Even though Zym was at first terrified due to the height, he does start enjoying what flying could feel like.

Chapter 4: Voyage of the Ruthless
  • Towards the start of the episode, as the kids are still riding Phoe-Phoe, Rayla is cuddling Ezran, presumably to keep him warm.
  • Rayla jumping over the side of a cliff to catch Ezran. For someone whose mission was to kill the Crown Prince, she has willingly accepted her role as his protector.
    • As well as the fact that she does so knowing that Callum would be able to catch her and hold them up. While it's taken some time for Callum to fully trust her, she shows that she fully trusts him.
  • Callum suggests the group walk around a body of water to avoid making Rayla uncomfortable and seasick by taking a ship across. While they ultimately decide that they have to cross by ship, Rayla does note the sweetness of his suggestion.
  • When Callum tries meditating in the rain with Zym, only to quickly flop onto his back after getting fed up over being no closer to understanding sky magic, the little dragonling hops onto his chest and holds out his wings to shield Callum from the rain. Though futile, since its pouring down, its a sweet gesture all the same from the young Dragon Prince.
  • After Callum gets back from the eye of the storm.note  Callum is depressed about a myriad of things; him putting Zym in potential danger, him thinking getting himself killed would help him learn how to use magic, but most apparently his lack of resolve to learn Sky Magic. Raylanote  comforts Callum by reminding him that not having the courage to kill yourself doing something stupid, is a good thing.
    Rayla: What's wrong?
Callum: I feel stupid. You were right. (Rayla tries to state that Callum is not stupid, but Callum continues) I could have gotten Zym killed. I put us both in danger. And worst of all, when we were right there, in the center of the storm, I thought I wanted this badly enough, but in the end I didn't have the guts.
    Rayla: Good.
    • Followed by Rayla giving Callum the warmest of embraces, showing how relieved she is that he is okay.

    Chapter 5: Breaking the Seal
  • Harrow and Sarai clearly loved each other, and while Sarai did disagree with Harrow and his ideas, she still supported him in his decisions.
  • The family portrait being painted of the royals, all wearing goofy smiles on their face as they are all probably wondering when the session would be over.
  • When it's time for his history book portrait, Harrow tells Viren to stand beside him. Saying that he knows that he will always stand by his side in the future.
  • Sarai and Amaya were very close, with Amaya telling a joke to her sister about Harrow to which Sarai laughs at. When asked what was so funny, the sisters immediately clam up, but give each other giddy looks.
    • Earlier in the episode when Sarai can be seen sitting on her throne, Amaya is standing near her, acting as her bodyguard.
  • When Bait is jealous of Zym and upset at feeling left out, Callum, in one of his sadder moods, realizes what the glow toad wants and invites him below deck to give some more light, making Bait shine a bit and give a rare smile.

Chapter 6: Heart of a Titan
  • The Queens of Duren hugging each other over their victory and pausing for a moment to share a kiss. It's easy to see how in love they were.
  • Sarai's Big Sister Instinct kicking in when she sees Amaya injured and runs to her sister's side before she falls. Once she removes Amaya's helmet, her little sister assures her that she only received a scar on her cheek and she was fine.
Amaya: (signing) How do I look?
Sarai: (signing) Not great... but you should see the other guy.
  • For as slimy as his motives are, Viren wraps up his tale with the image of his Sarai riding toward him to pull him to safety. He clearly thinks fondly of her, as does the Queens of Duren he tried to save.
  • Viren turning back to help the queens of Duren. Whatever he became later, at that moment he was capable of self-sacrifice.
  • In Harrow's memories, he watches a young Callum drawing on the ground from his balcony. Wanting to grow closer to his step-son and foster his talents, he later gifts Callum a sketchbook. While initially shy, Callum beams at the gift and hugs it closely.
    • Even sweeter was the fact that Callum was drawing Harrow's face in the ground. He might not admit it, but he did start to see Harrow as his father.
  • Another of Harrow's memories shows Ezran and Callum play sword-fighting, but when Callum accidentally hurts Ezran, he drops his sword and comforts his brother, checking to see if he was okay.
  • After reading Harrow's letter, Callum hugs Ezran and tells him he loves him.

    Chapter 7: Fire and Fury
  • At the beginning of the episode, Rayla wakes up in the middle of the night and sees that Callum is awake and agitated. She walks over and listens to his worries and anxieties, never diminishing them or criticizing Callum. She just provides a sounding board, and tries to get him relax enough about the immediate steps of their journey to go back to sleep. All without discouraging him from trying to become a mage again. While they've met on bad terms and haven't known each other for very long, this shows just how strong and mature their friendship has become.
  • Soren sets Corvus free and orders him to evacuate the townsfolk from the attacking dragon. Despite having been their prisoner for the past few episodes, Corvus agrees and tells Soren and Claudia not to get themselves killed.
  • Rayla runs off to save the downed dragon from Soren and Claudia on her own, but assures Callum that this isn't something he has to help her with. Earlier in the show this is something that surely would have ended in an argument, showing how much closer they've gotten.
  • Callum keeps drawing pictures of Rayla while he waits for her to return since he can't stop worrying about her. He eventually goes out to help her himself and saves both her and the dragon with dark magic. Though this does bite him later due to his inexperience with it.
  • As Claudia prepares to take Zym and Ezran, Soren weakly calls out to his sister for help. She starts to become conflicted, looking back and forth between her mission and her brother in pain. After a few more moments, she closes her eyes and dashes towards Soren, telling him to hold on. She disobeys her father's exact instructions because her love for her brother is greater than her desire for his approval.

