  • Even and especially though they're a pair of unhinged, Ax-Crazy nutters, pretty much all the interactions between The Frenchman and The Female are this. He never treats her as anything less than a human being, and never gives up on the hope that one day she can move past her homicidal yearnings. For her part, he is the only one that can touch her without losing body parts, and it's clear she cares deeply for him. One standout is where Frenchie tries to convince The Female to leave the team with him, offering himself as an outlet for the uncontrollable need to maim and kill she is afflicted with. Despite knowing in detail exactly what kind of nauseating, unbelievable damage she can inflict. The Female - who we have seen repeatedly rip faces off, eviscerate explosively, and woke from a coma by breaking Hughie's arm - immediately and absolutely refuses, almost looking about to cry. Then she gives Frenchie some of her ice-cream.
  • Another one between Frenchie and the Female in issue 30 overlaps with Tearjerker, but if every Platonic Life-Partners met Ax-Crazy...
"Je suis votre ami. If I cannot be your friend I would as soon be dead. If it must be by your hand, so be it."
  • Butcher telling Hughie to cherish Annie, cheerfully admitting he was wrong about her.
  • Super Duper. Unlike most of the other "hero" characters, they're genuinely good people who try (though often fail) to help others using their less-than-spectacular powers. Likewise, in stark contrast to other superhero teams that demean and belittle one another, Super Duper are shown to be very close and protective of one another.
    • There is also one scene when the team watch The Iron Giant together. Afterwards, one of them mentions tearing up at the "Superman" scene. An incredibly nice moment. It's worth noting here that Superman is one of the few superheroes Garth Ennis has shown outright respect towards in the past.
    • As part of this, Hughie defending the members of Super-Duper from Malchemical. He had already been instructed by Butcher to only observe and not interfere, and had broken that rule by saving one member from choking on an ice-cream spoon, so Hughie already knew he was on thin ice... but when Malchemical starts bullying and assaulting the members, even going so far as to try and rape one of them, Hughie steps in and tells him to back off. Despite being completely outclassed, and suffering SERIOUS injuries from it, Hughie didn't even consider backing down.
  • Almost any of Hughie's interactions with Vas. It's clear none of the other Boys are that close to him, and Billy basically just exploits Vas for his connections, but Hughie and Vas connect and work very well together, with Vas even giving Hughie a load of his home-brew vodka to take back with him after their mission is over.
