For a goofy movie about surfing penguins, Surf's Up has a few moments that will make you feel as warm as the beach sun.

- After learning how much Cody feels about his Big Z medallion, Geek goes back to his hut and finds it.
- Overall, the scene where Geek trains Cody on surfing. He's not even bothered when Cody pranks him, because he just wanted Cody to loosen up and have fun.
- Lani's stunned joy when she sees her uncle having fun on the water. She doesn't hesitate to join Z and Cody in the surf.Geek: Lani...thank you.
- Chicken Joe's barely known Cody for a day, but he spends pretty much all of his time searching for his new friend.
- Minor one, but Tank, the Big Bad, is relatively polite to the film crew when they interview him. He even shows off his trophy room... that has a "KEEP OUT OR DIE" sign.