Chapter 8: The Book of Destiny
  • Despite how sad the situation is, Soren admits that he's relieved he can't move, because that means he won't be able to hurt the princes' and carry out his father's orders, no matter how desperately he wants his approval.
    • Claudia in turn worries about her brother's condition and has a breakdown over how she can't do anything to help him.

    Chapter 9: Breathe
  • Despite what happened in the previous episodes, Claudia is nothing but gentle and reassuring to Ezran. When he talks about his father and starts choking up, she immediately puts a hand on his shoulder and tells him he doesn't have to talk about what happened if he doesn't want to.
  • Callum's continuing fever dream, despite the scare, still gives us some heartwarming moments.
    • With Callum's fever dream getting worse, Callum struggles with how little control he has over his mind, along with his inability to fully grasp Sky Magic despite knowing the secret to it all is inside his head.note  However, like all challenges in life, mom comes in and helps her son work through it.
      • The implication that Sarai actually is there in some form, and after Callum finally understands, she embraces him and tells him that she loves him before the dream ends.
    • Rayla's almost confession to a sick Callum.
      • Rayla is still in the middle of her breakdown from the previous episode. Only now her breakdown has developed to the point where she is now clutching Callum in a bone crushing hug begging him not die. It is quite tear jerking, but it is also heartwarming how much Rayla cares about this human she has known for little over a week.
  • Claudia sacrificing a young deer to save her brother and as she returns to the hospital she zaps him with her magic, causing her to pass out when it's finished and Soren can once again move. However, this spell has drained Claudia causing a stripe of her hair to turn permanently white, but she doesn't care as she tearfully smiles at her brother with her black eyes fading away.
Claudia: (tired but relieved) Don't worry... you're fine, that's all that matters.

Book 3: Sun

    Chapter 1: Sol Regem
  • Despite the heavy repercussions of the magic he's using, Ziard truly believes it will help his people where the dragons wish to subjugate them. He also cares deeply for the people living in Elarion. When Sol Regem used them in his threat and flies off to kill them, Ziard blasted the dragon with magic to keep them safe.
  • When Sol Regem allows Rayla to pass but claims he must kill Callum, Rayla admits that despite all of the other humans being horrible to them, Callum isn't bad:
Rayla: I agree, some humans are evil…but not this one. Not Callum. The only reason the Dragon Prince is alive is because of this human. He left his home and his family and he sacrificed everything so Azymondias could be born. He’s noble and true. When we met, he could have had me captured or killed. But he didn’t, because without knowing me or anything about me, he saw past human hatred and did what he knew was right. He’s smart and kind and brave, and he’s my friend. My best friend.
    • She then holds her hand out for Callum which he takes without hesitation.
    • When Rayla begins listing all of Callum's good qualities, we see her smile and proceed to get lost in her thoughts, clearly enjoying just how fond she is of this human.
  • Amaya and Gren reunite at the bridge with a hug.
  • Despite the smell of his scarf, Rayla and Callum give each other soft smiles before Rayla takes it and runs off to distract Sol Regem.
    • As they manage to trap Sol Regem and escape with their lives, Rayla comments that she should probably keep Callum's scarf since it seemed like it brought good luck.
  • Amaya deciding to pull off a Heroic Sacrifice for her group, which Gren isn't on board for, but she still tries to reassure him in what could be her last moments.
Gren: But, Amaya... You won't survive.
General: (after she signs to Gren) What did she say?
Gren: She said the rest of us will.
  • Despite their earlier animosity, when Janai is hanging onto the broken bridge after the bomb explodes, Amaya goes over to help her up.

    Chapter 2: The Crown
  • At the beginning of his first day, Ezran has some fun with some guards who cross their spears and remove them when he looks like he's about to pass through. He lets them do this a few times, and the guards seem to be playing along because they can see Ezran is having fun.
  • Opeli being a Reasonable Authority Figure and supporting Ezran throughout his rein as king. She guides him the best she can and shows sympathy when he struggles. Opeli is able to see that he's just a child who's lost his father and ill-equipped for the heavy responsibilities of the crown. She even gently suggests that he could step away from the crown for a few years, leave the ruling to a regent of his own choosing so that he could focus on just growing up. And all without any ulterior motives, completely unlike Viren.
  • Rayla takes Callum to a meadow that she loved to spend time in as a kid because it was, and still is, inhabited by multiple Adoraburrs because she knows him well enough to think that he'd like them, and he loves them. Rayla sharing a piece of her childhood with Callum and him loving it is very sweet.

    Chapter 3: Ghost
  • While what follows is more of a Tear Jerker, Callum and Rayla performing the ritual dance to enter her home together is very sweet.
  • Rayla reuniting with her surrogate father and Runaan's husband, Ethari, in spite of effectively being banished from her own home. Ethari initially believes her to be at fault for the failure of her team's mission (and Runaan's "death"), having had no way of knowing what truly happened except that they all died but her, but he decides to speak to her anyway and put his faith in her. It doubles as a Tearjerker, because of the banishment and Ethari's own heartbreak, losing his husband and now his surrogate daughter too, but seeing Rayla with a member of her own family after two seasons is incredibly Heartwarming!
  • During a flashback before the Moonshadow Elf assassins left for their mission, Ethari hands his husband Runaan his flower and tells him "My heart goes out with this one" referring to Runaan. Runaan gently puts his hand on Ethari's cheek and tells him that he promises he'll return Ethari's heart to him and the two share a beautiful passionate kiss.
  • Janai hesitating when her queen tells her to dispose of an imprisoned Amaya after Amaya refuses divulge any information from her side. Amaya treated her honourably in their previous fight, and in return Janai feels a degree of a respect for her. When the Sunfire queen puts Amaya through the trial of the light, Janai is horrified at the idea that Amaya might fail and persuades her to look into the light.
  • Amaya getting through the trial is Awesome, slightly Tearjerker because it obviously pained her, but it is Heartwarming when it shows that Amaya is pure inside and out - a human without an ounce of darkness or corruption. The queen even says so out loud with grudging regard that it is rare in humans, though it may just be her own prejudice.
  • Callum has never been quick to anger and is very patient and understanding. As soon as Rayla’s banishment gets to her, however, he marches up to Ethari and goes off on her behalf, yelling and slamming his fists on things. He knows that Ethari can’t see or hear them, but nobody treats his friends this way.

    Chapter 4: The Midnight Desert
  • When Callum sees a boomerang, he can't really explain it to Rayla, but for some reason it somehow feels very familiar. Especially the way Jack De Sena voices that line, as it's filled with nostalgia and warmth.
    • Cue the end credits scene where Callum is wielding a familiar boomerang.
  • Ezran asking the baker for a big favor in looking after Bait for him. He tells him he knows something bad is going to happen and trusts no one else in the kingdom but him to know what Bait needs.
  • With Rayla spending the whole episode depressed and blaming herself for everything that's happened, Callum finally tells her to shut up and that she's none of those things. She's kind, strong and has a big heart. This culminates with Rayla kissing Callum on the lips and Rayla making him promise to never speak of that moment again.
    • Callum saying (or fumbling his way through) that he wasn't expecting the kiss and he wasn't saying those things so she'd kiss him. Callum's feelings for Rayla have been growing all season, but he was clearly trying to make her feel better for her own sake and did not expect a reward, let alone a kiss. He had no intention of taking advantage of her emotional state, even if it meant possibly losing his chance with her altogether. See the next episode, in which he waits until she's smiling again before he returns her kiss.

    Chapter 5: Heroes and Masterminds
  • Soren choosing to secretly betray his own father by helping Ezran, Corvus, and Opeli escape. Having failed Ezran's father once when the assassins came for him, he's also trying to live up to his own honour as a Crownguard and redeem himself by saving Ezran. He goes as far as to contact Lujanne beforehand for help, effectively giving Ezran a way to quickly reach Callum, Rayla, and Zym in Xadia.
  • Viren, after episodes of him being particularly heinous as he gaslit Soren, manipulated Claudia, and schemed to take the throne without even lifting a finger — he gets a Pet the Dog moment with Claudia. Yes, he gaslit and manipulated his own children, particularly to save his own bacon from Claudia's potential animosity, but he shares a genuine fatherly moment with Claudia when she speaks to him. It's even preceded with a moment where he softens to her in a moment where the viewer has come to expect him would snap, further detach himself, or do something calculating. Claudia expresses that she's there for him, and they share a warm hug. When Aaravos refers to Claudia as a valuable "asset", Viren snaps at him for the first time since their alliance, stating, "She is not an asset. She is my daughter."
  • Callum explaining to Nyx why Rayla went out of her way to save her even after Nyx betrayed them, describing Rayla as selfless and strong and caring. When Nyx leaves them alone, Callum and Rayla end up sharing a quiet moment where Callum basically gets lost in Rayla's eyes and kisses her, reciprocating Rayla's kiss from the previous episode. He gets flustered and apologizes, to which Rayla responses with something close to a "Shut Up" Kiss, which then culminates into a Big Damn Kiss.
Callum: [Dazed after Rayla's kiss] Wow.

    Chapter 6: Thunderfall
  • The episode's flashback begins with King Harrow in his throne room playing hide-and-seek with Ezran and Bait. Bait is planted on top of his head while Harrow pretends to search for him, and afterwards Harrow praises him for being so good at hiding. Bait responds by changing colours in delight. It's some very necessary wholesomeness.
  • While it's definitely a sad moment, Callum describing all his feelings about seeing Avizandum's petrified form highlights how far he's come as a person. He says he hates him, but seeing him now, he mainly feels sad and regretful that Zym's father was taken away from him. Instead of being consumed by anger and grief, he just sees it as an avoidable tragedy, but is glad to see that, through Zym and Ezran, the cycle of violence may indeed be broken.

    Chapter 7: Hearts of Cinder
  • When Aaravos asks what Viren intends to gain from all his crimes and treachery, he responds that he has no personal interest in power, spoils, or conquest, and that he only wants "humanity to flourish, without a knife at its throat". Aaravos needs to frame conquest as a means to an end before Viren fully submits to that line of thinking. note  Even though this episode showcases some of his most heinous crimes to date, Viren's motivation is surprisingly selfless.
  • When Callum and Rayla behave like dorks and joke about how their "forbidden romance" must stay a secret from the Dragon Queen and the world. It's sweet watching them goof off and being so comfortable around each other.
  • Though we only catch the tail-end of their conversation, it seems Amaya and the Sunfire elf interpreter have been holding an amiable conversation.
  • When Rayla wakes up after being unconscious, the first thing she does is kiss Callum. Without hesitating, he kisses her back.

    Chapter 8: Dragonguard
  • It's a little subdued, but just the fact that Callum only approaches Ibis about learning magic after he finds out enemies are approaching. He's no longer fixated on learning magic for its own sake or to assuage his insecurities. Instead, he's focused on the mission, and is only pushed to follow Ibis when he needs to learn new skills to protect his friends. No selfish motivation.
  • Rayla's parents never abandoned their post, and instead stayed to defend the Dragon Prince's egg to their last. Rayla's mother even managed to convince Viren to take the egg instead of destroying it, which means that the only reason Zym is alive is because of her quick thinking.
    • While nothing is confirmed, Rayla's parents seem to have been the only ones who stayed and tried to protect the egg, and as mentioned above, did everything they could to save it, even if it meant having it stolen instead of outright destroyed. Who's to say they weren't thinking of their own child the entire time?
  • Bait comforting Zym whenever the young dragon is upset over his mother. He snuggles right up to him, a far cry from his grumpy, even jealous, attitude in the previous season.
  • Even though it's painful to see them fight, Rayla and Callum's argument is born out of the concern and respect they have for each other. Neither wants to see the other think poorly of them or hurt in any way, and the frustration and worry between them is obvious even as they raise their voices.
  • Callum revealing the truth to Rayla about her parents' final moments, providing her with the closure she's been desperately needing her entire life. Rayla is so overcome that she doesn't even know what to think right away, but the sheer joy, relief, and gratitude in her face is plain to see.
    • And how does Callum prove to Rayla that he knows what happened? By drawing a perfect sketch of her parents in his scrapbook, allowing her to see their faces for the first time since she was a child.
    • This scene is also heartwarming because it shows what kind of mage Callum is. We see Viren, Aaravos, and Claudia use magic to either control and manipulate people or to further their own power. Callum, on the other hand, empowers, defends, and protects the people around him. Here, he uses his magic entirely for Rayla, helping her find comfort and closure in knowing the kind of heroes her parents were. When she's at a loss at what to do next, he gently reminds her it's ultimately her decision and no one else's.
      • She responds by putting her hand on his and saying "We should decide together." That's a fairly significant thing for her to say. Throughout the series, if there was something that she thought needed to be done, she would usually peel off and handle it by herself without much input from others (such as going to save Pyrrah on her own). Now? She has decided that, whatever happens, they are stronger if they face what comes next together. Rayla has certainly come a long way since Book 1.
    • Callum comforting Rayla in this way also shows his growth as well. At the end of Book 2, he resorts to Dark Magic to save her, so he wasn't above using unethical means to protect his friends. Here, Callum could have easily used what he saw to convince Rayla to leave with them; it may have been morally questionable, but nowhere near as bad as Dark Magic. But he's no longer willing to do that. Instead, Callum was willing to accept Rayla's choice, provided it was her choice.
  • Before Callum casts the spell, he asks himself "What really happened here?", despite having no reason to think that Rayla's story is untrue. It's unknown if he wants it to end up being false to alleviate Rayla of her guilt or if he genuinely has doubts that the people who gave birth to a brave, loyal elf like Rayla could themselves end up being cowards, but there is still something rather sweet about giving people you've never met and have heard over and over were cowards the benefit of the doubt.

    Chapter 9: The Final Battle
  • When planning the battle, Rayla declares that she will stay up in the spire to defend Zym as a last resort. Janai tells her she will be a worthy defender and is the last Dragonguard. Even though Callum is the only one present who she's not a virtual stranger to, it's plain to see how much they all trust her with this important role. Rayla is absolutely touched by this. Becomes sweeter when you remember that Callum has a history of singing her praises vividly, which is probably how they all know that she's already a devoted protector.
  • Pre-battle, Amaya gives Soren a friendly thump on the chest before they ready themselves for the enemy's charge.
  • Aanya arriving just in time to save Callum and aid the heroes.
    • Becomes sweeter when you realize that, between the massive sacrifice Katolis ended up making to help her kingdom in a dire situation and her seeing clear through Viren's intentions, Aanya probably didn't even hesitate to rally her troops to stop Viren and ally Katolis's true ruler in protecting Xadia.
  • The deserters using their badge of shame as their banner, transforming it into a badge of honor.
  • After the battle is won, Callum looks worriedly at the top of the Spire, concerned that something could have happened to Rayla or Zym during the fighting.
  • Ezran supporting his brother's relationship with Rayla.
    Ezran: Go to her.
  • Callum screaming when Rayla pushes Viren off the cliff with her and he doesn't hesitate to jump down to save her. After softly declaring his love for her, he's then able to conjure magic wings to catch Rayla.
    • Callum's utter devotion to Rayla is so strong, that he would actually break through his limits just to protect her.
Rayla: Callum! But how did you—?
Callum: Because I love you, Rayla! I really do.
Rayla: I love you too, Callum.
  • Callum and Rayla affirming their love for each other and even sharing a kiss mid-air!
    • It's also a beautiful scene in part because it's a wonderful reversal from their first mutual kiss in "Heroes and Masterminds." This time, Rayla is in awe of Callum, who no doubt was inspired by her heroics!
  • The battle is over, and our heroes' side have won! Their win in the battle is Heartwarming when you realize that they won through unity between humans and elves and dragons. When the dust has cleared, the elf and human allies help each other up, and the dragons trapped earlier by Viren's army are freed.
    • Soren helps unchain a dragon, cheerfully stating that he much prefers being on "unchaining" side. The dragon he frees even leans forward and nuzzles him warmly, it's adorable! It also is a marked difference from the last season when he tried to capture a dragon and was horribly injured when it retaliated.
  • Amaya giving Gren another huge bear hug when they reunite. Gren even tears up a little, relieved that she's alive after she risked her life to seal the breach.
    • There's a deep kind of heartwarming in the way that Gren, despite clearly being emotionally overwhelmed by finding Amaya alive and well, immediately slips back into his role as interpreter. He and Amaya are a part of each other, and despite their separation, they work together with no hesitation.
  • Viren setting aside some time before the battle to reaffirm the pride and respect he feels for Claudia. Nothing prompted or encouraged him to connect right then and there apart from his own genuine love for his daughter. Fittingly, this one redeeming quality is what saves his life in the end (however bad that may be for the rest of the world...).
  • The Dragon Queen finally awakes and is overjoyed to see her child alive and well, as well as that humans and elves are getting along.
Zubeia: Is this a dream? [gasp] I can't believe it, elves and humans are here and they've brought back my baby, my love, and my hope.
    • Callum and Rayla are Holding Hands, as are Janai and Amaya...
      • Amaya teases Janai a little with that smirk of hers before the latter grudgingly holds out her hand, and then both of them smile.
      • When Janai reaches out to hold Amaya's hand, Gren—standing just behind Amaya—sees and just lights up like Christmas morning, visibly delighted at the development.
      • Callum and Rayla Holding Hands also serve as a Heartwarming in Hindsight to an earlier episode when Callum was unsure about whether they should reveal their relationship to the Dragon Queen, given the animosities between humans and elves. When the Queen wakes up, they do not even hesitate to hold hands, and the Queen herself gasps with joy at the sight. It was probably exactly what she needed to see, on top of getting her son back, after knowing the years of endless losses in the strife between the human kingdoms and Xadia.

Book 4: Earth

    Chapter 1 Rebirthday
  • The sight of Callum having come into his own as a mage, and still being his humble and kind-hearted self, after he had doubted himself for so long in prior seasons.
  • After some initial Ship Tease in Book 3, Amaya and Janai get a Relationship Upgrade when Janai proposes marriage to the former in the series premiere with a sliiightly mistranslated gesture. D'aww.
    • And even before that when Amaya attacks the dancers Janai hired to surprise her. Once the situation is calmed down, one of the dancers remarks that Amaya is "like a beast", to which Janai chuckles and says that's exactly what she loves about her.
  • What's the big castle conspiracy Callum's gotten himself worked up over revealed to be in the end? A surprise birthday party for him.
    Ezran: Happy birthday, big brother!

    Chapter 2: Fallen Stars

    Chapter 3: Breathtaking
  • One of the first things Rayla says to her boyfriend, after spending so much time away from him, is say he looks nice, clearly taken with how he's matured since they last saw each other.
  • Rayla fawning over Stella is very sweet.
Rayla: This is Stella. She's a wee cuddlemonkey. I found her all alone, she's an orphan. Or she was, but now she's got a cuddle-mama. Hmm.
  • As Callum dozes off, Rayla confesses aloud how he was the best thing she ever had.
    • After giving him a pillow to rest on and seeing Callum drool in his sleep, Rayla simply wipes it off without hesitation, before leaving.
  • Unlike his brother, Ezran has no conflict over seeing Rayla again and immediately hugs her when she approaches him.

Chapter 4: Through the Looking Glass
  • Before they leave to join the others, Bait makes sure to bring Callum his scarf.
Callum: Aw... Bait, your the best.
  • After Aaravos delivers Soren his segment of "The Reason You Suck" Speech the Elf is dishing out, Bait proves how he's mans true best friend again, by placing a sympathetic paw on Soren's foot.

    Chapter 5: The Great Gates

    Chapter 6: The Drakewood
  • When it seems they've lost Soren, Rayla again tries to blame herself but without hesitation Callum quickly stops her from spiraling, assuring her she's not at fault. Some things never change.

    Chapter 7: Beneath the Surface
  • The group laughing and clearly enjoying themselves chiming crystals during the first trial. So far it's the greatest moment of levity they've experienced in the entire quest.

    Chapter 8: Rex Igneous
  • After seeing her offer her blades to the titular dragon as a tribute, and hearing her tell the archdragon that they were specially made for her by Ethari, and are her last connection to both him and Runaan, Callum makes the effort to place a comforting hand on Rayla's shoulder.

Chapter 9: Escape From Umber Tor
  • The first thing Callum does when Rex's roar wakes him from Claudia's spell is to use himself to shield his still unconscious little brother from falling rocks.
  • Before pursuing Viren, Rayla turns to Callum declaring that she has to go after him, after a moment he says "I know" and Rayla places her hand over her heart in response. After all that happened because of the last time she left to pursue the renegade dark mage, that sign that she still has her beloved Callum's trust and understanding about her decision, obviously means the world to her.
  • After a whole season of keeping up a barrier between them because of how unsure he felt about her, Callum at last embraces Rayla again when she emerges safe from the rubble.
Callum: I'm so glad that you came back!
  • While it once more demonstrates how manipulative and dark Claudia can become, her actions demonstrate a willingness to go to extreme lengths to protect Terry. She demonstrated a ruthlessness that is normally reserved for those she considers family. Her care for Terry is further confirmed afterwards, when Terry's regard for her actions evidently shamed her into going back to return the coins to Rayla. For all that she has walked a very dark path, Claudia's care for those she loves is still genuine.
    • There is a second layer of heartwarming in this scene. Terry and Rayla are complete strangers, and she was just holding him hostage at swordpoint, and by his reaction she wasn't being gentle. Despite this, Terry still felt enough sympathy for Rayla to call out Claudia for her nasty trick, speaking volumes about him as a person.

Book 5 Ocean

    Chapter 1: Dominus Profundis
  • Terry helping to calm Claudia in the midst of Viren's dark magic coma, collecting several items to help her relax.
    • Since it's strongly implied that Claudia is on the autism spectrum, Terry understanding and going out of his way to provide for her sensory needs to help her through a distressing moment, is itself a ringing endorsement of his boyfriend credentials.
  • Despite her going behind his back, searching the dark mage chambers and being found with the weapon that killed his stepfather, Callum's immediate reaction is to command Opeli and the guards to release Rayla, stating that he trusts her unconditionally and that she must have a reason for both her actions and not informing him.
  • When the titular Archdragon expresses surprise that a child summoned her, Zubeia corrects her that a king summoned her. Goes to show the respect she has for the young ruler

    Chapter 2: Old Wounds
  • Coming to the parted entrance into Xadia made by Viren, Rayla finds it ominous, but Callum provides a positive outlook. That while it's may have had a dark origin, it's now become a bridge between Humanity and Elves.
    • Rayla calls it "an old wound that's healing" while sharing a meaningful look with Callum, both understanding it applies to their relationship as well.
  • During the night, while camped out under the stars, Rayla snuggles up to Callum as he's describing the constellations, expressing that she's glad she could share this moment with him as Callum reciprocates and Bait and Stella snooze peacefully nearby.
  • Terry continuing to express concern at Claudia's growing exhaustion, but still respects her wishes to keep moving even after she collapse. As such, he builds a boat for them to sail down the river, giving her a chance to relax as they travel.
  • One of the happier moments of Viren's Vision Quest has him see Harrow again, and wastes no time expressing his regret at having failed to save his friend, outright admitting he viewed him as a brother. Harrow admitting the feeling is mutual brings Tears of Joy to his eyes.
  • When being attacked by a corrupted bear, Rayla and Callum turn back when they realise they left Bait behind despite the extra danger.
  • Soren derailing Ezran practicing his speech to indulge in some basic humor, wanting to give him a chance to act like a kid his age rather than constantly bearing the burden of his duty as king. Even Corvus joins in, the three sharing a laugh.
  • Viren playing with a younger Soren during his Vision Quest is utterly adorable. It's clear how much he loved his son.

    Chapter 3: Nightmares and Revelations
  • Claudia and Terry get a chance to relax and enjoy some wholesome moments together.
  • After waking from her nightmare Amaya suggests to Janai they begin planning their wedding to get her mind off the dream, with the General being noticeably excited about choosing flowers with her betrothed. Appreciating the gesture Janai pulls Amaya into a tender kiss.
  • Callum is overjoyed to hear his aunt is engaged, as well as giving her a big hug at their reunion.
  • Amaya and Janai both admit they knew Callum and Rayla would go to Lux Aurea anyway, and decide to aid the two rather than hinder them. The former by accompanying them, and the latter by giving her fiance her sword, both as a weapon and something to keep her close in spirit.
  • The end of Viren's Vision Quest has him talking to his past self, who insists that he is not locked onto a set path, and basically encourages his present self to consider if he is happy with the current direction of his life in the most encouraging manner he can. The whole thing ends with the two touching hands, indicating he has come to a healthier state of mind.

    Chapter 4: The Great Bookery
  • Amaya taking the chance to talk to Rayla, and sincerely apologises for how quickly and harshly she judged her during their first meeting. Rayla appreciates the gesture, and makes it clear there's no grudge being held.
  • During Rayla and Amaya's argument over Rayla having left Callum for over two years, Rayla admits that she did it because she didn't want to put Callum at risk and needed to be "strong alone". This prompts Amaya to admit that she used to be much the same way; After Sarai's death, she was convinced that she had to be strong and stoic in order to protect her remaining loved ones, but after the past two years and falling in love with Janai, she realizes now that she doesn't have to be alone to be strong, and neither does Rayla.
  • After Rayla informs him of what Viren did to Runaan and her parents, Callum immediately starts looking for a spell that can release them (in part thanks to coming across it during their search on Startouch Elves), and excitedly tells her he found it before they leave the Bookery. When he said he would do anything for her, he meant it.
    • The utter gentleness and care Callum uses when he returns the coins to Rayla by placing them back in her palms and closing her fingers around them. He knows how precious they are to her because she's that precious to him.
  • In what looks to be their last moments, Callum gently takes Rayla's hand caressing the back of it with his thumb as he tells her he's sorry he took so long, and that he hopes she knows- but he doesn't have to finish... Rayla knows he loves her.
  • Amaya not hesitating to rush back into the Bookery to save Bait.
  • When Corvus falls in as well, she rushes to his side to help him, and in what he thinks might be their final hour signs It Has Been an Honour, the two sharing a Headbutt of Love.

    Chapter 5: Archmage Akiyu
  • After Ezran recounts his meeting with Domina Profundis, Callum compliments his brother for being on a first name basis with another archdragon.
  • Ezran and Callum disagree on whether to fetch the Novablade or continue to try and intercept Viren and Claudia. The two turn to Rayla to decide, showing how much the king and high mage value the opinion of their friend. The fact that there is no discussion or arguments on the other decision throughout the episode shows that both were willing to accept the outcome with no hard feelings.
    • The main reason Ezran is in favour of stopping Aaravos from being released is to minimise any potential bloodshed.
    • Rayla's decision is even more impactful given that the last episode Callum informed her that one of the components of the spell needed to free her family from the coins was in the same place as the Novablade, and she still agreed with Ezran's plan to avoid more potential bloodshed.
  • Soren showing concern for Zubeia as her bite wound begins to look knarly, and her calling him a "sweet human".
  • After Rayla makes a pun about Soren "finally coming out of his shell", she and Callum share a fistbump, without her even looking. Those two dorks really are perfect for each other.
  • Rayla's fear of water crops up again when they have to swim through a water filled passageway, so Rayla tries to provoke Callum into pushing her in by shoving him first. Instead, he just holds her hand and reassures her before they jump in together, continuing to hold hands as they swim.
  • Terry continues to be a wonderfully supportive boyfriend to Claudia, managing to calm her down while she's worried about Viren, and even cheer her up by getting her to start dancing. Even the Chrysalis Child looks happy at the scene.
    • During the same scene, when Terry asks Claudia what she'd like to say to Viren if he could respond, she says she just wants to tell him she loves him, and is here for him no matter what.
    Chapter 6: Bait and Switch
  • Soren and Callum sharing a moment mutually getting excited over the prospect of acting roles.
  • Rayla's growing excitement when Soren indicates that the captain he found is blind, as she, Callum, and Ezran are delighted to see Villads again. For his part, Villads is happy to come across his one-time passengers and requires little to no convincing to take them to their destination, or go along with Ezrans plan.
  • The fact that everyone agreed to Ezrans plan to steal from Finnegrin indicates that his word was enough to convince them that what he had wasn't something he should be allowed to keep. Shows how much trust they have in him that they'd accept his judgement without needing any more details.
    • For that matter, the fact that Ezran deemed three baby glow toads important enough to put their mission on hold and rescue is just another reminder of how caring he is towards everyone and everything.
    • The three baby glow toads they rescued are absolutely adorable, and everyone immediately starts gushing over them.
  • Despite the thing having stalked them for several days and attacking them just there, Terry begs Claudia to spare the water dragon, arguing it will leave them alone, and showing visible concern at the obvious fear it has when in Claudia's grasp. Guy has a very big heart.
    Chapter 7: Sea Legs
  • Small, but the guard discussing his breakfast Rayla snuck past on Book 1 makes his return at the Sunfire Elf camp, excitedly discussing his new food combo with his human and elf companion. And while the former looks exasperated, the elf appears genuinely fascinated, indicating there are some cross species friendships even amongst the rank and file.
  • Played for Laughs, but when he thinks he may die, Soren's final request is for everyone to tell Claudia he said 'Hi'. Shows he really does think of his sister.
  • Throughout the episode, Ezran and Soren both play around with the Baitlings, and even go out of their way to give each of the three names.
    • When Hat falls overboard, Soren is the first to enter the water to try and rescue him. It doesn't run out well, obviously, but points to him for caring so much.
  • Janai wielding Amaya's sword in battle (with the same flower she gave her fiance attached) as a means of keeping her close.
  • Gren's joy at seeing Amaya and Corvus return safe and sound from Lux Aurea. And the bearhug she gives him shows it is very much mutual.
  • Despite bickering with him over who has actual ownership over the Ruthless, Nyx expresses her condolences to Villads after his ship is wrecked.
    Chapter 8: Finnegrin's Wake
  • Bait expressing concern for Callum after he undergoes Finnegrin and Deadwood's Cold-Blooded Torture. Callum assures him he'll be fine.
  • When Finnegrin tries to force Callum to choose which of his friends will lose a hand, everyone immediately starts to volunteer, being almost cheerful as they chime in why they should be the one to lose it. Callum is understandably touched that his point about friendship is vindicated to Finngerin.
    • This includes Villads, brushing off the potential handicap of being down both eyes and a hand for someone he' met twice.
  • Despite Karim escaping, Janai and Amaya are happy to be reunited, sharing a Headbutt of Love.
  • Soren standing up to Finnegrin on Deadwood's behalf, angrily stating that his crewman deserves to be treated with respect, clearly reminded of the way Viren used to treat him. And even as the golem continues to pummel him at Finnegrin's command, he refuses to stay down or fight back, instead insisting that Deadwood doesn't have to do what his abusive captain tells him to. This actually manages to get through to him, prompting a Heel–Face Turn and disposing of his former captain.
    • While it's rather creepy, it's nice to see Elmer (Deadwoods actual name) crack a smile to the group at the end.
    • When Nyx says she knew they could defeat Finnegrin, Soren corrects her by saying Elmer defeated him, clearly making sure the wood golem's bravery is recognised.
  • Villads sailing the ship at the end, happy to be able to continue doing what he loves.
  • Rayla giving Callum a hug in the aftermath.
  • While he's clearly disgusted with himself for doing so, and it's indicated there may be consequences down the line, the fact that Callum was willing to use Dark Magic if it saved Rayla shows how much she means to him.

    Chapter 9: Infantis Sanguine
  • While it's unclear if it was a vision or a fever dream, Zubeia getting a chance to talk to Avizandium again tugs at the heartstrings, the Dragon Queen relieved at the opportunity. And when she considers giving up so they can be Together in Death, he talks her into staying, expressing faith in her strength and reminding her to look out for her son. This is all she needs to try and make the journey.
  • It appears that all hope is lost for Queen Zubeia as the wound from the dark magic creature slowly corrupts her; she becomes so sick that she cannot fly and crashes into the forest. It looks like she's going to die, but then a little man appearance, calling himself the Mushroom Mage, he uses his magic to heal her wounds as he purges the dark magic from her. The last image we see is the man singing a song as he heals her as Queen Zubeia drifts to sleep. The dragon queen was almost lost, but at the right time, a man appeared and healed her when Zubeia needed him.
  • In a twisted sort of way, the fact that the Chrysalis Child was created by Aaravos seemingly so that Viren could be resurrected without sacrificing either of his children indicates that he does have the mental and physical wellbeing of his ally in mind.
  • When Rayla is unable to use the mage gills (implied to be because of her fear of water), Soren reminds her they have the important job of watching Zym, Bait, and the baitlings, in a successful attempt to cheer her up.
    • Her Big Damn Heroes moment later on indicates that her care for her friends was enough to make her overcome her fear of water.
  • Callum and Ezran's joy at being able to freely swim underwater, the latter also taking the opportunity to talk to the local fish. Callum also casts a spell to let them propel themselves, giddy at putting his new connection to the Ocean Arcanum to use, and both brothers enjoy the sensation.
    • During the fight against Claudia, the school of fish return to distract the Dark Mage, giving the heroes a chance to turn the tables.
  • While it means bad things for Janai and Amaya, Karim and Miyana's reunion is quite sweet, with her not only reassuring him she'd never betray him, but revealing that a small army agreed to follow them as well.

Ending Cards

     Book 1: Moon
  • Any of the scenes where Viren shows he actually cares for his family, such as him showing magic to Claudia and Soren when they were really young. One card has Claudia pouring her dad some of her "hot brown morning potion".

  • Harrow, Callum and Ezran snow sledding.
  • Runaan training and raising a young Rayla.
  • Rayla and Callum high-fouring, with Callum holding his pinkie tucked in.

     Book 2: Sky

  • Ezran chasing after Zym as he flies in the sky, tearfully smiling as he holds a handkerchief to his eyes.

  • Two soulfang snakes in love.

     Book 4: Earth
  • Janai and Amaya embracing as a betrothed couple.
  • Ezran with Callum standing alongside him in his royal portrait, just as his father included Viren in his. They're even standing in the same pose.
  • Ez and Rayla doing cartwheels and handstands together.
  • The tiger mounts, Aegis and Embertail, snuggling together just like their riders.

Novels

     Book One: Moon
  • Double Heartwarming moment: As soon as Callum hears that Moonshadow assassins are coming to kill King Harrow, Callum's very first instinct is to stay and fight rather than go to the Banther Lodge...until he realizes that Ezran would refuse to leave without Callum.

     Through The Moon
  • While Rayla may have wrote in her letter that she had to leave quick less she risk waking a stirring Callum, Through the Moon illustrates that, despite herself, she ultimately couldn't leave without giving Callum a goodbye kiss on his brow.
